Solid desiccant air-conditioning systems present a promising solution, in terms of performance level and environmental protection, pointing out their potential to be coupled with thermal solar or waste heat energy source. Nevertheless, these systems are characterized by constraints to the load they can satisfy, through the trade-off between the dehumidification cooling capacity and the latent load of the conditioned space. On that level, one has to note that, for steady environmental conditions, the conditioned space does not present unique value of load, but range of load, corresponding to an array of acceptable temperature and (usually relative) humidity values. In this work a methodology is proposed for the definition of the system's achievable working range under specific set of space (comfort) requirements. Through this approach, the systems present greater potential for covering the space requirements, thus presenting more possibilities on a design basis, and more flexible control strategies, as well. Shanghai is characteristic of subtropical monsoonal climate with the mean annual temperature of 17.6 °C, and receives annual total radiation above 4470 MJ/m2 with approximately 2000 h of sunshine. A solar energy system capable of heating, cooling, natural ventilation and hot water supply has been built in Shanghai Research Institute of Building Science. The system mainly contains 150 m2 solar collector arrays, two adsorption chillers, floor radiation heating pipes, finned tube heat exchangers and a hot water storage tank of 2.5 m3 in volume. It is used for heating in winter, cooling in summer, natural ventilation in spring and autumn, hot water supply in all the year for 460 m2 building area. The whole system is controlled by an industrial control computer and operates automatically. Under typical weather condition of Shanghai, it is found that the average heating capacity is up to 25.04 kW in winter, the average refrigerating output reaches 15.31 kW in summer and the solar-enhanced natural ventilation air flow rate doubles in transitional seasons. The experimental investigation validated the practical effective operation of the adsorption cooling-based air-conditioning system. After 1-year operation, it is confirmed that the solar system contributes 70% total energy of the involved space for the weather conditions of Shanghai. 相似文献

In the present study, water vapor adsorption onto silica-gel, activated carbon powder (ACP) and activated carbon fiber (ACF) has been experimentally measured at 20, 30 and 50 °C using a volumetric method based adsorption measurement apparatus for greenhouse air-conditioning (AC). The Guggenheim–Anderson–De Boer and Dubinin–Astakhov adsorption models are used to fit the adsorption data of silica-gel and ACP/ACF, respectively. The isosteric heat of adsorption is determined by Clausius–Clapeyron relationship. The adsorbents are evaluated for low-temperature regeneration with aim to develop solar operated AC system for greenhouses. Ideal growth zone for agricultural products is determined by which the steady-state desiccant AC cycle is evaluated on the psychometric chart and adsorption isobars.Steady-state moisture cycled (MCSS) by each adsorbent is determined for demand category-I, II and III which are based on 60%, 40% and 20% relative humidity of dehumidified air, respectively. In case of demand category-I, the ACP enables maximum MCSS at all regeneration temperatures (Treg), ideally sitting at 47 °C. The ACF enables double MCSS as compared to silica-gel during demand category-II at Treg ≥59 °C. However, the silica-gel is found the only applicable adsorbent for the demand category-III. 相似文献

Compensation of flow maldistribution in multi-channel fin-and-tube evaporators for residential air-conditioning is investigated by numerical modeling. The considered sources of maldistribution are distribution of the liquid and vapor phases in the distributor and non-uniform airflow distribution. Fin-and-tube heat exchangers usually have a predefined circuitry, however, the evaporator model is simplified to have straight tubes, in order to perform a generic investigation. The compensation of flow maldistribution is performed by control of the superheat in the individual channels. Furthermore, the effect of combinations of individual maldistribution sources is investigated for different evaporator sizes and outdoor temperatures. It is shown that a decrease in cooling capacity and coefficient of performance by flow maldistribution can be compensated by the control of individual channel superheat.
