In the present paper, the refrigerant mixture R32/R290 (68%/32% by weight) is investigated as the drop-in replacement for R410A in household air conditioners. The GWP of it is only 22% of that of R410A. Theoretical and experimental investigations are conducted on the performance of the air conditioners working with both R32/R290 and R410A. Experimental results show that the refrigerant charge amount of R32/R290 is reduced by 30.0%–35.0%; the cooling and heating capacities are increased by 14.0%–23.7%. For further reducing charge amount and flammability, the micro-channel heat exchanger (condenser) is employed to replace the finned tube one. Compared with the R32/R290 system using finned tube heat exchanger, the R32/R290 charge amount and the power consumption are reduced by 34.1% and 0.4%, respectively; the cooling capacity and the COP are increased by 6.4% and 6.8%, respectively. 相似文献

The paper presents an extended method for exergy analysis of buildings and Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, according to an energy demand build-up model from the building side to the energy supply side. The HVAC systems comprise a thermal energy emission and control system, a thermal distribution system, an electricity distribution system and an energy conversion system. Energy and exergy that are required by a building and a HVAC system are posed into the external part and classified by different forms of energy carriers. The external part is out of the boundary of the study. The method is illustrated with an office building equipped with low-temperature heating and high-temperature cooling systems situated in the Netherlands. Thermal exergy and thermal energy demands of the building and thermal energy and thermal exergy losses occurring in the HVAC systems are discussed. The building and the HVAC systems to be considered meet standard Dutch energy performance regulations. Nevertheless their overall exergy efficiencies are low in both cases (17.15% and 6.81% subsequently). The exergy analysis also pinpoints that the thermal energy emission and control system and the energy conversion system are the main causes of the exergy inefficiencies in the heating and cooling cases, respectively. 相似文献

Pulse tube refrigerators do not have moving parts in the cold section, and they have low vibration, high reliability, and long life. The expander in refrigerators typically has an inverted U or coaxial shape because this attains a wider absorber area, lower height, and compactness. However, the performance of a Stirling-type pulse tube refrigerator is inferior to that of a Stirling refrigerator. Cooling characteristics of the pulse tube refrigerator greatly depend on the shape of the expander. In this study, an inertance-type refrigerator, which uses ambient air for the working gas, was developed to examine the effect of expander shape. This refrigerator model with changeable expander operated with a Stirling cycle, and it was composed of a reciprocating compressor, after-cooler, regenerator, absorber, pulse tube, hot-end, and inertance tube with reservoir. The following expander shapes were tested: in-line, L shape, L-L shape, and coaxial shape. The effect of expander shape on cooling capacity was examined experimentally and numerically using the model pulse tube refrigerator. The results of experiments showed that the L shape expander had the highest performance and the coaxial expander had the lowest performance. This paper presents an experimental study about the effect of condenser subcooling on the performance of an air conditioning system operating with R134a and R1234yf, under the same operating conditions. For both refrigerants, it has been shown that the COP undergoes a maximum as a consequence of the trade-off between increasing refrigerating effect and increasing specific compression work. At a given operating condition, the system COP increased up to 18% for R1234yf and 9% for R134a. These results confirmed the trends obtained from a previous theoretical analysis, demonstrating that a system operating with R1234yf can benefit more from the condenser subcooling than that with R134a. The experimental results also showed that the presence of an internal heat exchanger significantly reduces the COP increase due to condenser subcooling, since both improvements compete towards reducing the throttling losses. Besides the interference between IHX and condenser subcooling, the use of both simultaneously still yields a more efficient air conditioning system, especially for R1234yf. 相似文献

The energy consumption calculation plays an important role in the analysis of project economic and social benefits. In order to calculate energy consumption accurately, this research presents a water temperature of condenser inlet calculation model of river-water source heat pump unit. The feasibility and calculation error of the model had been analyzed. Additionally, the new water temperature calculation model had been validated via an engineering case. The results showed that the hourly water temperature in 24 h could be replaced by daily average water temperature due to little change of the daily water temperature change. In this case, the calculation error could be less than 5%. It is found that despite water temperature has many influenced factors, there is a remarkable relationship between the daily average water temperature and daily average outdoor dry bulb temperature by data analysis (R2 ≈ 0.9). The influence of river sampling location on water temperature calculation of condenser inlet could be ignored due to slight temperature changes (within 0.15 °C). The method proposed in this paper met the engineering accuracy and provided a very effective method for the engineering calculation of energy consumption of water chilling unit. 相似文献

Desiccant coated heat exchanger provides a promising option for desiccant cooling system, since it can handle sensible load and latent load simultaneously within one component. It is fabricated by coating desiccant material on the surface of conventional fin-tube heat exchanger. In order to enhance the performance of conventional silica gel coated heat exchanger (SGCHE), a novel composite silica gel coated heat exchanger (CCHE) is proposed and fabricated. An experimental setup is built to test and compare the dynamic performance of SGCHE and CCHE. Influences of main operation parameters including water temperatures and inlet air conditions on system performance are analyzed in terms of average dehumidification capacity (Davg) and thermal coefficient of performance (COPth). Optimization of cycle switch modes is also discussed. Experimental results show that CCHE has better dehumidification performance compared with SGCHE. In addition, pre-cooling before dehumidification process is found to be advantageous to both Davg and COPth. 相似文献
