An experimental apparatus for assessing the thermal stability threshold of refrigerant working fluids is described and results for R-134a (1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane), R141b (1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane), R-13I1 (trifluoromethyl iodide), R-7146 (sulphur hexafluoride), R-125 (pentafluoroethane) are presented. The information is a concern for the design of refrigeration systems, high temperature heat pumps and Organic Rankine Cycles (ORC), for which the above refrigerants are proposed. The method aims to identify a maximum temperature for plant operation in contact with stainless steel and involves the evaluation of four indicators: (1) pressure variation while the fluid is maintained at set temperature; (2) saturation pressure comparison after heat treatment; (3) chemical analysis; and (4) vessel visual inspection after the test session. The highest temperatures at which no evident degradation occured are: 368°C for R-134a; 102°C for R-13I1; 90°C for R-141b; 204°C for R-7146; and 396°C for R-125. 相似文献

The effect of pressure on the volume of R141, R131, and R132b is reported as volume ratios (the volume under pressure relative
to its value at atmospheric pressure) at six temperatures covering the range 278.15 to 338.13 K and pressures up to 380 MPa
for R141 and R131a. For R132b the same temperature range has been used, but above its normal boiling point experimental arrangements
have limited maximum pressures to below 300 MPa, with some loss of accuracy. Densities have been measured at atmospheric pressure
for each liquid. The experimental data have been used to calculate isothermal compressibilities, thermal expansivities, and
internal pressures: the change in isobaric heat capacity from its value at atmospheric pressure has also been estimated. The
volume ratios for all three compounds can be represented by a version of the Tait equation based on previously reported data
for 1,2-dicloroethane and 1,1,2-trichloroethane with the inclusion of allowances for the substitution in the former of chlorine

A review of the current work in Lisbon on the measurement of the dielectric constant of the liquid phase of some environmentally
acceptable refrigerants proposed as alternative replacements of the chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), responsible for the destruction
of the ozone layer, is presented. Measurements on HCFC 141b, HCFC 142b, HCFC 123, HFC 134a, HFC 152a, and HFC 32 samples of
stated purities of 99.8 mass% or better were performed as a function of pressure and temperature, in the temperature range
from 200 to 300 K and at pressures up to 20 MPa. The ratio of the capacitances of a cell filled with the sample and under
vacuum was measured with a direct capacitance method. The dielectric-constant measurements have a repeatability of 0.003%
and an accuracy of 0.1%. The theory developed by Vedam et al. based on the Eulerian Strain and the Kirkwood equation for the
variation of the modified molar polarization with temperature and density were applied to obtain the dipole moments of the
refrigegrants in the liquid state, to obtain a physical insight of the molecular behavior, and to understand the equilibrium
configuration of these liquids.

The thermal conductivity of new environmentally acceptable fluorocarbons HFC-134a (CH2FCF3), HFC-143a (CH3CF3), HCFC-141b (CH3CCl2F), and HCFC-142b (CH3CCl2F) in the gaseous phase has been measured in the temperature range 293–353 K at pressures up to 4 MPa. The thermal conductivity has been measured with a coaxial-cylinder cell on a relative basis. The apparatus was calibrated with He, Ne, Ar, Kr, N2, CH4, and SF6 as reference fluids. The uncertainty of the experimental data obtained is estimated to be within 2% except for the uncertainty associated with the reference thermal-conductivity values.
