The present work made a comparative study between two purification methods, column chromatography and recrystallization, for compounds derived from cardanol, a by-product of the cashew industry (Anacardium occidentale L.). The compounds were successfully synthesized and characterized, focusing our attention to results obtained in terms of yield, purity, generation of solid waste and amount of solvent used in each purification process. For all the synthesized compounds, the amount of solvent used was greatly reduced in the recrystallization process, with purities above 80%, when compared to chromatographic column, which still demands high amounts of eluent.  相似文献

以马来酸酐接枝共聚改性环氧基腰果壳油(M-CNSL)作为反应性增塑剂,研究M-CNSL用量对丁苯橡胶(SBR)硫化特性、物理性能和耐热空气老化性能的影响,并与芳烃油和未改性腰果壳油(CNSL)进行对比试验。结果表明:不同增塑剂对SBR的增塑作用从大到小依次为CNSL、芳烃油、M-CNSL,而其硫化胶的耐热空气老化性能没有明显差别;加入CNSL的SBR胶料焦烧时间和正硫化时间显著延长,硫化胶硬度、100%定伸应力较小,拉断伸长率较大;在0~25份用量范围内,添加CNSL或M-CNSL的硫化胶拉伸强度和撕裂强度均出现一个最大值,而添加芳烃油的硫化胶拉伸强度和撕裂强度随着增塑剂用量的增大而减小。硫化胶拉伸断面扫描电镜分析结果表明,M-CNSL的加入有利于白炭黑在胶料中的分散,起到了相容作用。  相似文献

The effect of free and liposomal forms of phenolic lipids isolated from rye grains, cashew nut-shell liquid (CNSL) from Anacardium occidentale, and Merrulius tremellosus fruit body on the glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchor-deprived erythrocyte-ghost acetylcholinesterase activity was studied. It was shown that the observed effect distinctly depends on the form of the phenolic lipids available for interaction with the enzyme. The free form of the phenolic lipids decreased the enzymatic activity of GPI-anchor-deprived acetylcholinesterase less than the acetylcholinesterase anchored in erythrocytes ghosts, whereas the same phenolic lipids present in the medium in liposomal form, increased it.  相似文献

In this experimental research, the hydrogen gas at a different flow rate (4 lpm, 8 lpm, & 12 lpm) is introduced into the intake port of a diesel engine fueled with B20 (20% CNSL (Cashew nut shell liquid) + 80% diesel) biodiesel blend to find out the best H2 flow rate. Then, ethanol-blended (5%, 10%, and 15% by volume) B20 blend along with the best H2 flow rate are tested in the same engine to examine the engine performance. The experimental results showed that B20 with 8 lpm H2 flow gives the maximum brake thermal efficiency and subsequently reduces the BSFC. Furthermore, by blending ethanol with the B20 blend, the BTE of the engine is improved further. The 10% ethanol blended B20 blend with 8 lpm hydrogen flow gives the maximum BTE of 37.9% higher than diesel whose values are 33.6% at full load. Also, this fuel combination led to the maximum reduced levels of CO and HC emissions with an increase in exhaust gas temperature and NOx emissions. From the results, the 10% ethanol blended B20 blend with 8 lpm H2 flow dual-fuel configuration is recommended as an alternative to sole diesel fuel.  相似文献

Experimental investigations are conducted to study the effectiveness of protective coating with cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) on coir. CNSL solution has been applied on suitably pretreated coir yarns and coating concentrations are optimized to reduce moisture absorption and microbial growth. Two common cellulose and lignin degrading fungi (Aspergillus niger and Rhizopus stolonifer) have been taken as test organisms. Qualitative and quantitative analyses are carried out to measure fungal growth on untreated and treated fibers. The study shows that treated fibers inhibit the development of fugal growth on fiber surface by 95%. The reduced moisture absorption and improved hydrophobicity of the treated yarns are also reported. Increase in tensile strength up to 17% is noticed. The better properties achieved are explained on the basis of selection of the coating methodology and also the interfacial features of the coatings with the coir fiber. The results indicate the possibility of future application of such treated fibers in geotextiles having better performance compared to the untreated counterparts.  相似文献

Poly(ether ether ketone)s and poly(ether ether ketone ketone)s containing pendant pentadecyl chains were synthesized by polycondensation of each of the two bisphenol monomers viz, 1,1,1‐[bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐4′‐pentadecylphenyl]ethane and 1,1‐bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐3‐pentadecyl cyclohexane with activated aromatic dihalides namely, 4,4′‐difluorobenzophenone, and 1,3‐bis(4‐fluorobenzoyl)benzene in a solvent mixture of N,N‐dimethylacetamide and toluene, in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate. Polymers were isolated as white fibrous materials with inherent viscosities and number average molecular weights in the range 0.70–1.27 dL g?1 and 76,620–1,36,720, respectively. Poly(ether ether ketone)s and poly(ether ether ketone ketone)s were found to be soluble at room temperature in organic solvents such as chloroform, dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, and pyridine and could be cast into tough, transparent, and flexible films from their solutions in chloroform. Wide angle X‐ray diffraction patterns exhibited a broad halo at around 2θ = ~ 19° indicating that the polymers containing pentadecyl chains were amorphous in nature. In the small‐angle region, diffuse reflections of a typically layered structures resulting from the packing of pentadecyl side chains were observed. The temperature at 10% weight loss, obtained from TG curves, for poly(ether ether ketone)s and poly(ether ether ketone ketone)s were in the range 416–459°C, indicating their good thermal stability. A substantial drop in glass transition temperatures (68–78°C) was observed for poly(ether ether ketone)s and poly(ether ether ketone ketone)s due to “internal plasticization” effect of flexible pendant pentadecyl chains. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ABSTRACT

In this study, emission level under different load conditions at constant speed was tested for a one-cylinder Compression ignition engine using preheated cnsl oil & diesel blends and ethanol fumigation. According to the emission characteristics and performance of the engine, the temperature of 80°C is considered to be excellent at preheated state. The various blends are [(Preheated CNSL20?+?D80) +E fumigation], [(Preheated CNSL40?+?D60) +E fumigation], [(Preheated CNSL60?+?D40) +E fumigation), (Preheated CNSL80?+?D20) +E fumigation], [(Preheated CNSL100) +E fumigation] are being examined at 80° C. A new biphenol, 3‐pentadecyl 4,4′‐biphenol, was synthesized starting from 3‐pentadecylphenol and was polycondensed with 4,4′‐difluorobenzophenone, 1,3‐bis(4‐fluorobenzoyl)benzene and bis(4‐fluorophenyl)sulfone to obtain poly(arylene ether)s with biphenylene linkages in the backbone and pendent pentadecyl chains. Inherent viscosities and number‐average molecular weights (Mn) of the poly(arylene ether)s were in the range 0.50 ? 0.81 dL g?1 and 2.2 × 104 ? 8.3 × 104, respectively. Detailed NMR spectroscopic studies of the poly(arylene ether)s indicated the presence of constitutional isomerism which existed because of the non‐symmetrical structure of 3‐pentadecyl 4,4′‐biphenol. The poly(arylene ether)s readily dissolved in common organic solvents such as dichloromethane, chloroform and tetrahydrofuran and could be cast into tough, transparent and flexible films from their chloroform solutions. The poly(arylene ether)s exhibited Tg values in the range 35–60 °C which are lower than that of reference poly(arylene ether)s without pentadecyl chains. The 10% decomposition temperatures (T10) of the poly(arylene ether)s were in the range 410–455 °C indicating their good thermal stability. A gas permeation study of poly(ether sulfone) containing pendent pentadecyl chains revealed a moderate increase in permeability for helium, hydrogen and oxygen. However, there was a large increase in permeability for carbon dioxide which could be attributed to the internal plasticization effect of pendent pentadecyl chains. © 2016 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献
