A novel TiNb fibre with an α-Al2O3 coating was fabricated by cathodic plasma electrolytic deposition (CPED), which has enormous potential for use in intermetallic matrix composites (IMMCs). This study aims to clarify the microstructural evolution of α-Al2O3 coatings on TiNb fibres and to systematically evaluate the mechanical properties of such modified fibres. The results revealed that the CPED process can be divided into three stages as voltage and deposition time increased: gas film formation, spark discharge, and spark fading, where the coating successively underwent local nucleation, uniform deposition, micropore self-sealing, and loose structure formation. The optimum deposition parameters of the deposition voltage of 300–400 V and deposition time of 3–4 min were determined, under which the α-Al2O3 coating combined tightly with the TiNb fibre matrix, micropores were completely self-sealed, and the loose structure and detrimental phase transitions in TiNb were effectively avoided. The fracture strength calculated by the Weibull method suggested that the fracture strength of the modified Al2O3/TiNb fibre was enhanced by more than 30%; this improved strength maintained high stability, benefiting from the intact α-Al2O3 ceramic coating. In particular, the fibre coated at 300 V for 4 min had the highest strength reaching 1620 MPa. The fracture morphology presented marked necking and shear lip characteristics, indicating excellent plasticity. 相似文献
Dehydrins (DHNs) play an important role in abiotic stress tolerance in a large number of plants, but very little is known about the function of DHNs in pepper plants. Here, we isolated a Y1SK2-type DHN gene “CaDHN3” from pepper. To authenticate the function of CaDHN3 in salt and drought stresses, it was overexpressed in Arabidopsis and silenced in pepper through virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS). Sub-cellular localization showed that CaDHN3 was located in the nucleus and cell membrane. It was found that CaDHN3-overexpressed (OE) in Arabidopsis plants showed salt and drought tolerance phenotypic characteristics, i.e., increased the initial rooting length and germination rate, enhanced chlorophyll content, lowered the relative electrolyte leakage (REL) and malondialdehyde (MDA) content than the wild-type (WT) plants. Moreover, a substantial increase in the activities of antioxidant enzymes; including the superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), ascorbate peroxidase (APX), and lower hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) contents and higher O2•− contents in the transgenic Arabidopsis plants. Silencing of CaDHN3 in pepper decreased the salt- and drought-stress tolerance, through a higher REL and MDA content, and there was more accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the CaDHN3-silenced pepper plants than the control plants. Based on the yeast two-hybrid (Y2H) screening and Bimolecular Fluorescence Complementation (BiFC) results, we found that CaDHN3 interacts with CaHIRD11 protein in the plasma membrane. Correspondingly, the expressions of four osmotic-related genes were significantly up-regulated in the CaDHN3-overexpressed lines. In brief, our results manifested that CaDHN3 may play an important role in regulating the relative osmotic stress responses in plants through the ROS signaling pathway. The results of this study will provide a basis for further analyses of the function of DHN genes in pepper. 相似文献

Water electrolysis is the most clean and high-efficiency technology for production of hydrogen, an ultimate clean energy in future. Highly efficient non-noble electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) are desirable for large scale production of hydrogen by water electrolysis. Especially, exposing as many active sites as possible is a vital way to improve activities of the catalysts. Herein, a series of new hydrangea like composite catalysts of ultrathin Mo2S3 nanosheets assembled uprightly and interlacedly on N, S-dual-doped graphitic biocarbon spheres were facilely prepared. The unique structure endowed the catalysts highly exposed edge active sites and prominently high activities for HER. Especially, the optimized catalyst Mo2S3/NSCS-50 exhibited as low as 106 mV of overpotential at 10 mA/cm2 (denoted as ?10). The catalyst also showed low Tafel slope of 53 mV/dec, low electron transfer resistance of 34 Ω and high stability evidenced by the result that the current density only attenuated 11.7% after 10 h i-t test. The catalyst has shown broad prospect for commercial application in water electrolysis. 相似文献

The Muskingum-based (MK-based) distributions and their probability weighted moments (PWMs) have been used for frequency calculation of hydrological data that contain zero values. However, the performance of different MK-based distributions have not been compared and evaluated. Moreover, the partial L-moments (PLMs), which are used for analyzing censored samples, have not been used for frequency calculation of such hydrological data. To obtain the most effective method, this study compares and evaluates the performance of four MK-based distributions by fitting 64 monthly precipitation series and using the ordinary least square (OLS) criterion, Akaike information criterion (AIC), residual square sum criterion (RSS), and the Quasi-optimal Deterministic coefficient (QD). The distributions include ?exponential distribution combines with Dirac delta function (M-like), two-parameter gamma distribution (GA2) combines with Dirac delta function (DGA2), two-parameter generalized Pareto distribution combines with Dirac delta function (DGP2), and two-parameter Weibull distribution (WB2) combines with Dirac delta function (DWB2). The applicability of PLMs were also tested and PLMs of four traditional distributions, including GA2, WB2, generalized extreme value distribution (GEV) and three-parameter generalized Pareto distribution (GP3) were used in application. Results showed that the PLMs are feasible for frequency calculation of hydrological data with zeros. The DGP2 and GP3 are superior to the other MK-based distributions and traditional distributions, respectively. The DGP2 distribution is the optimal choice in most cases and is more universal than the other distributions.
Metal/carbon composite materials are highly promising electrocatalysts for water electrolysis. In this work, three composites of metal cobalt nanoparticles highly dispersed in N-doped carbon materials were facilely constructed by pyrolysis of different phenylenediamine based Schiff base-Co complexes (PDBs). Interestingly, the composites derived from PDBs based on different phenylenediamine exhibited different morphologies. The superior case is that rodlike composite catalyst was derived from o-phenylenediamine based PDBs. The obtained catalyst exhibited remarkable performances for both cathodic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER), as well as overall water electrolysis. Only 172 and 289 mV of overpotentials and 1.57 V of cell voltage were exhibited at 10 mA cm?2 for HER, OER and water splitting in 1.0 M KOH, respectively. The catalyst also displayed robust stability and high Faraday efficiency, and thus are potential high-performance catalyst for commercial water electrolysis. 相似文献
