This paper proposes an integrated approach to identify, evaluate and improve the potential failures in a service setting. This integrated approach combines Fuzzy cost‐based service‐specific FMEA (FCS‐FMEA), Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) and profitability theory for better prioritization of the service failures by considering cost as an important issue and using the profitability theory in a way that the corrective actions costs are taken into account. Considering profitability with FCS‐FMEA and GRA reduces the losses caused by failure occurrence. Besides, a maximization linear mathematical problem is used to select the best mix of failures to be repaired. We apply our approach to an academic example concerning the potential failures diagnosis of the Internal Medicine service of a hospital located in Seoul, Korea. We applied our approach and solved the associated maximization problem by a commercial solver, producing an optimal solution which indicates the most convenient mix of failures to be repaired by considering available budget. Fault-tolerance analysis reveals possible system behavior under the influence of faults. Such analysis is essential for satellites where faults might be caused by space radiation and autonomous recovery is needed. In this paper we present a statistical simulation approach for fault-tolerance analysis of satellite On-Board Computers (OBCs) that are based on Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components. Since the logic level of COTS electronics is unknown to satellite designers, a new higher-level fault-tolerance analysis is required. We propose such technique that relies on OBC modeling and fault modeling, based on the modeling principle of Single-Event Upsets (SEUs). For the first time we can compare the efficiency of fault-tolerance techniques implemented in software and Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). In addition, our approach enables to analyze system fault-tolerance at early development stages. In a case study the approach is applied to an OBC with a Microsemi SmartFusion SoC, that executes a satellite attitude control algorithm. The gained statistical simulation results enabled 50% reduction in the hardware overhead of the implemented memory scrubbing technique without loss in fault-tolerance. From the aspect of the development of a country, the energy sector represents a domain of strategic interest. Generation and use of energy resources most often belongs to the public sector, and are most often under the influence of the government in most countries. This paper analyzes the risks that are characteristic to the business of the public enterprise, Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS). EPS has started its restructuring and is adjusting to changes and challenges imposed by the launched reforms in the energy sector. However, due to certain limitations, it is still not possible to implement its complete restructuring and modernization. The paper aims to point at the risks a potential strategic partner faces. The risks have been identified as commercial, financial and political, classification immanent for project finance, and their evaluation was done using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Risk analysis was performed based on current conditions for two potential scenarios that predict different types of changes in the analyzed period. The results of the analysis show that the potential strategic partner should pay special attention to price risks, estimation, investments, project activity neglect, quasi-risks and debt collection. 相似文献

ABSTRACT Business enterprises are increasingly realizing the importance of business continuity management (BCM). Availability BS 25999 Standard has facilitated a consistent methodology that organizations can follow in designing their BCM System. This paper intends to provide a conceptual understanding of BCM right from BCM Policy to BCM maturity by describing the steps involved in the implementation of BCM Standard – BS 25999 – to ensure business continuity in the event of an outage. The key BCM tasks have been categorized into three phases of business continuity – Pre-event Preparation, Event Management, and Post-event Continuity. This paper also highlights some of the challenges experienced by the author in carrying out Risk Assessment and Business Impact Analysis. 为合理有效地利用失效模式与后果分析(potential failure mode and effects analysis,FMEA)知识,针对在解决制造过程中进行质量问题的分析和处理时,由于受现场人员知识和经验水平的制约而使分析结果具有极大的不确定性问题,提出了基于本体论构建的FMEA知识库,对FMEA过程形成的知识进行有效提取和集成.研究了FMEA知识的获取和分类,建立了一个基于本体的FMEA知识表示模型,并给出了一个基于本体的FMEA知识库框架结构,讨论了基于本体的FMEA知识检索和知识库的维护.通过FMEA知识库的建立,为质量问题的处理和分析提供了一个有效的决策支持途径. 相似文献
