On the basis of a cylindrical quantum well model, a self-consistent theory of tunneling perimeter-magnetoplasmon (TPMP) in a ring superlat-tice is proposed. A new TPMP branch is found as a result of the electron tunneling in the superlattice direction. Lntrasubband excitation with angular quantum numbers is studied in a tight-binding approximation. Moreover, in the presence of a strong longitudinal magnetic field, we have found that the electric quantizations caused by the lateral confinements may be destroyed by the strong magnetic field and when the applied field is larger than a critical magnetic field the quantized energy levels associated with the radial quantum numbers(n = 2,3,…) are completely smeared out, except the first radial quantized energy level associated with n = l. Using the results obtained, we have explained an unexpected experimental phenomenon related to the damping of oscillations of DOS in a quasi-one dimensional wire under a strong longitudinal magnetic field. 相似文献
