The values of diode-quality factor and reverse-current leakage of Au/Pd/Ti:W/Pd2Si/nSi unguarded Schottky barrier diodes are much higher than expected from silicide/silicon junction-radius induced highfield effects. Experimental Ti-, W-, and Ti:W-MIS structures were built and tested to show that Ti is responsible for the formation of a parasitic Ti-MIS structure around the unguarded-diode perimeter. This parasitic structure is responsible for excessive current leakage and also for an additional unguarded-diode degradation induced by annealing at 400 °C.  相似文献

The capacitive touch panel, a high-resolution position sensor intended for computer displays, must be safe and inexpensive and must sense position accurately in spite of electrical noise, dirt, or direct electrostatic discharge. The implementation discussed uses a quasi-static electric field, applied to a semiconducting coating on the panel surface. A touch draws current from the surface. This current can be used to compute position. If the computation is performed properly, the computed position is independent of touch current and panel coating resistivity. A 10-V pin electronics driver that can output signals with low distortion and fast risetimes for both narrow and wide voltage swings is described. The features combine to eliminate the need for dual drivers, pin cards, or test heads, which simplifies the testing of mixed-technology devices or modules. A high-voltages process module has been added to a standard 1.5-μm digital CMOS process, which allows the driver to be in the same silicon as the timing and formatting circuitry. The conventional usability lab is primarily responsible for testing prototypes and products to determine if customers will accept a new design. Often this testing comes too late in the development cycle to allow major design or product changes to occur. In the Customer-Centered Design Group at Tektronix Labs, the usability lab is a small part of our group's involvement in the entire design life cycle of a Tektronix product. We work with design groups to bring the benefits of a usability lab to all phases of design, beginning with understanding our customer's current system and work processes to assessing the competitor's strengths and weaknesses to simulating and evaluating design alternatives. Our 'lab' is often on the road; meeting with customers where they work, working with design teams to simulate and prototype designs, and evaluating designs with our customers. To keep in touch with customers and to keep product development focused, we feel a usability group must break down the barriers inherent in a conventional testing suite. By breaking these barriers we can better determine what customers need and how these needs are addressed throughout the entire product life cycle.  相似文献

Blind equalizers do not require any training sequence for the initial startup period but rather perform equalization blindly on the data directly. In this paper, a general approach for designing such equalizers for 8-VSB transmission systems is presented. The candidate algorithms considered here include Godard's algorithm (Godard 1980), Sato's algorithm (Sato 1975), the G-pseudo error algorithm using Sato's function and the G-pseudo error algorithm using Godard's function. This paper analyzes these algorithms for the 8-VSB transmission format and recommends the most suitable algorithm. Deconvolution of measurement system effects from pulse response measurements is demonstrated to yield reproducible, accurate characterization of the impulse response (and vector frequency response) of a photodetector or photoreceiver, as well as the intensity waveform of an optical pulse. Calibration is based on a <3-ps FWHM (full width at half maximum) optical pulse and a 50-GHz 3-dB bandwidth electrical sampling system. Vector characterization of a photodetector/photoreceiver to >40 GHz and an optical pulse source to >30 GHz are demonstrated. Calibration and effects of noise are discussed  相似文献
