A technique to overcome pattern dependence in semiconductor-optical-amplifier-based wavelength converters is presented. The technique is based on a careful selection of red- and blue-shifted spectral components having complementary pattern effects in the output spectrum of a wavelength-converted signal. This paper investigates a possible solution to the problem of power consumption in superscalar, out-of-order processors by proposing a new microarchitecture, specifically designed to reduce increasing power requirements of high-end processors. More precisely, we show that by modifying the well-established superscalar processor architecture, significant savings can be achieved in terms of power consumption. Our approach aims at limiting the growing amount of power used in a typical processor for dynamic optimizations (including out-of-order scheduling and register renaming). Our proposed approach achieves significant power savings by reusing as much as possible from the work done by the front-end of a typical superscalar, out-of-order pipeline, via the use of a special cache nested deeply into the processor structure. By reusing instructions that are already decoded, reordered, and have their registers already renamed, the front end of the pipeline can be turned off for large periods of time with significant savings in the overall power consumption. Experimental results show up to 35% (30% on average) savings in average energy per committed instruction, and 35% (20% on average) savings in energy-delay product, with about 9% average performance loss, over a large spectrum of SPEC95 and SPEC2000 benchmarks.  相似文献

Applicability of thin-layer headspace (TLHS) procedure giving an aqueous concentrate and also classical purge and trap (PT) in off-line mode to isolate and enrich volatile organohalogen compounds in common beverages was tested. Both enrichment tech-niques were used in combination with gas chromatography – electron capture detection (GC-ECD). TLHS, combined with direct aqueous injection (DAI)-GC-ECD, proved applicable in the determination of volatile organohalogen compounds in all studied beverages, while the PT in a version with no preliminary sample pre-treatment was of limited applicability. Detection limits of the TLHS-based procedure were in the order of 1 ppt. Content of volatile organohalogen compounds in a number of beverages available on the Polish market including mineral waters, beers, juices, carbonated and non-carbonated soft drinks, etc. was determined by means of TLHS-DAI-GC-ECD.  相似文献

The various complex mathematical transformations previously proposed for eliminating methodological errors of multicolor radiation pyrometry are mainly reduced to the determination of such combinations of wavelengths or corrections of registered brightness for the spectral distribution of the radiating capacity of the object being thermometered at which its equivalent radiating capacity is equal to unity. Mathematical formulas of the determining parameters of multicolor pyrometry of radiation have been obtained. Engineering techniques for calculating the critical values of the determining and adjustable parameters at which the application of multicolor optical thermometry is excluded because of large errors have been developed. Algorithms of a priori and a posteriori calibration systems of multicolor pyrometry of radiation of objects with practically any spectral distribution of the radiating capacity are proposed.  相似文献

Networks-on-chip (NoCs) represent a promising solution to complex on-chip communication problems. The NoC communication architectures considered so far are based on either completely regular or fully customized topologies. In this paper, we present a methodology to automatically synthesize an architecture which is neither regular nor fully customized. Instead, the communication architecture we propose is a superposition of a few long-range links and a standard mesh network. The few application-specific long-range links we insert significantly increase the critical traffic workload at which the network transitions from a free to a congested state. This way, we can exploit the benefits offered by both complete regularity and partial topology customization. Indeed, our experimental results demonstrate a significant reduction in the average packet latency and a major improvement in the achievable network through with minimal impact on network topology.  相似文献

This study is focused on structural modifications of leptomeninges and cerebral matter in children deceased because of iatrogenic AIDS. Although we do not evidence the specific lesions of AIDS, we have noticed edema, hyperemia, hematic extravasation, microlesions of the small vessel walls, perivascular infiltrations with lymphocytes, macrophages and even plasmocytes, moderate tigrolysis, mild demyelination, gliosis and sidero-calcic deposits. We do not consider these lesions as specific to HIV-infected patients.  相似文献
