Communication between organizations is formalized as process choreographies in daily business. While the correct ordering of exchanged messages can be modeled and enacted with current choreography techniques, no approach exists to describe and automate the exchange of data between processes in a choreography using messages. This paper describes an entirely model-driven approach for BPMN introducing a few concepts that suffice to model data retrieval, data transformation, message exchange, and correlation – four aspects of data exchange. For automation, this work utilizes a recent concept to enact data dependencies in internal processes. We present a modeling guideline to derive local process models from a given choreography; their operational semantics allows to correctly enact the entire choreography from the derived models only including the exchange of data. Targeting on successful interactions, we discuss means to ensure correct process choreography modeling. Finally, we implemented our approach by extending the camunda BPM platform with our approach and show its feasibility by realizing all service interaction patterns using only model-based concepts.  相似文献

In many modern enterprises, explicit business process de nitions facilitate the pursuit of business goals in such ways as best practice reuse, process analysis, processe ciency improvement, and automation. Most real-world business processes are large and complex. Successfully capturing, analysing, and automating these processes requires process de nition languages that capture a variety of process aspects with a wealth of details. Mostcurrent process modelling languages, such as Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN),focus on structural control ows among activities while providing inadequate support for other process de nition needs. In this paper, we rst illustrate these inadequacies through our experiences with a collection of real-world reference business processes from the Aus-tralian lending industry. We observe that the most signi cant inadequacies include lack of resource management, exception handling, process variation, and data ow integration.These identi ed shortcomings led us to consider the Little-JIL language as a vehicle forde ning business processes. Little-JIL addresses the afore-mentioned inadequacies with a number of innovative features. Our investigation concludes that these innovative features are e ective in addressing a number of key reference business process de nition needs.  相似文献

When a BPEL process is executed, it is necessary to dynamically monitor the process. BPEL is a executable language, which is not suitable for visual monitoring. On the other hand, BPMN is designed to visually describe business process and is more intuitive for monitoring. To visually monitor a BPEL process, transformation from BPEL to BPMN is necessary. However, current study of transformation from BPEL to BPMN does not support the transformation of "link" activity. Besides, no work has been done to add supplementary information into BPMN during transformation. In this paper, we transform nested BPEL process into a flat BPMN process graph without hierarchy through applying a flattening strategy. Especially, we analyze various scenarios of the transformation of link activity, and provide a method to deal with it. Besides, we analyze the mapping between BPEL activities and BPMN graph, through which we found out that some supplementary information cannot automatically obtained from BPEL process. These supplementary information need to be added during transformation. At the end of this paper, we present the structure of our monitoring tool which is based on our transformation algorithm.  相似文献

The Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is the de-facto standard for representing in a very expressive graphical way the processes occurring in virtually every kind of organization one can think of, from cuisine recipes to the Nobel Prize assignment process, incident management, e-mail voting systems, travel booking procedures, to name a few. In this work, we give an overview of BPMN and we present what are the links with other well-known machineries such as BPEL and XPDL. We give an assessment of how the OMG's BPMN standard is perceived and used by practitioners in everyday business process modeling chores.  相似文献

Activiti 是用于管理业务流程的工作流引擎,它的使用降低了复杂业务流程开发与维护的难度。但在实际应用中,流程节点无法自由跳转,给管理和使用带来诸多不便。本文研究了 Activiti 中的系统框架和接口,基于现有接口设计实现了流程节点自由跳转功能,并进行了框架整合。测试结果表明,该功能满足各项既定功能需求,具有一般性,可满足实际工作中相关要求。  相似文献

The modeling and management of business processes deals with temporal aspects both in the inherent representation of activity coordination and in the specification of activity properties and constraints. In this paper, we address the modeling and specification of constraints related to the duration of process activities. In detail, we consider the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) standard and propose an approach to define re-usable duration-aware process models that make use of existing BPMN elements for representing different nuances of activity duration at design time. Moreover, we show how advanced event-handling techniques may be exploited for detecting the violation of duration constraints during the process run-time. The set of process models specified in this paper suitably captures duration constraints at different levels of abstraction, by allowing designers to specify the duration of atomic tasks and of selected process regions in a way that is conceptually and semantically BPMN-compliant. Without loss of generality, we refer to real-world clinical working environments to exemplify our approach, as their intrinsic complexity makes them a particularly challenging and rewarding application environment.  相似文献
