In dynamically changing environments, the spectrum-sharing method is a promising method to address the spectrum underutilization problem for cognitive radio (CR) systems. This paper investigates the capacity of cognitive radio multiple-access channel (CR-MAC) over a dynamic fading environment. Multiple secondary users (SUs) transmit to the secondary base station under the transmit power (TP) and interference temperature (IT) at the primary base station constraints. In order to perform a general analysis, a theoretical dynamic fading model termed hyper-fading model, which is suitable to the dynamic nature of cognitive radio channel, is considered. The optimal power allocation method is employed to maximize the capacity of CR-MAC for hyper-fading channel with TP and IT constraints and full channel side information. Through the numerical simulations, the capacity of the hyper-fading channels are compared with that of other channel fading models such as Rayleigh, Nakagami-2, and with an additive white Gaussian noise channel. Additionally, the impacts of the number of SUs on capacity is investigated.  相似文献

This paper presents a subcircuit compact model to study the dc characteristics of a partially depleted (PD) SOI laterally diffused metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (LDMOSFET) utilizing the HiSIM-HV compact model. Our model accounts both for the high-voltage and the floating-body effects such as the quasi saturation effect, the impact ionization in the drift region and the famous kink effect. The high-voltage effects, due to the surface MOS region of PD SOI LDMOSFET, are modeled using the HiSIM-HV model. The HiSIM-HV model, a surface-potential-based compact model, is used as a baseline model as it determines the potential consistently in the complete PD SOI LDMOSFET. And, to incorporate the floating-body effects into the HiSIM-HV model, we have used the same approach as used in developing BSIMSOI model. It is shown that to model the floating-body effects, mainly the kink in the output characteristics, the current due to the impact ionization in the drift region (I KIRK ) needs to be accurately modeled. An external current controlled current source (CCCS) is included in the proposed subcircuit model to model I KIRK accurately. The model is validated for a set of channel and drift lengths to demonstrate the scalability of the model. The accuracy of the proposed subcircuit model is verified using 2-D numerical simulations.  相似文献

In order to meet the challenges of growing air pollution for a developing nation and to measure the ambient fine particles (PM2.5, particles having aerodynamic diameter less than 2.5 μm) on routine basis an air sampler was designed, developed and evaluated in the field. The impactor removes particles greater than 2.5 μm from the air stream via impacting them onto a vacuum grease substrate and finer particles get eventually collected on a backup filter. Various impactor nozzles with conical geometry were designed based on the published theoretical design equations. A detail parametric investigation was carried out which resulted in the optimum impactor nozzle design. For this exercise, a novel dry aerosol generator was employed in addition to the well known time-of-flight instrument, APS (Aerodynamic Particle Sizer, Model 3021, TSI Inc.). The average particle losses for the impactor nozzle as well as the sampler body were below 10% and the overall pressure drop (including a backup 47 mm filter) through the PM2.5 sampler was only 2 in. of H2O. This developed PM2.5 sampler operates at a flow rate of 15 LPM. Field performance of this sampler was evaluated through co-located sampling with a high volume PM2.5 reference sampler (HVS, GEM-BLI Model 2360, Tisch Environment Instrument) within the IIT Kanpur campus. The sampling period was 10 h long and it was carried out on six different days. The entire sets of filters were analyzed gravimetrically followed by their chemical analysis for elemental and anionic analyses. The particle mass, elemental, and anionic concentrations obtained with this newly developed PM2.5 sampler as well as those from the reference HVS sampler showed moderate to good correlation.  相似文献

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) consist of sensor nodes that broadcast a message within a network. Efficient broadcasting is a key requirement in sensor networks and has been a focal point of research over the last few years. There are many challenging tasks in the network, including redundancy control and sensor node localization that mainly depend on broadcasting. In this paper, we propose a broadcasting algorithm to control redundancy and improve localization (BACRIL) in WSNs. The proposed algorithm incorporates the benefits of the gossip protocol for optimizing message broadcasting within the network. Simulation results show a controlled level of redundancy, which is up to 57.6% if the number of sensor nodes deployed in a 500 m×500 m area are increased from 50 to 500.  相似文献

The mean squared error criterion is widely used in the literature. However, there are applications where the squared error is not the primary parameter affecting the performance of a system. In this paper, we introduce a cost function that is based on the phase error. The criterion is useful for applications where the performance depends primarily on the phase of the estimated (recovered) signal. A continuous-time adaptive filter is then developed using the proposed criterion in stochastic differential equation formalism. The proposed adaptive filter is used to estimate power system frequency where the formulated structure is very simple. The three-phase voltages are converted to a complex form for processing by the proposed algorithm. The performance of the new algorithm is studied through simulations at different situations of the power system.  相似文献

The basic oxygen furnace waste generated in steel plant has been used as a low cost adsorbent for the removal of Pb(II) from aqueous solution. The effect of pH, adsorbent dosage, initial metal ion concentration, contact time and temperature on adsorption process was studied in batch experiments. Results of the equilibrium experiments showed that the solution pH was the key factor affecting the adsorption characteristics. Optimum pH for the adsorption was found to be 5 with corresponding adsorbent dosage level of 5 g/L. The equilibrium was achieved within 1 h of contact time. Kinetics data were best described by pseudo second order model. The effective particle diffusion coefficient of Pb(II) is the order of 10−10 m2/s. The maximum uptake was 92.5 mg/g. The adsorption data can be well fitted by Freundlich isotherm. The result of the equilibrium studies showed that the solution pH was the key factor affecting the adsorption. External mass transfer analysis was also carried out for the adsorption process. The thermodynamic studies indicated that the adsorption is spontaneous and endothermic. The sorption energy (10.1745 kJ/mol) calculated from Dubinin–Radushkevich isotherm indicated that the adsorption process is chemical in nature. Desorption studies were carried out using dilute mineral acids to elucidate the mechanism of adsorption. Application studies were carried out considering the economic viewpoint of wastewater treatment plant operations.  相似文献

An aptamer is a short sequence of synthetic oligonucleotides which bind to their cognate target, specifically while maintaining similar or higher sensitivity compared to an antibody. The in-vitro selection of an aptamer, applying a conjoining approach of chemistry and molecular biology, is referred as Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential enrichment (SELEX). These initial products of SELEX are further modified chemically in an attempt to make them stable in biofluid, avoiding nuclease digestion and renal clearance. While the modification is incorporated, enough care should be taken to maintain its sensitivity and specificity. These modifications and several improvisations have widened the window frame of aptamer applications that are currently not only restricted to in-vitro systems, but have also been used in molecular imaging for disease pathology and treatment. In the food industry, it has been used as sensor for detection of different diseases and fungal infections. In this review, we have discussed a brief history of its journey, along with applications where its role as a therapeutic plus diagnostic (theranostic) tool has been demonstrated. We have also highlighted the potential aptamer-mediated strategies for molecular targeting of COVID-19. Finally, the review focused on its future prospective in immunotherapy, as well as in identification of novel biomarkers in stem cells and also in single cell proteomics (scProteomics) to study intra or inter-tumor heterogeneity at the protein level. Small size, chemical synthesis, low batch variation, cost effectiveness, long shelf life and low immunogenicity provide advantages to the aptamer over the antibody. These physical and chemical properties of aptamers render them as a strong biomedical tool for theranostic purposes over the existing ones. The significance of aptamers in human health was the key finding of this review.  相似文献

Differential scanning calorimetry and optical microscopy were performed to examine the reversibility of phase separation at above the lower critical solution temperatures in a miscible poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL)/poly(benzyl methacrylate) (PBzMA) blend system. Upon heating, phase separation occurred via a binodal nucleation and growth (NG) mechanism at above 240 °C, which is a lower critical solution temperature (LCST). The pattern of phase domains suggests that the phase separation was meta-stable. Interestingly, the LCST phase separation was found to be readily reversible to original homogeneity upon cooling at regularly accessible rates. A major factor may be that the temperature window between the LCST curve and blend Tg curve is wide, resulting in a convenient temperature range for the polymer chains to kinetically reorganize to a state favored by the thermodynamic conditions.  相似文献

The heuristic clustering methods based on similarity coefficient are considered to be very efficient for providing modularity and flexibility in a cellular manufacturing systems (CMS's). Various algorithms have been implemented in these heuristic methods. However, these algorithms suffer from string effect which is also known as “chaining”. Sedveral studies have reported this problem, yet not much research has been conducted to investigate its impact on actual clustering process.

This paper presents results from an analytical study performed to determine the severity of chaining problem and other characteristics associated with the clustering process of four selected algorithms. The four algorithms are Single linkage clustering (SLINK), Average linkage clustering (ALINK), Weighted average linkage clustering (WLINK), and Complete linkage clustering (CLINK). A sample of fifty problems with randomly generated data sets was used to determine feasible solutions consisting of machine cells and corresponding part families from each of the four algorithms. A quantitative measure is proposed for evaluating the performance of different algorithms. The study concludes that the chaining effect for CLINK, WLINK, ALINK and SLINK progresively worsens from CLINK to SLINK in the same order. The study also provides important guidelines to designers of a CMS in selecting the most efficient algorithm for a given problem data. Several important statistical results are also presented.  相似文献

Sodium metabisulphite (Na2S2O5) has been found to initiate the aqueous polymerisation of methyl methacrylate (MMA) at 35°C in phosphate buffer solutions of pH 6.85 and a constant ionic strength (μ) of the media in an inert atmosphere of pure nitrogen. The reaction has a well defined induction period which is a function of the concentrations of the initiator, of the monomer and also of temperature. The polymerisation is signalled by the sudden appearance of a haze at the end of the induction period in a given run, and the polymer separates out as a coarse precipitate during the progress of the polymerisation reactions. When the conversion is over 50 per cent complete, the polymerisation media looks like a thick curd if the monomer concentration is relatively high. The rate of polymerisation is found to decrease with conversion or time in a given run, and the initial rate (vp), obtained by extrapolating the linear yield/time versus time curves to zero time, keeping the conversion below 10 percent, is found as where (I) = initiator concentration in the range, (0.26 to 3.94) × 10?3 (mol dm?3), and (M) = monomer concentration in the range 0.019 to 0.141 (mol dm?3). At high initiator concentrations, the rate of polymerisation is found to decrease. In a given run, the viscosity average molecular weights (M v) of the polymers is found to increase quickly with a conversion of up to 25 to 30 percent, and then slowly with the further increase in conversion. (Mv) however is found to decrease with the increase of the initiator concentrations at a given conversion but increases with the increase of the monomer concentrations. Hydroquinone inhibits the polymerisation reactions, whereas air is found to increase the induction period, but later enhances the polymerisation rate in the same run. It has been shown that the bisulphite addition reaction of MMA is not important under the experimental conditions, and the polymerisation occurs by the free radical mechanism. The rate constant (k2) of the reaction, has been estimated from the analytical data as, k2 = 14.62 × 10?2 (dm3 mol?1 s?1) at 35°C.  相似文献
