How critical is the therapeutic alliance in the treatment of sexual offenders? To date such process issues have been neglected in the field of sex offender treatment. This article reviews the literature on the influence on behavior change of therapist features, clients' perceptions, and the therapeutic alliance. Among the many therapist features identified as helpful are empathy, warmth, and being directive and rewarding. Therapists who are aggressively confrontational appear not to foster beneficial changes in their clients. These issues are directly related to treatment issues faced by therapists who work with sexual offenders, such as dealing with cognitive distortions, lack of empathy, and lack of motivation to change. It is well known that angles in composite parts contract as they are cooled down from the curing temperature, this is often referred to as spring-in. It is caused mainly by the significantly different thermal contractions and cure shrinkage's experienced between the fibre direction and the through-thickness direction during the manufacturing process. A number of works have reported on the spring-in of straight angle composite parts. However, little has been done to investigate the distortion of curved flanged composite parts, which will distort differently owing to the introduction of the additional curvature, thus constraint.
In the present work, the distortion of the circularly curved flanged laminates is studied numerically. The finite element method is used to predict the processing-induced distortion of the part with two different approaches. In the first approach, the shear angles of the composite plies are predicted by a draping analysis. The effect of the fibre shearing on the mechanical properties of the laminates is considered in the model used to predict the distortion. The second simplified approach assumes that the in-plane properties of the laminates are isotropic. The results obtained by these two approaches are compared with those obtained experimentally. 相似文献
We have investigated the current pulse width dependence on current-driven magnetization reversal in double-barrier structures
using GaMnAs-based magnetic tunneling junctions (MTJ) in order to clarify the origin of low threshold current density for
current-driven magnetization reversal. Comparing with the case of single-barrier MTJ, the pulse-width dependence reveals that
threshold current density is reduced by double-barrier MTJ. We confirmed that the threshold current density in the order of
104 A/cm2 is estimated considering the effect of current pulse width. 相似文献
The compositions (1 −x)Ag2SO4−(x)BaSO4, wherex=0·01 to 0·6, were prepared by slow cooling of the melt. The extent of the solid solubility of Ba2+ in Ag2SO4 was determined by X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The bulk conductivity of each sample was obtained
using a detailed impedance analysis. The partial substitution of Ba2+ results in the enhancement of conductivity in compliance with the classical aliovalent doping theory. A simplistic model
based on lattice distortion (expansion) due to partial substitution of Ag+ by the bigger Ba2+ has been considered to explain enhanced conductivity. Beyond solid-solubility limit (5·27 mole%) the BaSO4-dispersed Ag2SO4 conductivity follows the usual trend seen in binary systems. An increase in conductivity in this case is discussed in the
light of interfacial reactions and surface defect chemistry. The maximum conductivity in 20 mole% BaSO4 dispersed Ag2SO4 is due to percolation threshold. 相似文献
