Some of the main applications of geosynthetics include use as a hydraulic barrier in sanitary landfills, as a reinforcement element and in pavement engineering. In most cases, these materials are subject to the overlapping effects of tensile strength and puncture. This paper presents a review of indirect methods for calculation of stress and strain averages by means of the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) puncture strength test. In addition, a new calculation method is proposed based on the Kirchhoff plate theory, which interprets the behavior of thin circular plates subjected to a uniform normal loading. This new method enables analysis of the stress-strain in each stretch of the geosynthetic. The methodology is applied to four woven geotextiles of different weights. The results of the new calculation method yielded a better stress-strain correlation with direct tensile strength tests, presenting the smallest relative errors compared to the other indirect calculations reviewed. With the aid of a disk and pins, vertical displacement values at different points in the geotextiles were measured and showed good agreement with analytical predictions. Therefore, the static puncture test combined with the new proposed calculation method is a good alternative for determining the stress-strain parameters of geotextile.  相似文献

In this study, a kind of Ni-based superalloy specially designed for additive manufacturing (AM) was investigated. Thermo-Calc simulation and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis were used to determine phases and their transformation temperature. Experimental specimens were prepared by laser metal deposition (LMD) and traditional casting method. Microstructure, phase constitution and mechanical properties of the alloy were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission scanning electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and tensile tests. The results show that this alloy contains two basic phases, γ/γ', in addition to these phases, at least two secondary phases may be present, such as MC carbides and Laves phases. Furthermore, the as-deposited alloy has finer dendrite, its mean primary dendrite arm space (PDAS) is about 30-45 μm, and the average size of γ' particles is 100-150 nm. However, the dendrite size of the as-cast alloy is much larger and its PDAS is 300-500 μm with secondary and even third dendrite arms. Correspondingly, the alloy displays different tensile behavior with different processing methods, and the as-deposited specimen shows better ultimate tensile stress (1,085.7±51.7 MPa), yield stress (697±19.5 MPa) and elongation (25.8%±2.2%) than that of the as-cast specimen. The differences in mechanical properties of the alloy are due to the different morphology and size of dendrites, γ', and Laves phase, and the segregation of elements, etc. Such important information would be helpful for alloy application as well as new alloy development.  相似文献

ASME标准钢板对于短时高温抗拉数据无规定,但设备设计人员在校核时又要用到此数据,于是有些设计文件在技术要求中将ASME II卷表U的数据作为材料验收的标准。针对此种做法引发的争议及涉及的主要问题进行试验验证和分析探讨。研究结果表明,ASME II卷D篇表U中的数据是基于室温抗拉强度保证值,并根据拟合曲线将室温保证值提高了10%得到的,实测数据与ASME规范数据不一致,部分材料在250~350℃存在动态应变时效现象,但仍不满足设计要求。材料经模拟焊后热处理后性能下降,难以到达交货态的要求。给出了短时高温抗拉强度的选用建议。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Study on dynamic tensile properties and atomic chain fabrication of single nanowire, for understanding its dynamic tensile properties and unique physical properties of atomic chain to fabricate atom scale devices, is one of frontier research issues in nano-scale science. However, how to assemble single nanowire on a tensible micro-structure becomes one of the most difficult problems, which severely restricts the development of this research field. In this paper, after the ultrahigh tensible microelectrode chip is fabricated by micro-electromechanical systems technology, hexamethyldisilazane is utilized to improve hydrophobicity of the chip, and then a micro-droplet dielectrophoresis experimental platform and technology is developed to assemble single nanowire on the sensible microelectrode. Experimental results show that accurate and efficient assembly of single Cu nanowire is realized, which contributes greatly to the further research of dynamic tensile properties and atomic chain fabrication. And for guiding the assembly experiments, finite element technology is also utilized to analyze the local micro electro-field around the microelctrodes during dieletrophoresis experiments.  相似文献

Solid solution-strengthened ductile iron (DI) exhibits outstanding mechanical properties due to the high silicon content. The strengthening by silicon addition is limited since additions above 4.3?wt-% lead to embrittlement. For a further improvement of mechanical properties, other alloying elements need to be considered. In the present work, the effect of various copper additions on the microstructure and the mechanical properties of solid solution-strengthened DI were investigated. The results show that no appreciable strengthening can be achieved by copper addition without the formation of pearlite in the matrix. The pearlite content increases considerably for Cu-additions above 0.23?wt-% and is independent of the cooling rate for the cooling conditions analysed.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to scrutinize the use of Calotropis gigantea bast fibers as potential reinforcement in polymer composites. The bast fibers were extracted from the Calotropis gigantea plant bark and some of them were treated with alkali (5 wt.%) solution. The chemical composition, physico-chemical structural properties of the untreated and the alkali treated Calotropis bast fibers were studied. The results of chemical composition analysis indicated that alkali treatment removed most of the non-cellulose materials as confirmed by the FTIR analysis. The X-ray diffraction results exhibited that the crystallinity index of the alkali treated fibers increased in comparison with the untreated fibers, which agrees with the results obtained in the mechanical tests. The tensile strength and modulus of the alkali treated fibers were found to be higher whereas the elongation at break was lower than the untreated fibers. Thermal stability of alkali treated fibers was lower than that of the untreated fiber. Scanning electron micrographs showed roughening of the surface of the fiber due to the removal of the surface impurities and non-cellulosic components on alkali treatment.It can be concluded that alkali treatment is an effective method to improve the surface and mechanical properties of Calotropis bast fibers to be used in composite materials.  相似文献

为了探究X80钢制管过程中应变强化规律及其影响因素,采用厚度22 mm不同厂家生产的6种X80热轧钢板,以相同的JCOE制管工艺生产出 Φ1 219 mm×22 mm规格钢管,并对6种钢板的拉伸性能以及钢板、钢管拉伸性能差异进行了检测。根据检测结果,从化学成分、显微组织等方面分析了制管前后拉伸性能变化的影响因素。分析结果显示,X80钢制管后屈服强度、屈强比有较大幅度的升高,不同材料的升高幅度不同。研究表明,拉伸性能的变化与合金成分无明显的规律,主要与显微组织有关。  相似文献

Because of heat amount is different from peripheral to central of friction welding interface, which is leaded to vary the characterizations along that interface. Current study, respectively, focused on the effect of different friction pressure on micro-structural and mechanical properties of that friction welding joint interface. Presently, these friction pressures are 110, 130, 150 and 170 MPa while kept all other conditions constant. The effects of different friction pressure on welding interface characterization were investigated by EDX, SEM, tensile, compression, impact and hardness tests. The tensile tests carried out on the standardized test piece with diameter 6 mm and 8 mm, thus, compression tests were extracted from the positions of 0°, 45° 90° with test specimen of 4 mm diameter and 6.5 mm length at weld center. Whereas, the impact test pieces were picked up in two positions, the first one is symmetrical, which it obtained to the respect of the rotation axis and the interface, on the other hand, the second one is non-symmetrical with the axis of rotation and symmetrical to the interface, for making the notch head coincide with the center of the welded joint, The obtained results showed that with reducing of friction pressure will present lack of bonding increasing from peripheral toward the welding center, which will responsible on reducing of the mechanical properties such as tensile, compression and impact strength.  相似文献

Glass fibre is a random network structure composed of [SiO4] tetrahedra. The structure contains a large number of defects, which act as crack initiation points. Under tensile stress, cracks undergo crack initiation, stable propagation, failure propagation, and fracture, and the stress that begins after unstable propagation is called the critical fracture stress. When the stress is less than the critical value, the crack is subject to the force of chemical bonds during the crack propagation process, and crack arrest occurs. When the stress is greater than the critical value, the glass fibre will undergo destructive fracture. In this paper, long-term tensile tests were carried out on glass fibre and a glass fibre composite under different constant tensile stress conditions. The fracture times of the glass fibre and glass fibre composite under different tensile stresses were obtained, the critical fracture stress of glass fibre was inferred, and the fracture mechanism was explained.  相似文献
