Ecology of Vastedda della valle del Belìce cheeses: A review and recent findings to stabilize the traditional production

The increasing request for classic foods has led to a higher demand for cheeses enjoying a “recognition of quality” status. This phenomenon has also affected Sicilian dairy products, in particular protected designation of origin (PDO) “Vastedda della valle del Belìce” (VdB), a cheese traditionally available only during the summer season, but requested year round. The variations of the microbial populations of raw milk among the seasons influence the microbiological quality of the cheeses produced. This review article reports the historical importance of cheeses and the traditional equipment used for dairy productions in Sicily with a specific focus on VdB. The microbial ecology of this cheese is thoroughly discussed. The recent findings to stabilize the traditional VdB production protocol with regards to the microbial composition and the organoleptic characteristics of the final cheeses are reviewed. The selection of starter lactic acid bacteria from PDO cheeses, their in vitro and in vivo application, and, overall, the setup of their inoculation, have all generated a novel production protocol. The innovation was respectful of the traditional discipline, essentially based on the ad hoc biofilm formation on the traditional wooden equipment, and allowed the preservation of VdB typicality. Future prospects are summarized.     

Outcome‐based ventilation: A framework for assessing performance,health, and energy impacts to inform office building ventilation decisions

This article presents an outcome‐based ventilation (OBV) framework, which combines competing ventilation impacts into a monetized loss function ($/occ/h) used to inform ventilation rate decisions. The OBV framework, developed for U.S. offices, considers six outcomes of increasing ventilation: profitable outcomes realized from improvements in occupant work performance and sick leave absenteeism; health outcomes from occupant exposure to outdoor fine particles and ozone; and energy outcomes from electricity and natural gas usage. We used the literature to set low, medium, and high reference values for OBV loss function parameters, and evaluated the framework and outcome‐based ventilation rates using a simulated U.S. office stock dataset and a case study in New York City. With parameters for all outcomes set at medium values derived from literature‐based central estimates, higher ventilation rates’ profitable benefits dominated negative health and energy impacts, and the OBV framework suggested ventilation should be ≥45 L/s/occ, much higher than the baseline ~8.5 L/s/occ rate prescribed by ASHRAE 62.1. Only when combining very low parameter estimates for profitable impacts with very high ones for health and energy impacts were all outcomes on the same order. Even then, however, outcome‐based ventilation rates were often twice the baseline rate or more.

寒冷地区某既有办公建筑围护结构优化改造研究

既有公共建筑能耗中,围护结构节能潜力巨大。以兰州某既有办公建筑为例,采用DeST-C软件模拟围护结构不同材料厚度、窗型,得出系列负荷,通过对数据分析、比较,得出如下结论:外墙外保温适宜材料为50mm的挤塑板,最大热负荷节能率为45.66%;屋面适宜保温材料为65mm的挤塑板,最大热负荷节能率为4.25%;外窗各个朝向全部更换玻璃,推荐选用内张膜中空玻璃(双膜),最大热负荷节能率为7.36%;单独更换南向外窗材料,推荐选用真空镀膜复合中空玻璃,最大热负荷节能率为1.78%。     

电磁环境计算在输电线路数字化设计中的应用研究

导线周围的电磁环境和输电线路的电压等级、回路数、相序等条件息息相关，在进行输电线路设计的时候，需要考虑输电线路附近的电磁环境对周围居民建筑物的影响。利用模拟电荷法等电磁环境计算方法结合输电工程的数据和地形地貌数据计算输电线路导线周围的电磁环境，在三维平台中展示电磁环境曲线，直观反映居民建筑物所处地理位置所受到的电磁环境影响的大小。按照我国针对电磁环境规程规范的相关规定，当房屋在电磁环境影响范围内的时候将予以提示，从而指导输电线路的三维数字化设计。

本文详述了红外反射隔热涂料的国内外研究进展,指出了该领域全色系、多功能、智能变色三个研发切入点,提出彩色及深色建筑涂料市场存在巨大缺口,并认为红外反射隔热填料与红外反射颜料、色浆等技术的结合是建筑涂料未来的发展趋势。     

Ersatzneubau der Kajen im Marinestützpunkt Wilhelmshaven

Replacement construction of quays at the naval base in Wilhelmshaven At the naval base of Wilhelmshaven the quay walls and dolphins of a floating bridge system are being renewed. The existing quays show extensive damage and stability deficits. In particular, microbially induced corrosion (MIC) on the back of the old sheet piling lead to rust corrosion of the old sheet pile walls. Content of the report is the conceptual and structural implementation of the measure quay renewal that has been executed since the beginning of 2013. Special attention is paid to the security of the stock during the construction period, the selected corrosion protection measures as well as the requirements for the installation of combined sheet piling.
