Hydrometallurgical processing of nontronite type lateritic nickel ores by MHP process

The research work presented in this paper determined the optimum conditions at which nickel and cobalt could be obtained at maximum efficiency from the column leach liquor of the lateritic nickel ore existing in Gördes region of Manisa in Turkey by performing effective hydrometallurgical methods. This column leach solution was initially neutralized and purified from its basic impurities by a two-stage iron removal process, nickel and cobalt were precipitated in the form of mixed hydroxide precipitate from the purified leach solution by a two-stage precipitation method called “MHP” and a manganese removal process was performed at the optimum conditions determined experimentally. By decreasing manganese concentration with this process to an acceptable level yielding at most 10% Mn in hydroxide precipitate, it was possible to produce a qualified MHP product suitable to the current marketing and standard conditions. The experiments conducted showed that by maintaining recycle leaching with sulfuric acid at which 95% of Ni-Co could be recovered from the precipitates, about 81% of Ni and 63% of Co in the lateritic nickel ore (9.72 kg Ni/ton of ore and 0.28 kg Co/ton of ore) could be extracted as mixed hydroxide precipitate by MHP process.

Modified Atmosphere and Modified Humidity Packaging of Fresh Mushrooms

Sorbitol and sodium chloride were used to modify the in-package relative humidity (IPRH) of fresh mushrooms (water irrigated and CaCl₂ irrigated) stored in a modified atmosphere package (MAP) at 12°C. No differences were observed for maturity index and microbial population between mushrooms stored in modified atmosphere package (MAP) with or without moisture absorbers. Lower IPRH was observed in packages containing water irrigated (normally grown) mushrooms with sodium chloride, but resulted in over-drying of mushrooms and did not improve color. Normally grown mushrooms with 10 and 15g sorbitol had the best color. IPRH of 87–90%, within 9 days storage was considered optimum. No improvements in quality were found with moisture absorbers with normally grown mushrooms. However, a small amount of sorbitol helped to avoid condensation with CaCl₂ irrigated mushrooms.

MHP‐OSGi convergence: a new model for open residential gateways

Nowadays, we are living in a time of important technological changes that affect our lives at home and our communication with the outside world. Among them, the developments in Interactive Digital TV (IDTV) and the smart home field can be considered as particularly important. Related to the former, the new Set‐Top Boxes (STBs) are not only a decoder for digital television broadcast but also an entry point to the Information Society and a suitable platform to support the execution of interactive applications. With regards to the latter, the Residential Gateways (RGs) combine different network technologies to allow the connection of different electronics devices and appliances at home, not only with each other but also with the Internet. Since there is no widespread consensus about the configurations and functions of the RGs, we propose to coordinate the two aforementioned worlds by extending the functionality of STBs to become a RG. Our proposal consists of merging the Multimedia Home Platform (MHP), one of the main standard frameworks for IDTV, with Open Service Gateway Initiative (OSGi), the most widely used open platform to set up RGs. To overcome the radically different nature of these specifications—the function‐oriented MHP middleware and the service‐oriented OSGi framework—we define a new kind of application, coined as XbundLET. This application is able to bridge the gap between the two frameworks and make their interaction feasible. We also show how this proposal has the potential to enable the production of scenarios that cannot currently be put into practice in a natural way. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

高精度的大规模程序数据竞争检测方法

随着技术的不断发展,软件系统的非确定性（Uncertainty）不断增强,数据竞争是并发系统这一类典型的非确定性软件系统中常见的缺陷.尽管数据竞争静态检测近年来取得了巨大进展,但其面临的重要问题仍然存在.先前的静态技术要么以分析精度为代价达到高扩展性,要么由于高精度分析而导致可扩展性问题.本文提出一种解决上述矛盾的分段分析方法——GUARD.它首先基于程序值流进行轻量级上下文敏感的数据访问分析,以识别出候选的数据竞争子路径而非完整的程序路径.接下来,进行可能并行执行（May-Happen-in-Parallel,即MHP）分析来确定程序中的两个数据访问操作是否可能会同时执行.MHP分析基于线程流图（TFG）将线程信息进行编码以便于高效地查询各个子路径之间的并发关系.最后,对于每条存在MHP数据访问的子路径,进行重量级路径敏感分析以确定数据竞争路径的可行性.针对12个开源项目的实验评估显示GUARD能够在1870秒内完成对130万行代码的工业规模项目的检测,且平均误报率为16.0%.此外GUARD的分析速度更快,比现有的前沿技术平均快了6.08倍并且显著降低误报率.除此之外,GUARD在其中还发现了12个数据竞争漏洞.我们将它们全部报告给了开发者,其中8个已得到了确认.
