Herein, we report the photosensing property of CdS thin films. CdS thin films were coated onto glass substrates via a spray pyrolysis method using different spray pressures. Prepared films were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and optical and photoluminescence spectroscopy. XRD analysis demonstrated the growth of crystalline CdS films with crystallite sizes varying from 26 to 29 nm depending on the pressure. The SEM and EDAX analyses revealed nearly-stoichiometric CdS films with smooth surfaces and slight variation in grain morphology due to pressure changes. Optical measurements showed a direct bandgap varying from 2.37 eV to 2.42 eV due to pressure changes. A photodetector was also fabricated using the grown CdS films; the fabricated photodetector exhibited good performance depending on the spray pressure. A spray pressure of 1.5 GPa resulted in high photoresponsivity and external quantum efficiency.  相似文献

Developing strategies for the production of porous particles with controllable structures using a spray-drying method has attracted attention of researchers for decades. Although many papers have reported their successful production of porous particles using this method, information on how to create and control the porous structures as well as what parameters involving and what formation mechanism occurring during the synthesis process are still not clear. To meet these demands, the present review covers strategies in the spray-drying developments for the fabrication of porous particles with controllable structure. This information is important for optimizing the production of porous particles with desirable properties. Regulation of process conditions and precursor formulations are also explained, including composition, type, and physicochemical properties of droplet and raw components used (i.e., host component, template, and solvent). The electrostatic interactions between the individual components and the droplets are also presented, while this information tends to be neglected in the conventional spray-drying process. To clarify how the porous particles are designed, current experimental results completed with illustrations for the proposal particle formation mechanism are presented. The review also completed with the opportunities and potential roles of the changing porous structures in practical uses. This review would provide information on how to produce porous particles that can be used for advanced functional materials, such as catalysts, adsorbents, and sensors.  相似文献

Spray quality is the critical factor which decides the efficacy of Small Quantity Lubrication (SQL) technology in a high specific energy involved machining process like grinding. Yet, the understanding about spray quality, the actual process mechanics and its effect on machining performance is inadequate. The present work is an attempt to establish a correlation between the spray input variables, quality of the spray and machining performance of SQL grinding through modelling and experiments. Using computational fluid dynamic techniques, the variation of droplet size, droplet velocity, number of droplets and heat transfer coefficient have been analysed at different input parameters and the computed trends have been verified and validated. CFD modelling of spray indicates that it is possible to produce aerosol medium with high heat dissipation ability at moderately high air pressure and low flow rate. It also shows that any increase in atomising air pressure favourably leads to notable increase in wetting area and also results in substantial enhancement in heat dissipation ability. Reduction of residual stress is thus remarkably good. On the other hand, grinding fluid flow rate, if increased, offers significantly better lubricity and reduces the grinding force which also reduces tensile residual stress. Short spell grinding test results are found to be in good agreement with CFD results.  相似文献

Shelf life of probiotic microorganisms can be retained by drying. Spray drying is an economically interesting alternative to freeze drying with that respect. However, the viability can decrease due to the drying process and testing it is laborious and expensive. This research shows that the viability of Lactobacillus plantarum WCFS1 during pilot scale drying can be predicted with kinetics gathered at a single droplet level. Using this approach, it could be demonstrated that the viability of L. plantarum WCFS1 during spray drying is mainly determined by the combination of temperature and moisture content during the first 0.5 seconds after atomization. The combination of a high moisture content and a high temperature appeared most detrimental to the residual viability. Moreover, it was found to be important to take into account the particle size distribution during atomization when predicting viability, since this has a large effect on the moisture content during this first 0.5 seconds. Finally, it was observed that shelf life during storage was mainly determined by the moisture content of the powder. A lower moisture content resulted in a higher viability. Above a moisture content of 6%, shelf life stability rapidly decreased in the applied maltodextrin (DE = 16) matrix.  相似文献

In the present work, transparent and conductive Nd doped SnO2 thin films were deposited via spray pyrolysis. Crystallographic, morphological, optical and electrical characterizations of SnO2 were researched as a function of Nd doping. The XRD analysis indicated the films had tetragonal cassiterite tin oxide structure and (211) preferential direction for NdTO-0, NdTO-1, NdTO-2 and NdTO-3 samples changed to (110) plane for NdTO-4 and NdTO-5 samples. The crystalline size and strain analysis were made by using a Williamson–Hall method. The SEM micrographs showed that all films had homogenously scattered pyramidal and small densely nanoparticles. The optical analysis indicated optical band gap value of undoped film increased with 1 at% Nd doping and then it decreased with more Nd content. The Hall measurements indicated that the highest electrical conductivity was obtained for 2 at% Nd doping content.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline CuInS2 thin films were deposited on borosilicate glass substrates via chemical spray pyrolysis method. The structural, morphological, optical, and electrical properties were studied as a function of increasing annealing temperature from 250 to 350 ̊C. XRD analysis showed mixed phases at lower temperatures with the preferred orientation shifting towards the (112) chalcopyrite CuInS2 plane at higher substrate temperature. The crystallite size increased slightly between 13 and 18 nm with increase in annealing temperature. The optical band gap was determined on basis of Tauc extrapolation method and the Wemple–Di-Domenico single oscillator model. Possible structural and quantum confinement effect may have resulted in relatively larger band gaps of 1.67–2.04 eV, relative to the bulk value of 1.5 eV. The presence of CuxS in the as-deposited and wurtzite peaks after annealing at 350 ̊C play a role in influencing the optical and electrical properties of CuInS2 thin films.  相似文献

A series of spray coating experiments were conducted on an UV-curable, polyurethane-modified, acrylate-based coating formulation with the aim to control defects, coating thickness, and thickness variation. Statistical approaches including design of experiment, residual examination, analysis of variance, and t-test were used in designing the experiments and analyzing data. Viscosity of formulation, atomizing pressure, liquid feeding pressure, distance between nozzle and substrate, and travel speed of substrate were the process variables studied. The ranges of process variables that gave defect-free coating were identified and used in the subsequent experiments to determine process variables and interactions that had significant contribution to the changes in coating thickness and thickness variation. All process variables studied were found to have contribution to the change in coating thickness, but they showed no significant contribution to the variation of coating thickness. No interaction displayed significant contribution. Confirmation tests performed on extra samples prepared with varying coating thicknesses indicated a good agreement with the experimental results. Additional samples were tested for total transmittance, transmission haze, adhesion, surface roughness, hardness, scratch hardness, abrasion resistance, and durability to attack of car wash chemicals. Spray coated samples showed slight improvement in the total transmittance over the uncoated samples, while maintaining the transmission haze and exhibiting rougher surfaces. Only samples with thin coatings were found to possess sufficient adhesion to the substrate. These thin coatings gave improved hardness, scratch hardness, and durability to car wash attack to the level comparable to commercial coated polycarbonate headlamp lenses, whilst giving better abrasion resistance.  相似文献

Hexagonal Boron nitride nanoplatelet (BNNP) with the combination of excellent mechanical properties, high-temperature thermal stability, and self-lubrication is a promising strengthening agent in plasma-sprayed composite coatings. However, it is a significant challenge to produce plasma sprayable feedstocks with homogeneously dispersed BNNPs owing to the intrinsic agglomeration of BNNPs. In this research, three powder preparation processes (electrostatic interaction, ball milling, and shear mixing) were employed to disperse BNNPs in Ni-Cr-Cr2O3 (NCCO) powders. The shear mixing process presents a competitive advantage in powder preparation, providing stable shear force and achieving exfoliated BNNPs homogeneous distribution in the composite powders. The spray drying technique was finally utilized to obtain spherical agglomerated BNNP-NCCO feedstocks with characteristics of relatively smooth surface and uniform size distribution. Hence, shear mixing and spray drying processes are expected to produce large-scale spherical composite powders with a homogeneous distribution of 2D layered nanomaterials for industrial application.  相似文献

The parameters governing the crystallisation of paracetamol using various conventional techniques has been extensively studied, however the factors influencing the drug crystallisation using spray drying is not as well understood. The aim of this work was to investigate the crystallisation of an active pharmaceutical ingredient through evaporative crystallisation using a spray dryer to study the physicochemical properties of the drug and to use semi-empirical equations to gain insight into the morphology and particle size of the dried powder. Paracetamol solutions were spray dried at various inlet temperatures ranging from 60 °C to 120 °C and also from a series of inlet feed solvent compositions ranging from 50/50% v/v ethanol/water to 100% ethanol and solid-state characterisation was done. The size and morphology of the dried materials were altered with a change in spray drying parameters, with an increase in inlet temperature leading to an increase in particle Sauter mean diameter (from 3.0 to 4.4 µm) and a decrease in the particle size with an increase in ethanol concentration in the feed (from 4.6 to 4.4 µm) as a result of changes in particle density and atomised droplet size. The morphology of the dried particles consisted of agglomerates of individual crystallites bound together into larger semi-spherical agglomerates with a higher tendency for particles having crystalline ridges to form at higher ethanol concentrations of the feed.  相似文献

The present work concentrates on some physical investigation of the undoped and Cr doped SnO2 thin films deposited onto precleaned glass substrates by the spray pyrolysis system. The physical properties of the undoped and Cr doped SnO2 thin films were investigated by the X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force electron microscope (AFM), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), four-probe method and double beam spectrophotometer. The undoped and Cr doped SnO2 films display a polycrystalline nature with orthorhombic crystal structure. The linear optical constants energy gap Eg, refractive index n, absorption coefficient α, static refractive index no, oscillation energy Eo, dispersion energy Ed and the Urbach energy of the undoped and Cr doped SnO2 thin films were evaluated. The investigated films exhibit a direct energy gap and their values decrease with the increasing of Cr doping content while the Urbach energy follows a reverse behavior. On the other hand, the nonlinear optical constants (third-order nonlinear susceptibility χ(3) and nonlinear refractive index n2) have been increased with increasing the Cr doping content. Finally, it has been found that the sheet resistance and conductivity of the synthesized thin films were enhanced by increasing the Cr doping content. The 5?wt% Cr doped SnO2 thin film has a high value of the figure of merit among other films.  相似文献
