A simple mathematical analysis on the effect of sand in Cr(VI) reduction using zero valent iron 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A simple mathematical model was proposed to analyze the enhancement of Cr(VI) reduction when sand materials are added to the
zero valent iron (ZVI). Natural decay of Cr(VI) in a control experiment was analyzed by using a zero-order decay reaction.
Adsorption kinetics of Cr(VI) to sand was modeled as a first-order reversible process, and the reduction rate by ZVI was treated
as a first-order reaction. Natural decay of Cr(VI) was also included in other experiments, i.e., the adsorption to sand, the
reduction by ZVI, and both adsorption and reduction when sand and ZVI are present together. The model parameters were estimated
by fitting the solution of each model to the corresponding experimental data. To observe the effect of sand addition to ZVI,
both adsorption and reduction rate models were considered simultaneously including the natural decay. The solution of the
combined model was fitted to the experimental data to determine the first-order adsorption and reduction rate constants when
sand as well as ZVI is present. The first-order reduction rate constant in the presence of sand was about 35 times higher

A new insight into the promotion action of Co2+ on both particle and metal deposition in Ni-diamond composite electrodeposition system was analyzed according to electrochemical measurements. The results showed that the addition of Co2+ made particles content in deposits increased remarkably. The change of particles content in deposits was related inversely to the change of cathodic zero potential with the increase of the concentration of cobalt sulfate. Zero charge potential of cathode was shifted to much more negative region. The negative shift of the zero potential, combining with positive shift of the zeta potential, increased the electrostatic force between the particle-adsorbed metallic cations and the cathode. It not only benefits to the transportation of particles in solution towards cathode, but also shortens their residence time on cathodic surface. Meanwhile, entry of particles is also promoted. For metals deposition, reduction resistance of metallic cations rises greatly and deposition current at cathodic potentiodynamic polarization decreases after cobalt sulfate has been added into electrolyte. These factors are favorable for increasing particles content in deposits. In addition, physical model of diamond particles deposition state before and after the addition of Co2+ has been discussed. 相似文献

We propose an efficient time-splitting Chebyshev-Tau spectral method for the Ginzburg-Landau-Schrödinger equation with zero/nonzero far-field boundary conditions. The key technique that we apply is splitting the Ginzburg-Landau-Schrödinger equation in time into two parts, a nonlinear equation and a linear equation. The nonlinear equation is solved exactly; while the linear equation in one dimension is solved with Chebyshev-Tau spectral discretization in space and Crank-Nicolson method in time. The associated discretized system can be solved very efficiently since they can be decoupled into two systems, one for the odd coefficients, the other for the even coefficients. The associated matrices have a quasi-tridiagonal structure which allows a direction solution to be obtained. The computation cost of the method in one dimension is O(Nlog(N)) compared with that of the non-optimized one, which is O(N2). By applying the alternating direction implicit (ADI) technique, we extend this efficient method to solve the Ginzburg-Landau-Schrödinger equation both in two dimensions and in three dimensions, respectively. Numerical accuracy tests of the method in one dimension, two dimensions and three dimensions are presented. Application of the method to study the semi-classical limits of Ginzburg-Landau-Schrödinger equation in one dimension and the two-dimensional quantized vortex dynamics in the Ginzburg-Landau-Schrödinger equation are also presented. 相似文献
