Color constancy from invariant wavelength ratios: An algorithm to simplify the chromatic adaptation model

In a recent article on color constancy, the chromatic adaptation model was of a novel type comprising three components separately calculated—hue, chromaticness, and lightness. The constant hue component was a simple calculation of predicted wavelength but the other two components were less direct. This article provides an algorithm to simplify the model's calculation. Calculation is far simpler and more intuitive than conventional models using complex 3 × 3 matrix transforms with their various and contentious adaptation primaries and potential disadvantages (e.g., in brightness and color gamut). Thermodynamics of Hydrogen Production Based on Coal Gasification Integrated with a Dual Chemical Looping Process

The performance of an innovative hydrogen production technology, which is based on a coal gasification system integrated with a dual chemical looping process, namely, chemical looping air separation (CLAS) and calcium looping CO2 absorption (CaL), is evaluated. CLAS offers an advantage over other mature technologies in that it can reduce capital costs considerably. CaL is an efficient method for hydrogen production and CO2 capturing. The proposed technologies are studied by Aspen Plus based on the Gibbs free energy minimization principle. The key factors in terms of reduction temperature, gasification pressure, temperature of water‐gas shift reaction, and water consumption, which proved to have a significant impact on the performance of the whole hydrogen generation process, are discussed. 相似文献

Organic alkyl and aryl phosphites are effective antioxidants and photostabilizers with applications in a wide range of polymers. The primary role of phosphites is to decompose hydroperoxide. However, aryl phosphites are also capable of reacting as antioxidants by affecting the kinetics. In particular, oligomer‐type phosphites have a greater effect on polymer degradation because of their high compatibility, reactivity, and solubility with almost all polymers. Generally, phosphites are sensitive to hydrolysis. In order to overcome this hydrolytic sensitivity in phosphites, a novel hydrolytically stable oligomeric phosphite incorporating a sterically hindered aromatic alcohol (2,4‐di‐tert‐butyl‐6‐methylphenol) that gives hydrolytic stability to the phosphite was synthesized and characterized, and its performance as an antioxidant for polypropylene was investigated. Fe,Zn,Al-pillared montmorillonite (Mt) were prepared by ion exchange reaction. Effect of the Fe/Zn molar ratio in Fe,Zn,Al-pillaring solution on the structural properties of Fe,Zn,Al-Mt was examined. Characterization studies were performed by N2-adsorption/desorption, ICP, FTIR, DR UV–Vis spectroscopy and XRD. The interlayer space, specific surface and volume of micropores of pillared-Mt was 18.8 Å, 157 m2 g?1 and 0.114 cm3 g?1 respectively. Besides, the catalytic performance of Fe,Zn,Al-Mt was analyzed through wet peroxide oxidation of Orange II under mild experimental condition. The results indicated that the catalytic performance of Fe,Zn,Al-Mt was affected by the Fe/Zn molar ratio as following pattern: the obtained pillared solids with lower Fe/Zn molar ratios exhibited better catalytic performance and less iron leaching during the reaction. Moreover, the introduction of zinc into Mt shortened the induction time of reaction and improved the catalytic behaviour. Throughout this work, the chemical oxygen demand removal of OII was 77.1 % after the solution treated by Fe,Zn,Al(3/7)-Mt (defined as the Fe/Zn molar ratio of 3/7 in the pillaring solution) catalyst at temperature of 60 °C and atmospheric pressure of 1 atm. 相似文献

For the first time, we discovered a small proportion of aqueous fraction from Saw Palmetto apart from the fatty acid-rich fraction exhibited pharmacological activity. Therefore, this study aims to explore the anti-tumor potential of red pigmented aqueous fraction of Saw Palmetto, NYG on human hepatocellular carcinoma and its possible targets. Subcutaneous xenograft and orthotopic implantation models of HCC were used to evaluate the tumor inhibitory effect of NYG. Human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cell lines and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) were used as in vitro model. The mRNA expression was conducted by qPCR. Protein expression was monitored by immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry. Cell migration and blood vessel formation were determined by chamber assay and tube formation assay, respectively. Significant tumor inhibition of NYG in dose-dependent manner was observed on subcutaneous xenograft and orthotopic HCC model. NYG has no direct action on cell viability or VEGF secretion of HCC cells. However, NYG reduced in vitro migration and vessel formation activities of HUVEC cells, as well as in vivo intratumoral neovascularization. NYG attenuated extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERK) activation in endothelial cells, which may be associated with the suppression of migration and tube formation of HUVEC. NYG suppressed tumor expansion of HCC via inhibiting neovascularization, and may be potential adjuvant treatment for HCC. 相似文献

An organic/inorganic composite phenolic resin (CPR) was synthesized via silicon particles in situ composite with water‐soluble lignin–phenolic resin. It was observed that silicon particles were uniformly dispersed in the organic matrix. The oxidation activation energies of the pyrolytic products from CPR and commercial phenol formaldehyde resin (PF) were calculated as 173.3 kJ/mol and 102.4 kJ/mol, respectively, by nonisothermal kinetics method. Dumbbell‐shaped silicon carbide nanowires were formed on the surface of the pyrolytic carbon from CPR at high temperature. The oxidation resistance and mechanical properties of the Al2O3‐C refractories bonded with CPR were improved. 相似文献
