Analysis of lightning surge propagation in wind farm

Wind power generation is expected to become more important in future distribution systems. Although several prospective reports such as IEC 61400‐24 and NREL SR‐500‐31115 indicate an insulation scheme and grounding design for lighting protection, there still seems to be too few investigations on the problems. This paper therefore discusses lightning surge analysis using a wind farm model with 2 or 10 ideal wind turbines. Changing parameters such as grounding resistance and lightning strike points, several cases were studied. As a result of the analysis using digital simulator ARENE, it is clear that the surge tends to propagate toward the end of a distribution line in a wind farm and there is the possibility of insulation accidents at the other wind turbines when lightning attacks a wind turbine. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Study on a Distributed Wavelength Routing Algorithm in WDM Optical Transport Networks

A new design scheme for a distributed algorithm for routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) is developed in this paper, and the communication rules between the nodes to exchange signaling packets are discussed. The Adaptive-Alternate-Routing-Least-Load (AARLL) algorithm is implemented in the distributed scheme for the first time. Under dynamic traffic circumstances, the influence of the race condition, which does not exist in centralized scheme, on the network performance is analyzed and the analyzed results show that the race condition has a major impact on network performance only under light traffic load, while under medium and heavy traffic load the impact is very small. To analyze the performance loss caused by adopting the distributed algorithm for RWA, the capacity loss factor (CLF) is introduced and the calculated results show that CLF does not exceed 6% under medium traffic load.     

Delivering Improvement from Truth — the Fragile Link Between Analysis and Effective Change

In the history of operations research in industry there has been an abundance of analyses and recommendations produced in millions of man hours by dedicated OR specialists. And yet the net improvement is significantly lower than expected. There are numerous reasons for this shortfall: incomplete analysis, too much theory, incomplete implementation, unreliable recommendations, or a combination of some of these reasons.
By describing several examples, the major reasons for the fragility of the link between recommendation and implementation will be reviewed. What has to be done today to increase the likelihood of implementing an OR recommendation and thus improve the performance of an industrial entity by using the power of OR tools will then be described.     

动态交通分配中一类转换率系统的稳定性

在假设交通很拥挤同时交通的转换率与路径费用成正比的前提下，构建了一个动态的转换率模型．为了获取转换率系统的全局渐近稳定，提出了一个普遍适用的Lyapunov函数方法，与此同时通过线性矩阵不等式方法，得到了保证转换率系统全局渐近稳定的充分条件．     

IP骨干网络中QoS技术的分析

简要介绍了IP骨干网络中对QoS技术的定义和其影响因素,并对目前几种比较流行的QoS模型进行了对比.最后重点介绍了DiffServ模型的工作机制,组成部件和相应的实现算法.通过对一些算法的描述,有助于为对从事网质量传输研究或者传输模型实现的相关人员提供一些感性的认识.     

快中子零功率反应堆(DF-VI)的临界事故概率分析

本文应用故障树分析方法,对快中子零功率堆(DF-Ⅵ)在启动过程中发生临界事故的可能性做了初步的定量估计。结果表明,该堆每次启动发生临界事故的概率约为10~(-6)量级,得出确保装置启动安全的首要因素是选配合格的操作人员的结论,并对设备的改进提出了一些建议.
