Spontaneous vitrification is a phenomenon where a crystalline phase transforms to the amorphous phase on annealing at low temperatures. It has been reported to occur in several binary alloy systems. This phenomenon has been widely investigated in the Ti–Cr system through experiments as well as thermodynamic modeling. The models reported in literature suffer from several drawbacks. They are not consistent with experimental observations. These models treat this non-equilibrium process as an essentially equilibrium process albeit involving two meta-stable phases. The thermodynamics of the “spontaneous vitrification” process has been modeled using the concept of Transformation Diagrams. This method considers the thermodynamics of non-equilibrium phase transformation and does not involve assumptions of equilibrium at any stage. A significant conclusion derived from the present model is that it is the close-packed hcp structure that transforms to the amorphous phase whereas the transformation of the relatively open bcc structure to the amorphous phase is forbidden thermodynamically. In this paper, the effect of test temperature on the transformation ratchetting of super-elastic NiTi shape memory alloy was first investigated in the cyclic tension-unloading tests. It is shown that all the residual strain, dissipation energy, the start stress of martensite transformation and their evolutions during the cyclic loading depend greatly upon the test temperature. Based on the experimental observations, a new one-dimensional constitutive model is constructed by considering two different inelastic deformation mechanisms (i.e., martensite transformation and transformation-induced plasticity). The proposed model employs a new evolution rule of transformation-induced plasticity which considers the physical mechanism of the plastic deformation, i.e., the dislocation slipping in the austenite phase near the austenite–martensite interfaces. Furthermore, the interaction between dislocation and martensite transformation is also taken into account in the proposed model. The capability of the proposed model to predict the uniaxial temperature-dependent transformation ratchetting of NiTi shape memory alloy is verified by comparing the predictions with the experimental data. 相似文献

We study the problem of disseminating data of time-constrained services through multiple broadcast channels. By time-constrained services, we mean those services whose data must reach clients before a certain constrained time. Otherwise, the data would become useless or substantially less valuable to the clients. We first explore the difficulties of solving the problem and derive the theoretical minimum number of channels required for the task. Then, we propose a transformation-based data allocation (TDA) algorithm that guarantees to fulfill the task (i.e., all requested data reach the clients within the constrained time) by using the minimum number of channels. Deformation dilatometry has been used to simulate controlled hot rolling followed by cooling of a Nb-V low carbon steel, looking for conditions corresponding to wide austenite grain size distributions prior to transformation. Recrystallization and non-recrystallization deformation schedules were applied, followed by controlled cooling at rates from 0.1 °C/s to about 200 °C/s, and the corresponding continuous cooling transformation (CCT) diagrams were constructed. The resultant microstructures ranged from polygonal ferrite (PF) and pearlite (P) at slow cooling rates to bainitic ferrite (BF) accompanied by martensite (M) for fast cooling rates. Plastic deformation of the parent austenite accelerated both ferrite and bainite transformations, displacing the CCT curve to higher temperatures and shorter times. However, it was found that the accelerating effect of strain on bainite transformation weakened as the cooling rate diminished and the polygonal ferrite formation was enhanced. Moreover, it was found that plastic deformation had different effects on the refinement of the microstructure, depending on the cooling rate. Conservation laws of mass, momentum, and energy for the thermo-inelastic body in the region involving the moving interface between the solid and liquid are introduced to derive jump conditions of velocity, stress, and energy on the interface as the sequence of local form for the generalized Reynolds transport theorem. The jump condition of energy is revealed to be the generalized Stefan condition for moving interface problems. The finite element formulation is used to analyze the modes of flow, deformation, and stresses in a melting or solidifying process by employing a viscoplastic constitutive equation that describes the mechanical behavior of both the solid and liquid phases. UV-A (near-UV), UV-C (short-UV) and visible-light assisted Fenton-like treatment of Bisphenol A (BPA) was investigated in pure water and raw freshwater samples spiked with BPA. Treatment performances were evaluated in terms of BPA degradation, dissolved organic carbon (DOC) removal and H2O2 consumption rates. Complete BPA degradation accompanied with significant DOC removal was achieved for all studied processes. Increasing the initial solution pH only exhibited a negative effect on treatment efficiencies when bicarbonate alkalinity was used for pH adjustment, whereas the raw freshwater matrix and irradiation type also influenced oxidation rates appreciably. Acute toxicity analysis employing Vibrio fischeri revealed that the inhibitory effect of BPA decreased significantly during the course of Photo-Fenton-like treatment. Several transformation products could be identified via HPLC and GC–MS analyses including hydroxylated phenolic compounds (hydroquinone; 2-methoxy, 1-4-benzenediol; 4-isopropenylphenol; 4′-hydroxy-acetophenone; 1-(4-cyclohexylphenyl) ethanone; 4-isopropylenecatechol; 4-4′-dihydroxybenzophenone; 4-ethyl,1,3-benzenediol), as well as the ring opening products hexanoic acid methyl ester, fumaric, succinic and oxalic acids.
