Understanding the asymmetric perceptions of smartphone security from security feature perspective: A comparative study

Smartphones are being used and relied on by people more than ever before. The open connectivity brings with it great convenience and leads to a variety of risks that cannot be overlooked. Smartphone vendors, security policy designers, and security application providers have put a variety of practical efforts to secure smartphones, and researchers have conducted extensive research on threat sources, security techniques, and user security behaviors. Regrettably, smartphone users do not pay enough attention to mobile security, making many efforts futile. This study identifies this gap between technology affordance and user requirements, and attempts to investigate the asymmetric perceptions toward security features between developers and users, between users and users, as well as between different security features. These asymmetric perceptions include perceptions of quality, perceptions of importance, and perceptions of satisfaction. After scoping the range of smartphone security features, this study conducts an improved Kano-based method and exhaustively analyzes the 245 collected samples using correspondence analysis and importance satisfaction analysis. The 14 security features of the smartphone are divided into four Kano quality types and the perceived quality differences between developers and users are compared. Correspondence analysis is utilized to capture the relationship between the perceived importance of security features across different groups of respondents, and results of importance-satisfaction analysis provide the basis for the developmental path and resource reallocation strategy of security features. This article offers new insights for researchers as well as practitioners of smartphone security.     

Newly Isolated Animal Pathogen Corynebacterium silvaticum Is Cytotoxic to Human Epithelial Cells

Corynebacterium silvaticum is a newly identified animal pathogen of forest animals such as roe deer and wild boars. The species is closely related to the emerging human pathogen Corynebacterium ulcerans and the widely distributed animal pathogen Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis. In this study, Corynebacterium silvaticum strain W25 was characterized with respect to its interaction with human cell lines. Microscopy, measurement of transepithelial electric resistance and cytotoxicity assays revealed detrimental effects of C. silvaticum to different human epithelial cell lines and to an invertebrate animal model, Galleria mellonella larvae, comparable to diphtheria toxin-secreting C. ulcerans. Furthermore, the results obtained may indicate a considerable zoonotic potential of this newly identified species.     

Tactile colour pictogram to improve artwork appreciation of people with visual impairments

A recent development in tactile technology enables an improvement in the appreciation of the visual arts for people with visual impairment (PVI). The tactile sense, in conjunction with, or a possibly as an alternative to, the auditory sense, would allow PVIs to approach artwork in a more self‐driven and engaging way that would be difficult to achieve with just an auditory stimulus. Tactile colour pictograms (TCPs), which are raised geometric patterns, are ideographic characters that are designed to enable PVIs to identify colours and interpret information by touch. In this article, three TCPs are introduced to code colours in the Munsell colour system. Each colour pattern consists of a basic cell size of 10 mm × 10 mm to represent the patterns consistently in terms of regular shape. Each TCP consists of basic geometric patterns that are combined to create primary, secondary, and tertiary colour pictograms of shapes indicating colour hue, intensity and lightness. Each TCP represents 29 colours including six hues; they were then further expanded to represent 53 colours. Two of them did not increase the cell size, the other increased the cell size 1.5 times for some colours, such as yellow‐orange, yellow, blue, and blue‐purple. Our proposed TCPs use a slightly larger cell size compared to most tactile patterns currently used to indicate colour, but code for more colours. With user experience and identification tests, conducted with 23 visually impaired adults, the effectiveness of the TCPs suggests that they were helpful for the participants.     

基于NR-Transformer的集群作业运行时间预测

高性能集群的作业调度通常使用作业调度系统来实现，准确填写作业运行时间能在很大程度上提升作业调度效率。现有的研究通常使用机器学习的预测方式，在预测精度和实用性上还存在一定的提升空间。为了进一步提高集群作业运行时间预测的准确率，考虑先对集群作业日志进行聚类，将作业类别信息添加到作业特征中，再使用基于注意力机制的NR-Transformer网络对作业日志数据建模和预测。在数据处理上，根据与预测目标的相关性、特征的完整性和数据的有效性，从历史日志数据集中筛选出7维特征，并按作业运行时间的长度将其划分为多个作业集，再对各作业集分别进行训练和预测。实验结果表明，相比于传统机器学习和BP神经网络，时序神经网络结构有更好的预测性能，其中NR-Transformer在各作业集上都有较好的性能。     

“感知与人机交互”教学实践与PBL模式探索

机器人工程是在国家新工科发展战略背景下为了适应机器人专业人才需求而新近创建的专业。本文依托东南大学机器人工程专业教学体系，介绍了“感知与人机交互”课程的教学实践，探索了PBL教学模式在本门课程中的应用。具体介绍了课程教学内容设置、PBL教学方案例设计及存在问题分析等，可为自动化类机器人工程专业的相关课程教学实践提供参考。     

基于心流理论的民艺体验产品设计要素研究

目的 探索民艺体验产品的设计方法，帮助用户实现沉浸式体验，提高用户对民艺产品的认同感，促进民艺的活态传承。方法 以竹编体验产品为例，通过用户观察、访谈并以用户体验地图的方式提取出“乌镇竹编”民艺产品在用户体验上的优点和痛点，结合心流理论，提出民艺体验产品的设计策略，同时优化“乌镇竹编”民艺体验产品。结论 经用户测试验证，最优的民艺体验产品除了要具备符合现代审美、工艺流程简化以及材料工具模块化等特征之外，还应具备以下设计要素:产品选择层次化、目标设置精细化、学习形式交互化、背景知识通俗化、作品分享社区化。     

基于Logistic回归的老年人APP用户体验优化设计

目的 提升老年人APP的用户体验水平。方法 提出一种基于Logistic回归的老年人APP用户体验优化设计研究方法。首先，通过文献研究和焦点小组法确定APP的设计模式，并选择合适的正交表确定设计模式的组合方式；其次，构建以行为体验、感知体验和情感体验为基础的用户体验评价体系，邀请被试者对试验样本执行具有代表性的任务，并对用户体验进行评价研究，收集试验数据；再次，运用序次Logistic回归建立APP设计模式与用户体验之间的关系模型，确定APP的最佳设计方案；最后，运用A/B测试方法对得到的试验结果进行验证。结论 以老年人移动医疗APP为例进行研究，结果表明所提出的方法可以有效地对老年人APP的用户体验进行优化设计，有助于设计师了解老年用户的偏好，设计出适合老年人使用的APP。     

Use of CFD-DEM to evaluate the effect of intermediate stress ratio on the undrained behaviour of granular materials

This study investigates the effect of intermediate stress ratio (b) on the mechanical behaviour of granular soil in true triaxial tests. A CFD-DEM solver with the ability to model compressible fluid and moving mesh has been developed and calibrated based on existing experimental test results on Nevada sand. The effect of b on the undrained true triaxial test, which has been neglected in the literature, was investigated using a reasonable number of models. The effects of the initial confining stress and initial void ratio also have been studied. The developed model was used to calculate the hydrodynamic forces on the particles and evaluate the ratio of the particle–fluid interaction force to the resultant force on the particles. It has been demonstrated that, in numerical studies, the effect of these forces cannot be neglected.     

Metal chlorides-promoted ammonia absorption of deep eutectic solvent

Ammonia is considered as a promising hydrogen or energy carrier. Ammonia absorption or adsorption is an important aspect for both ammonia removal, storage and separation applications. To these ends, a wide range of solid and liquid sorbents have been investigated. Among these, the deep eutectic solvent (DES) is emerging as a promising class of ammonia absorbers. Herein, we report a novel type of DES, i.e., metal-containing DESs for ammonia absorption. Specifically, the NH₃ absorption capacity is enhanced by ca. 18.1–36.9% when a small amount of metal chlorides, such as MgCl₂, MnCl₂ etc., are added into a DES composed of resorcinol (Res) and ethylene glycol (EG). To our knowledge, the MgCl₂/Res/EG (0.1:1:2) DES outperforms most of the reported DESs. The excellent NH₃ absorption performances of metal–containing DESs have been attributed to the synergy of Lewis acid–base and hydrogen bonding interactions. Additionally, good reversibility and high NH₃/CO₂ selectivity are achieved over the MgCl₂/Res/EG (0.1:1:2) DES, which enables it to be a potential NH₃ absorber for further investigations.
