Brittle fracture of high-strength steels at very low temperatures

High-strength steels are used to increase the load carrying capacity of components. However, to guarantee a safe design, it is also necessary to combine high strength with adequate fracture toughness. In this paper, fracture toughness of three high-strength steels with yield strengths ranging from 460 to 890 MPa has been studied at very low temperatures. Taking into account experimental evidence, a new mechanism of cleavage at very low temperatures is proposed. This mechanism considers the possibility of reaching the ideal strength (the stress at which the lattice of a single crystal losses its stability) in the immediate vicinity of the fatigue crack tip. Moreover, a computational model able to calculate the external load needed to produce a catastrophic failure of these steels has been developed.

Ideal-gas thermodynamic properties for natural-gas applications

Calculating caloric properties from a thermal equation of state requires information such as isobaric heat capacities in the ideal-gas state as a function of temperature. In this work, values for the parameters of thec _p ⁰ correlation proposed by Aly and Lee were newly determined for 21 pure gases which are compounds of natural gas mixtures. The values of the parameters were adjusted to selectedc _p ⁰ data calculated from spectroscopic data for temperatures ranging from 10 to 1000 K. The data sources used are discussed and compared with literature data deduced from theoretic models and caloric measurements. The parameters presented will be applied in a current GERG project for evaluating equations of state (e.g., the AGA 8 equation) for their suitability for calculating caloric properties.

850农场地下水资源可持续开采利用研究

850农场是三江平原地下水开采强度最大农场之一,井灌面积占平原面积57.7%,现地下水埋深约5 m,处理想埋深中,地下水用量约405 m^3/hm^2·a,产量还略高于本场渠灌稻。本地区井灌面积达2.07×104hm^2,只要在节水灌溉上下功夫,可达采补平衡。若在雨洪资源化上下功夫,“西水东调”和建河滩“漏水库”,还可发展水田,水田比例由现0.577上升到0.60以上,故此850农场地下水可持续开采利用。

Construction of a key-dependent message secure symmetric encryption scheme in the ideal cipher model

Key-dependent message （KDM） security is an important security issue that has attracted much research in recent years. In this paper, we present a new construction of the symmetric encryption scheme in the the ideal cipher model （ICM）; we prove that our scheme is KDM secure against active attacks with respect to arbitrary polynomialtime challenge functions. Our main idea is to introduce a universal hash function （UHF） h as a random value for each encrypfion, and then use s = h（sk） as the key of the ideal cipher F, where sk is the private key of our symmetric encryption scheme. Although many other schemes that are secure against KDM attacks have already been proposed, in both the ideal standard models, the much more significance of our paper is the simplicity in which we implement KDM security against active attacks.

Ag—Ln（Ln=La,Ce,Gd）液态合金短程有序性的热力学讨论

本文利用理想缔合液液模型，计算了１３００－１６００Ｋ温度范围内，Ａｇ－Ｌｎ（Ｌｎ＝Ｌａ，Ｃｅ，Ｇｄ）三个二元系的热力学数据；认为在液相中存在着Ａｇ３Ｌｎ和ＡｇＬｎ得缔合物，并利用浓度相互作用函数Ｓｃｃ（Ｏ）对这种短程有序性进行了讨论。
