AbstractSignificant progresses have been made in the past decades in the discipline of materials science, which include, but not limit to, the synthesis of new materials, advancement in analytical and experimental techniques, sustainable and environmentally friendly processing technologies, computational material science and nanotechnology. These developments have major influences on the research and application of heat treatment and surface engineering, and provide new opportunities to engineer the surfaces of new and conventional materials using advanced technologies to meet the ever increasing demands in surface and subsurface related properties. This survey gives a brief review on some aspects of heat treatment and surface engineering which keep pace with new developments in materials science. The specific areas being examined include: (i) advanced analytical techniques; (ii) sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies; (iii) surface engineering of emerging new materials such as intermetallic compounds, shape memory alloys and biomaterials; (iv) the search for superhard coatings and surface nanostructured materials; (v) mathematical modelling of surface engineering systems. 相似文献

A wheel-type mobile robot is simply able to localize with odometry. However, for mobile agricultural robots, it is necessary to consider that the environment is uneven terrain. Therefore, odometry is unreliable and it is necessary to augment the odometry by measuring the position of the robot relative to known objects in the environments. This paper describes the application of localization based on the DC magnetic field that occurs in the environment on mobile agricultural robots. In this research, a magnetic sensor is applied to scan the DC magnetic field to build a magnetic database. The robot localizes by matching magnetic sensor readings against the magnetic database. The experimental results indicate that the robot is able to localize accurately with the proposed method and the cumulative error can be eliminated by applying the localization results to compensate for the odometry. 相似文献

AbstractUltrasonic velocity measurements provide process related information to complement conventional temperature and pressure measurements, since velocity varies with material type and with temperature and pressure conditions. The technique is non-invasive, can be applied directly to the process, and results are available in real time. An ultrasonic virtual instrument has been used on industrial scale extruders in house. Experimental results are presented, showing ultrasonic velocity to be a powerful tool for improving knowledge of polymer melt bulk temperature during extrusion. 相似文献

AbstractThe full expression for the induction time in homogeneous nucleation given by Wu has been evaluated for small critical nucleus sizes. It is shown, using parameters relevant to the Cu-Co alloy system, that Wu's analytical approximation for large critical nucleus sizes holds to quite small values (~10 atoms). 采用SCIENCE软件对南京地区冬季某日一变频空调房间的热环境进行数值模拟,得出了采暖能耗和PMV随外墙构造和窗墙比的变化规律,并通过室内加热量和平均PMV对其进行分析。研究表明:墙体传热系数越低,越节能,随传热系数的逐步减小,节能增加效果减弱;综合考虑南京地区外墙宜选用保温墙24;能耗随窗墙比增大以指数增加,窗墙比每增加10%,能耗增加0.24%~2.74%;围护结构中外墙和窗户对能耗的影响较大,比重分别为50.4%和34.9%;外墙构造对室内热舒适性的影响不大,但窗墙比影响较大,窗墙比越大,平均PMV值波动越厉害,热舒适性越差。 相似文献
