The warehouse order-picking operation is one of the most labour-intense activities that has an important impact on responsiveness and efficiency of the supply chain. An understanding of the impact of the simultaneous effects of customer demand patterns and order clustering, considering physical restrictions in product storage, is critical for improving operational performance. Storage restrictions may include storing non-uniform density stock keeping units (SKUs) whose dimensions and weight constrain the order-picking operation given that a priority must be followed. In this paper, a heuristic optimisation based on a quadratic integer programming is employed to generate a layout solution that considers customer demand patterns and order clustering. A simulation model is used to investigate the effects of creating and implementing these layout solutions in conjunction with density zones to account for restrictions in non-uniform density SKUs. Results from combining layout optimisation heuristics and density zoning indicate statistical significant differences between assignments that ignore the aforementioned factors and those that recognise it.  相似文献

In this paper, we report the design and implementation of a constraint-based interactive train rescheduling tool, a project in collaboration with the International Institute for Software Technology, United Nations University (UNU/IIST), Macau. We formulate train rescheduling as constraint satisfaction and describe a constraint propagation approach for tackling the problem. Algorithms for timetable verification and train rescheduling are designed under a coherent framework. Formal correctness properties of the rescheduling algorithm are established. We define two optimality criteria for rescheduling that correspond to minimizing the number of station visits affected and passenger delay respectively. Two heuristics are then proposed to speed up and direct the search towards optimal solutions. The feasibility of our proposed algorithms and heuristics are confirmed with experimentation using real-life data.  相似文献

Abstract: Many real‐world visual tracking applications have a high dimensionality, i.e. the system state is defined by a large number of variables. This kind of problem can be modelled as a dynamic optimization problem, which involves dynamic variables whose values change in time. Most applied research on optimization methods have focused on static optimization problems but these static methods often lack explicit adaptive methodologies. Heuristics are specific methods for solving problems in the absence of an algorithm for formal proof. Metaheuristics are approximate optimization methods which have been applied to more general problems with significant success. However, particle filters are Monte Carlo algorithms which solve the sequential estimation problem by approximating the theoretical distributions in the state space by simulated random measures called particles. However, particle filters lack efficient search strategies. In this paper, we propose a general framework to hybridize heuristics/metaheuristics with particle filters properly. The aim of this framework is to devise effective hybrid visual tracking algorithms naturally, guided by the use of abstraction techniques. Resulting algorithms exploit the benefits of both complementary approaches. As a particular example, a memetic algorithm particle filter is derived from the proposed hybridization framework. Finally, we show the performance of the memetic algorithm particle filter when it is applied to a multiple object tracking problem.  相似文献

Given a set of products each with positive discrete demand, and a set of markets selling products at given prices, the traveling purchaser problem (TPP) looks for a tour visiting a subset of markets such that products demand is satisfied at minimum purchasing and traveling costs. In this paper we analyze a dynamic variant of the problem, where quantities may decrease as time goes on. Complete information is assumed on current state of the world, i.e. decision maker knows quantities available for each product in each market at present time and is informed about any consumption event when it occurs. Nevertheless, planner does not have any information on future events. Two groups of heuristics are described and compared. The first group consists of simplified approaches deciding which market to visit next on the basis of some greedy criteria considering only one of the two objective costs. The second one includes heuristics based on a look-ahead approach taking into account both traveling and purchasing costs and inserting some future prediction. Heuristics behavior has been tested on a large set of randomly generated instances under different levels of dynamism.  相似文献

Hub-and-spoke networks are widely studied in the area of location theory. They arise in several contexts, including passenger airlines, postal and parcel delivery, and computer and telecommunication networks. Hub location problems usually involve three simultaneous decisions to be made: the optimal number of hub nodes, their locations and the allocation of the non-hub nodes to the hubs. In the uncapacitated single allocation hub location problem (USAHLP) hub nodes have no capacity constraints and non-hub nodes must be assigned to only one hub. In this paper, we propose three variants of a simple and efficient multi-start tabu search heuristic as well as a two-stage integrated tabu search heuristic to solve this problem. With multi-start heuristics, several different initial solutions are constructed and then improved by tabu search, while in the two-stage integrated heuristic tabu search is applied to improve both the locational and allocational part of the problem. Computational experiments using typical benchmark problems (Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) and Australian Post (AP) data sets) as well as new and modified instances show that our approaches consistently return the optimal or best-known results in very short CPU times, thus allowing the possibility of efficiently solving larger instances of the USAHLP than those found in the literature. We also report the integer optimal solutions for all 80 CAB data set instances and the 12 AP instances up to 100 nodes, as well as for the corresponding new generated AP instances with reduced fixed costs.  相似文献

This report proposes a solution to the open shop scheduling problem with the objective of minimizing total job tardiness in the system. Some practical processing restrictions, such as independent setup and dependent removal times, are taken into account as well. The addressed problem is first described as a 0–1 integer programming model, and is then solved optimally. Subsequently, some hybrid genetic-based heuristics are proposed to solve the problem in an acceptable computation time. To demonstrate the adaptability of these heuristics, some performance comparisons are made with solutions provided by running either a mathematical programming model or certain classic meta-heuristics such as genetic algorithm, simulated annealing, and tabu search in various manufacturing scenarios. The experimental results show that the hybrid genetic-based heuristics perform well, especially the DGA. However, these heuristics require some more additional computations but are still acceptable.  相似文献

针对成本约束有向无环图DAG(directed acyclic graph)表示的网格工作流完工时间最小化问题,提出两个基于优先级规则的迭代启发算法.算法利用并行活动特征定义正向分层和逆向分层两个概念,将其分别引入最大收益规则MP(maximum profit),得到正分层最大收益规则MPTL(maximum profit with top level)和逆分层最大收益规则MPBL(maximum profit with bottom level).两规则每次迭代尽量以完工时间的最小增加换取总费用的最大降低,逐步将分层初始解构造为满足成本约束的可行解.模拟结果表明,两规则在获得较少迭代次数和运行时间的同时,能显著改进MP规则的平均性能,且MPBL优于MPTL.  相似文献

钢铁企业的合同计划和余材匹配的集成优化是解决钢铁企业面向订单生产的关键技术.由于该问题复杂,涉及因素多,求解难度大,对此提出一个带有提前拖期惩罚的联合计划优化的数学模型,并提出一种嵌有"优先适合启发式"的遗传算法.该方法利用背包问题的求解思路改进了染色体的性能,从而加快了遗传算法的求解速度.将该模型及算法应用于实际钢铁企业的计划编排中,取得了满意的效果.  相似文献

时间依赖型旅行商问题(TDTSP)是旅行商问题(TSP)的延伸.在该问题中,任意两节点间的旅行时间(成本)不仅取决于节点间的距离,还依赖于一天中具体时段或节点在哈密顿圈中所处的具体位置.对基于节点所处哈密顿圈中具体位置的TDTSP问题建立相应的数学模型,并提出求解该问题的动态搜索算法.通过实验仿真,验证了动态搜索算法优于目前在邻域搜索领域求解该问题最有效的动态规划启发式算法.  相似文献

The agriculture sector still lacks the tools and models to enhance the utilization of different resources. This paper addresses the vineyard harvesting problem in developing countries, with the objective of optimizing the wine quality and minimizing the operational costs. Heuristics were introduced to better assign the harvesting days to the different grape blocks that exist in the vineyard's field. The quality of the grapes was a key target as it can transform production from a pinnacle wine to a bulk one. We solved several numerical examples for verification and demonstrative purposes and found that our proposed approach finds solutions that significantly reduce the harvesting costs in the vineyard and considerably outperform Branch and Bound algorithm especially for large problems.  相似文献
