Adaptive flexibility and maladaptive routines in selecting fast and frugal decision strategies.

Decision routines unburden the cognitive capacity of the decision maker. In changing environments, however, routines may become maladaptive. In 2 experiments with a hypothetical stock market game (n = 241), the authors tested whether decision routines tend to persist at the level of decision strategies rather than at the level of options in strategy selection. The payoff structure of the task was changed after 80 decision trials, rendering a new strategy optimal with respect to expected payoff. Whereas most participants detected the appropriate strategy at the beginning of the task, they tended to retain it even when it was no longer optimal. A hint about a possible change had only a small influence on this maladaptive routine; a monetary incentive had none. Switching to a similar but not identical task relaxed the routine, but not much. A new alloy design concept for austenitic stainless steel with tungsten modification for bipolar plate application in PEMFC

The feasibility of a new alloy design concept utilizing the principle of ‘tungsten bronze effect’ is critically evaluated for the development of metallic bipolar plates for proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). An austenitic stainless steel (ASS) is modified with W and La to improve the stability of the passive film in an acidic environment as well as to reduce the contact resistance by the tungsten bronze effect. The experimental ASS containing W and La was evaluated in a simulated PEMFC environment of H₃PO₄ and H₂SO₄ solutions at 80 °C, and the electrical property was evaluated by performing a contact resistance test. The test results show that the ASS modified with W and La has good passive film stability for corrosion resistance and low contact resistance. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis clearly suggests the possibility of the tungsten bronze effect from the change in valency state of W⁶⁺ to W⁵⁺ in the passive film formed on the modified ASS. The feasibility of a new alloy design concept utilizing the ‘tungsten bronze effect’ is well demonstrated; however, more study is highly required for the development of metallic bipolar plates of PEMFC.

Influence of carbon introduced by arc melting on the structural and magnetic properties of RFe12−xVx (R = Y and Dy)

Carbon was introduced by arc melting into RFe_12−xV_x compounds, where R = Y or Dy and x = 2, 3 or 4, and its effects on the crystallographic and magnetic properties of these intermetallics were investigated by X-ray, magnetostatic and Mössbauer effect measurements. Experimental results show that the carbon atoms prefer the 4d sites to the 2b sites, or occupy the sites reserved for Fe atoms in the ThMn₁₂-type crystal structure. Carbon solution increases with increasing vanadium concentration, giving rise to an effect opposite to that of vanadium. An increase in vanadium content causes an increase in the cell volume and a linear decrease in Curie temperature and in the Fe magnetic moment, whereas the addition of carbon leads to a reduction in unit volume while maintaining a high T_c and enhancing the Fe magnetic moment despite decreasing iron content in the samples.     

海洋石油平台EMS系统的设计与实现

介绍海洋石油平台电力组网的EMS系统设计。针对海上石油平台电网的特点,提出了集SCADA、在线安控及电站综合自动化等功能为一体的EMS系统建设方案,并对EMS的有功功率(频率)控制、电压无功控制、优先脱扣、高周切机、通信故障控制策略进行研究,解决了小电网的安全稳定控制问题。     

基于交流比例积分控制器的单相逆变器

提出一种电感电流、输出电压瞬时值反馈控制和负载电流前馈控制相结合的复合控制策略。在此基础上,研制了一台800W的单相逆变器。实验结果表明,提出的控制策略改善了逆变器输出电压的波形,提高了系统的暂态特性。
