In [1] a procedure for bias-free estimation of the autocorrelation function is introduced for equidistantly sampled data with randomly occurring samples being invalid. The method incorporates sample-and-hold interpolation of the missing data points. The occurring dynamic error of the primary estimate of the correlation function is treated by a deconvolution procedure with two parameters c0 and c1 with c0+2c1=1, which are the on-diagonal and the aside-diagonal parameters of a specific correction matrix (at all lag times except zero). The parameters c0 and c1 were obtained as a function of the probability α of a sample to be valid by numerical simulation. However, explicit expressions for the parameters c0(α)=12α+2α2 and c1(α)=1α1α2 can be derived, which might improve the usability of the deconvolution procedure in [1].  相似文献

Main challenges for developing data-based models lie in the existence of high-dimensional and possibly missing observations that exist in stored data from industry process. Variational autoencoder (VAE) as one of the deep learning methods has been applied for extracting useful information or features from high-dimensional dataset. Considering that existing VAE is unsupervised, an output-relevant VAE is proposed for extracting output-relevant features in this work. By using correlation between process variables, different weight is correspondingly assigned to each input variable. With symmetric Kullback–Leibler (SKL) divergence, the similarity is evaluated between the stored samples and a query sample. According to the values of the SKL divergence, data relevant for modeling are selected. Subsequently, Gaussian process regression (GPR) is utilized to establish a model between the input and the corresponding output at the query sample. In addition, owing to the common existence of missing data in output data set, the parameters and missing data in the GPR are estimated simultaneously. A practical debutanizer industrial process is utilized to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

The focus of this article is on failure history of a repairable system for which the relevant data comprise successive event times for a recurrent phenomenon along with an event-count indicator. We undertake an investigation for analyzing failures from repairable systems that are subject to multiple failure modes. Failure data representing a cluster of recurrent events from a single system are studied under the parametric framework of a power-law process, a model that has found considerable attention in industrial applications. Some interesting and nonstandard asymptotic results ensue in this context that are discussed in detail. Extensive simulation has been carried out that supplements the theoretical findings. An extension to the case where the specific cause of failure may be missing is investigated in detail. The methodology has been implemented on recurrent failure data obtained from a warranty claim database for a fleet of automobiles. The amount and variety of digital data currently being generated, stored and analyzed, including images, videos, and time series, have brought challenges to data administrators, analysts and developers, who struggle to comply with the expectations of both data owners and end users. The majority of the applications demand searching complex data by taking advantage of queries that analyze different aspects of the data, and need the answers in a timely manner. Content-based similarity retrieval techniques are well-suited to handle large databases, because they enable performing queries and analyses using features automatically extracted from the data, without users’ intervention. In this paper, we review and discuss the challenges posed to the database and related communities in order to provide techniques and tools that can meet the variety and veracity characteristics of big and complex data, while also considering the aspects of semantical preservation and completeness of the data. Examples and results obtained over a two-decade-long experience with real applications are presented and discussed.  相似文献

In recent years, information and sensing technologies have been applied to the construction industry to collect and provide rich information to facilitate decision making processes. One of the applications is using location data to support autonomous crane safety monitoring (e.g., collision avoidance and dangerous areas control). Several location-aware wireless technologies such as GPS (Global Positioning System), RFID (Radio-frequency identification), and Ultra-Wide Band sensors, have been proposed to provide location information for autonomous safety monitoring. However, previous studies indicated that imperfections (errors, uncertainty, and inconsistency) exist in the data collected from those sensors and the data imperfections have great impacts on autonomous safety monitoring system performance. This paper explores five computationally light-weight approaches to deal with the data imperfections, aiming to improve the system performance. The authors built a scaled autonomous crane safety monitoring testbed with a mounted localization system to collect location data and developed five representative test cases based on a live construction jobsite. Seven hundred and sixty location readings were collected at thirty-eight test points from the sensors. Those location data was fed into the reasoning mechanisms with five approaches to generate the safety decisions at those thirty-eight test points and evaluate system performance in terms of precision, recall and accuracy. The results indicate that system performance can be improved if at least ten position readings from sensors can be collected at small intervals at any location along the moving path. However, by including additional data such as velocity and acceleration that may be read from devices mounted on workers, localization error may be significantly reduced. These findings represent a path forward to improve localization accuracy by mixing imperfect data from the sensed environment with supplemental input.  相似文献

In this article, we present an information gain-based variant of the next best view problem for occluded environment. Our proposed method utilizes a belief model of the unobserved space to estimate the expected information gain of each possible viewpoint. More precise, this belief model allows a more precise estimation of the visibility of occluded space and with that a more accurate prediction of the potential information gain of new viewing positions. We present experimental evaluation on a robotic platform for active data acquisition, however due to the generality of our approach it also applies to a wide variety of 3D reconstruction problems. With the evaluation done in simulation and on a real robotic platform, exploring and acquiring data from different environments we demonstrate the generality and usefulness of our approach for next best view estimation and autonomous data acquisition.  相似文献

The expected number of maxima and level crossings of a continuous stationary Gaussian process and the discrete process obtained by sampling the continuous one are evaluated and compared. The ratio of these two values as a function of sampling rate for two classes of spectra is calculated. We present a bandlet-based framework for video inpainting in order to complete missing parts of a video sequence. The framework applies spatio-temporal geometric flows extracted by bandlets to reconstruct the missing data. First, a priority-based exemplar scheme enhanced by a bandlet-based patch fusion generates a preliminary inpainting result. Then, the inpainting task is completed by a 3D volume regularization algorithm which takes advantage of bandlet bases in exploiting the anisotropic regularities. The method does not need extra processes in order to satisfy visual consistency. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed video completion technique.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Reliability field data such as that obtained from warranty claims and maintenance records have been used traditionally for such purposes as generating predictions for warranty costs and optimizing the cost of system operation and maintenance. In the current (and future) generation of many products, the nature of field reliability data is changing dramatically. In particular, products can be outfitted with sensors that can be used to capture information about how and when and under what environmental and operating conditions products are being used. Today some of that information is being used to monitor system health and interest is building to develop prognostic information systems. There are, however, many other potential applications for using such data. In this article we review some applications where field reliability data are used and explore some of the opportunities to use modern reliability data to provide stronger statistical methods to operate and predict the performance of systems in the field. We also provide some examples of recent technical developments designed to be used in such applications and outline remaining challenges.  相似文献
