Anisotropic gold nanoparticles have been synthesized by a UV irradiation technique through the interaction of HAuCl4 and a stabilizing agent, poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP). The effect of irradiation time on the size and shape of gold nanoparticles was investigated by UV-visible spectroscopy and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The absorption spectra of all samples show a broad band with the characteristic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak visible at around 530 nm. The presence of an additional low intensity absorption peak at a longer wavelength suggests the presence of non-spherical nanoparticles. The TEM measurements show evidence of particle shapes such as spheres, hexagons, decahedrons and truncated triangles as the reaction proceeded from 5 min to 24 h. The variation in particle shape is probably due to the effect of the reduced gold to PVP ratio as the reaction proceeds. 相似文献

A detailed study of electrical conduction mechanism in bimetallized ferrocene-doped polyvinyl pyrrolidone films was carried
out. The measurements were carried out on films of about 20 μm thick, in the field range of (2.0–8.0) x 104 V/cm at temperatures ranging from 363 to 423 K. An investigation of the effect of impurity such as ferrocene in the polymer
matrix was undertaken. Lowering of activation energy and increase in current due to doping were observed. The results showed
that the charge carriers were generated by field-assisted lowering of coulombic barriers at the traps and were conducted through
the bulk of the material by a hopping process between the localized states by a Jonscher-Ansari modified Poole-Frenkel mechanism.
The dependence of current and activation energy on the ferrocene concentration is explained on the basis of charge transfer

Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) were blended to synthesize hydrogels by 60Co γ-ray irradiation. A series of hydrogels were prepared with three compositions, i.e. PVP:CMC = 5:5, 6:4 and 7:3. The properties of the hydrogels such as gel fraction, gel strength, swelling behavior and moisture retention were investigated. Compared with pure PVP and CMC hydrogels, PVP/CMC blend hydrogels possessed improved gel strength, flexibility and transparency. As the content of PVP in PVP/CMC blend hydrogels increased, the gel fraction increased while the swelling rate decreased. The hydrogels with optimal properties were obtained in a composition of PVP/CMC = 6/4 with sterilization dose (25 kGy) and further characterized by FT-IR and SEM. Properties concerning the application of wound dressing were performed by comparison with a commercial hydrogel wound dressing to find a similar moisture retention capability and improved swelling rate. The improved properties as well as the cheapness of the materials suggest that PVP/CMC blend hydrogel can be good candidate as wound dressing. 相似文献

Sorbitol is a useful agro-based substance that is inexpensive and commercially available. In the interest of adding value to bio-based raw materials, we have synthesized polyurethanes from sorbitol and toluene-2,4-diisocyanate (TDI) through both conventional heat and microwave processes. Relative to conventional heat, the microwave process achieved the same reaction at a faster rate, thereby saving time and energy. The nature of the resulting polyurethane products depended on the stoichiometry of the reaction. At increasing TDI levels, a viscous liquid, a soft gel, or a hard thermoset could be obtained. The polymers were fully characterized with 13C-NMR, Fourier transform infrared, size exclusion chromatography, and thermogravimetric analysis. The polyurethanes obtained near the gel point could be used to make semiinterpenetrating polymer networks (semi-IPNs) with a second polymer, thereby imparting some of the properties of the second polymer onto the sorbitol-based polyurethane.
