Intact attentional control of working memory encoding in schizophrenia.

This study reports evidence that individuals with schizophrenia (SC) demonstrate intact attentional selection for visual working memory (WM) storage. A group of 62 participants with SC and 55 control participants without SC were studied in a series of 5 experiments that examined the ability to use top-down and bottom-up cues to guide WM encoding, as well as the ability to spontaneously select a subset of representations for storage. Participants with SC exhibited a consistent and robust ability to use selective attention in the control of WM in all 5 experiments, demonstrating a remarkable island of preserved functioning given the broad spectrum of impairments of attention and WM that have been widely reported in those with SC. These findings indicate that attention is not globally impaired in SC and make it possible to delineate more precisely the nature of the specific impairment of attention in this disorder. A discounted integrated inspection-maintenance model for a single deteriorating production facility

In this paper, we address the problem of determining optimum inspection schedules for a single deteriorating production system with a predetermined replacement cycle. It is assumed that, at different discrete points in time over the fixed planning horizon, the facility is inspected to detect its operating state and then it goes over an imperfect preventive maintenance routine to enhance its operating performance. Moreover, the facility undergoes minimal repair once detected in an “out‐of‐control” state. We also adopt the concept of discounted cash flow analysis to account properly for the effect of time value of money on the inspection policies. Under these settings, we formulate the discounted integrated inspection‐maintenance problem as a dynamic programming model with general time to failure distribution. After illustrating the model with a numerical example, we perform sensitivity analysis to investigate the effects of some input parameters on the expected present worth and the number of inspections.     

Characterization of closed-loop measurement accuracy in precision CNC milling

This study investigates the closed-loop measurement error in computer numerical controlled (CNC) milling as they relate to the different inspection techniques. The on-line inspection of machining accuracy using a spindle probe has an inherent shortcoming because the same machine-produced parts are used for inspection. In order to use the spindle probe measurement as a means of correcting deviations in machining, the magnitude of measurement errors needs to be quantified. The empirical verification was made by conducting three sets of cutting experiments, followed by a design of experiment with three levels and three factors on a state-of-the-art CNC machining center. Three different material types and parameter settings were selected to simulate a diverse cutting condition. During the cutting, the cutting force and spindle vibration sensor signals were collected and a tool wear was recorded using a computer vision system. The bore tolerance was gauged by a spindle probe as well as a coordinate-measuring machine. The difference between the two measurements was defined as a closed-loop measurement error and the subsequent analysis was performed to determine the significant factors affecting the errors. The analysis results showed the potential of improving production efficiency and improved part quality.

多线程编程提高了飞行颤振数据处理软件的灵活性和易操作性，但也增加了软件编程和维护的复杂程度。针对这一矛盾，本文引进新的设计思想，提出新的多线程编程框图实现方法（Diagram method for multiple thread programming,DM/MTP），从而简化多线程的设计思路，特别适合于大型工程软件的设计。文中详细介绍了DM／MTP在模态参数识别算法NLUP中的应用。
