本文强调回到地域本身寻找地方特色和建筑个性,拒绝通过模仿古代建筑细节来暂时获得风格与形式上的“和谐”。方案设计借助西安黄土台地的多层高差跌落,采用半下沉的场处理方式,强调场、院、井、巷的空间体验,形成一片绿色,一串场院,一种体验的效果,最终,使千年文化商业街获得与兵马俑景观和西乡士建筑风格的本质意义上的和谐与统一。     

Local government and state control: Municipalising the Northern Territory land councils

If implemented, the recommendations of a recent review of the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 would see relatively strong provisions for Aboriginal people to obtain and manage their traditional lands abolished. A centrally regulated and assimilationist system of local governance would be substituted. The neo-colonial implications of the proposals are masked by liberal rhetoric of community and local democracy.     

Environmental Messages in Multiple-family Housing: territory and personalization

The home and its private outdoor space may be characterized as primary territory. As such, it allows the occupants the opportunity to exert control over the activities and behaviours taking place. This paper examines how certain mechanisms are used to enhance or reflect residential territory and, thereby, promote one's sense of privacy, in the design of the adjoining outdoor spaces of homes in multiple-family housing in Abu-Nuseir, Jordan. Two surveys were conducted in Abu-Nuseir, comprising (1) a questionnaire and (2) a field inspection of the territorial marking and personalization of the immediate outdoor environment adjoining residential buildings. Occupants' use of actual and symbolic barriers as a means of manipulation and personalization is reviewed. Results suggest that the presence of actual and symbolic barriers is interpreted as a deterrent to intrusion and an indication of stronger occupant territorial attitudes. Territorial personalization in the environmental setting of multiple-family housing provides an ecological mechanism indicative of one's membership in a group and domain. Territorial features depend upon their inherent physical qualities, general symbolic meanings and the cultural milieu in which they exist.     

An Evaluation of Public Concerns About Water Management in the Palestinian Territory Pre,During, and Post the National Uprising

We have evaluated the extent of public concerns about water management in the Palestinian Territory (PT) through a survey of the main Palestinian newspaper over the last thirteen years divided in three periods: pre (1984–1987), during (1988–1991), and post national uprising period (1992–1996). The public concern in the PT about various water management aspects was clear and influenced by the prevailing political conditions indicating (1) poor concerns in the first and second period where full Israeli military control of the PT and harsh practices prevailed with relatively more emphasis on regional water issues and (2) extensive-strong concerns in the third period when the peace process started and a partial lift of some of the Israeli water practices took place, along with an increased freedom in expressing public concerns which was granted with more emphasis on local issues and problems. Lack and limitation of water available to Palestinians, alternative solutions, and water quality and pollution control constituted the overwhelming majority of the topics of concern to the public for the three periods studied. Palestinian concerns were always greater than regional ones for the three periods and all of the topics considered. Public concern in the PT about all other water management aspects was poor and negligible especially in the first two periods. A massive increase in public concern has been observed in the third period in which the public expressed their concern over most water management aspects, indicating a possible change in public attitude toward water and water management and reflecting the change of the political status by the start of the peace process and the signing of the peace agreements.

日本第七次国土规划浅析
