Thermoforming (free blowing) of poly(ethylene terephthalate) preforms was successfully and quickly performed in a rotating system designed for dielectric hysteresis heating. Temperature profile modeling was carried out with the amorphous poly(ethylene terephthalate) permittivity at different temperatures. The Maxwell and heat equations were used to determine the best profile and power tuning. The determination of the theoretical boundary conditions was accomplished by the adjustment of the numerical transient external surface wall temperature with experimental infrared pyrometry results. In comparison with infrared, microwaves allowed high power density absorption inside the perform wall without a dramatic temperature gradient. Consequently, the heat blowing stage could be accelerated, and the process took at least 5 times less energy than infrared heating. A panel of experienced assessors was used to test the effect of irradiation at 2.5kGy (250krad) on the sensory quality of 1-day and 21-day-old turkey breast fillets stored at 1°C in either oxygen-permeable polythene or an oxygen-impermeable barrier film. In the application of Free Choice Profiling and Generalized Procrustes Analysis, assessors used their own terms to describe the appearance, odour and flavour of the samples.
The irradiated samples showed negligible growth of micro-organisms across 21 days of storage. Radiation treatment resulted in an intense pink colour in the raw and cooked samples, which was maintained during storage in oxygen-impermeable film, but decreased in samples exposed to oxygen during storage. Radiation also produced a set of unpleasant raw odour notes variously described as sour, rancid, mature, bad meat or putrid in the samples stored in oxygen-impermeable film. These notes were unlike the sulphurous notes previously associated with protein denaturation in irradiated chicken and were apparently distinct from the odour notes that developed in corresponding non-irradiated samples. 相似文献

The effect of electron beam irradiation on ethylene‐propylene terpolymer (EPDM) was investigated. A 50‐part oil‐extended EPDM with high termonomer (ENB) content (iodine number of base polymer) 19, was selected for this study. An increase in irradiation dose from 0 to 200 kGy resulted in increased crosslinking, measured by an increase in gel contents and better swelling resistance. The effect of the multifunctional monomer trimethylol propane trimethacrylate (TMPTMA) as a crosslink promoter was studied using IR spectroscopy. The IR studies revealed enhanced peak absorbances at 1725, 1257, and 1023 cm?1 as a result of the increased concentration of C = O and C‐O‐C groups and reduced absorbance at 1630 cm?1 due decreased concentration of C = C groups with TMPTMA level in the irradiated samples. The presence of TMPTMA increased the level of crosslinking at a given irradiation dose, which was manifested by improvement in tensile properties. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We developed surface‐modified silica fillers by coating these with an acrylate monomer, trimethylolpropane triacrylate, or a silane coupling agent, triethoxyvinyl silane, followed by electron‐beam irradiation at room temperature. These were incorporated in an ethylene–octene copolymer rubber. Thermorheological studies of the unvulcanized ethylene–octene copolymer and its untreated and modified silica‐filled composites were done with a shear dynamic oscillating rheometer. Modification of the silica filler, especially via the silanization process followed by electron beam treatment, significantly reduced filler–filler networking as revealed from the log–log plots of storage modulus and complex shear viscosity, and its real component. The rheological complexity of the compositions was analyzed from a double logarithmic plot of the storage modulus and loss modulus. The results obtained from the master curves constructed on the basis of the time–temperature superposition principle and the activation energy calculated from the Arrhenius equation for the flow of above these compounds further supported these findings. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The dynamic mechanical relaxation of non-crystalline poly(aryl ether-ether-ketone) PEEK and the one irradiated with electron beam were studied. The three distinct γ, β, α′ relaxation maxima were observed in unirradiated PEEK from low to high temperature. It was revealed from the study on the irradiation effects that three different molecular processes are overlapped in γ relaxation peak, i.e., molecular motion of water bound to main chain (peak temperature; at ?100°C), local motion of main chain (at ?80°C), and local mode of the aligned and/or oriented moiety (at ?40°C). The β relaxation connected with the glass transition occurred at 150°C and it shifted to higher temperature by irradiation. The α′ relaxation which can be attributed to rearrangement of molecular chain due to crystallization was observed in unirradiated PEEK ~ 180°C and its magnitude decreased with the increase in irradiation dose. This effect indicates the formation of structures inhibiting crystallization such as crosslinking and/or short branching during irradiation. A new relaxation, β′, appeared in the temperature range of 40° to 100°C by irradiation and its magnitude increased with dose. This relaxation was attributed to rearrangement of molecular chain from loosened packing around chain ends, which were introduced into the non-crystalline region by chain scission under irradiation, to more rigid molecular packing, From these observations, we proposed that deterioration in mechanical properties of non-crystalline PEEK by high energy electron beam was brought about not only by chain scission but structural changes such as crosslinking and/or branching in the main chain. 相似文献

目的 为探究微波降解EGCG方法制备EGC的效果,以EGC得率最大化为目标,探究微波降解的最佳工艺参数,并建立反映各参数间关系的二次多元方程模型。方法 本研究采用EGCG溶液为原料,运用微波加热降解EGCG制备EGC,通过梯度设置EGCG浓度、微波时长、微波强度三个工艺参数,进行单因素实验、响应面分析及最佳工艺组合验证实验,优化确定EGCG微波降解制备EGC的最佳工艺参数。结果 综合单因素实验及响应面分析,得到的最佳微波降解参数为:EGCG浓度5mg/ml、微波时长3.5min、微波强度为400W,且利用响应面法建立了EGC得率(Y)与EGCG浓度(A)、微波时长(B)、微波强度(C)的二次多元方程模型:Y=59.52+8.38*A+5.38*B+3.53*C-4.04*AB+6.92*AC-9.19*BC-9.99A2+0.0786*B2-15.36*C2,模型中,EGC得率最高可达62.08%。对最佳微波降解工艺参数进行验证实验,EGC得率为63.40%,与模型预测值接近。结论 运用微波降解EGCG制备EGC具有操作简单,可行性高的优势,且EGC得率稳定性高。 相似文献
