Surgical pathologists are cautioned against the misinterpretation of immature dental tissues (dental papillae and follicles) and dental pulp as odontogenic tumors, especially odontogenic myxomas and fibromas. The close histologic similarity of the immature tissues to tumors may require a clinical-radiologic correlation with the histopathologic specimen in order to distinguish the locally aggressive tumors from innocuous dental tissues.  相似文献

Cyclin D1 proto-oncogene is a key regulator of the mammalian cell-cycle acting at the restriction point in late G1. Amplification of the cyclin D1 locus, located on chromosome 11q13, as well as cyclin D1 protein overexpression have been reported in several human malignancies. The purpose of this study was to evaluate cyclin D1 gene copy status and protein expression during the multistep process of head and neck tumorigenesis, using a combination of fluorescence in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry techniques. From 29 selected patients presenting with head and neck squamous carcinoma and whose tumor cytospins had been previously screened for presence (16 cases) or absence (13 cases) of amplification at the 11q13 band, we analysed 46 paraffin-embedded tissue specimens that demonstrated, besides the primary tumor, the presence of contiguous adjacent normal tissue and/or premalignant lesions. Of the 16 amplified cases, nine demonstrated a continuous progression from premalignant to invasive carcinoma and seven (77.7%) of these cases showed cyclin D1 gene amplification in premalignant lesions prior to development of invasive carcinoma. Increased cyclin D1 protein expression was observed in all 16 amplified tumors and five of the 13 (38.4%) non-amplified tumors. Interestingly, dysregulated cyclin D1 expression was also found in the premalignant lesions adjacent to all 16 amplified tumors, and it appeared to precede cyclin D1 gene amplification. In contrast no dysregulated expression was detected in the premalignant lesions of the non-amplified tumors. In conclusion, these findings provide strong evidence for early dysregulation of cyclin D1 expression during the tumorigenesis process and suggest that dysregulated increased expression precedes and possibly enables gene amplification.  相似文献

An innovative strategy for functional finishing of cellulosic based materials is based on the incorporation of a thin layer of surface modifying systems (SMS) in the form of stimuli-sensitive nanogels containing combining metal nanoparticles and silica. The silver–silica core–shell nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by simple one pot chemical method. Silica/silver nanoparticles have been synthesized using low concentration of dextran as reducing and stabilizing agent and using ascorbic acid as antioxidant agent. The core–shell NPs were characterized for their structural, morphological, compositional and optical behaviour using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray analysis. Stimuli-responsive nanogel was prepared by copolymerization of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) with pullulan, results in a nanogel that is responsive to both temperature and pH, the nano-particulate hydrogel of poly-NiPAAm-pullulan copolymer was synthesized using surfactant-free emulsion method. The prepared nano-particles were used during the preparation steps of the pullulan nanogel to obtain nanogel/combining metal/silica NPs to produce a composite materials. The nanoparticle size in dry (collapsed) state is estimated at 250 nm by SEM and TEM, and effect of temperature and pH on gel-nanoparticles was investigated by DLS and UV–vis spectrophotometry. The incorporation of the nanoparticles to cellulosic material was done by a simple pad dry-cure procedure from aqueous nanoparticle dispersion that contained a cross-linking agent. This application method provided sufficient integrity to coating by maintaining the responsiveness of surface modifying system. The stimuli responsiveness of modified cellulosic materials has been confirmed in terms of regulating its water uptake in dependence of pH and temperature.  相似文献

Two hundred open heart cases anaesthetized with a combination of diazepam-ketamine using "Micro-Mini" drip administration technique were presented. The results were eminently desirable, and in the opinion of the authors are a notable improvement over other methods for all types of cardiovascular surgery including most advanced heart diseases. The advantages of this anaesthetic method for cardiovascular surgery are as follows: 1. Effects on cardiovascular system are minimal.--2. Respiratory depression is negligible.--3. There is no increase in salivation or muscle tone.--4. Induction and maintenance of anaesthesia are simple and smooth.--5. Anaesthesia can be maintained, using a high concentration of oxygen alone, by a slight increase in rate of ketamine administration whenever necessary.--6. Post-anaesthetic psychotomimetic effects are negligible.--7. Nearly 100% of patients have excellent amnesia.--8. It has a wide margin of safety.--9. This technique has proved highly acceptable to patients and surgeons. We feel ketamine should be used in small dosages continuously administered with either "Micro-Mini" drip infusion or infusion pump. Ketamine given in this fashion should be regarded as an analgesic.  相似文献

A "Micro-Mini" drip technique insured low, even, but adequate dose levels of ketamine and less drug was used. Induction and maintenance are simple and smooth. In this work, we demonstrate a possibility to use La–Ga–S–O–Gd glass polymer nanocomposites as effective materials for photo-induced birefringence. Here we chose PVA as a photopolymer matrix. The photo-induced effects were studied using 8 ns Nd: YAG laser generating bicolor coherent light beams with wavelengths 1064, and 532 nm. The detection of the photo-induced birefringence was carried out using cw He–Ne laser at 1150 nm. The optimal concentration of the nanoglass favoring maximal changes of refractive indices is established. The photo-induced laser power density was changed up to 0.9 GW/cm2. The photo-induced beams were incident at angles varying within the 32° and 52° with respect to the nanocomposite planes. The polarizations of the beams did not play principal role. We discovered an appearance of maximal birefringence equal to about 0.078. The effect is strongly dependent on the nanoparticle sizes and is completely reversible after switching off the laser treatment within several milliseconds. Such features are useful for the recording of optical information and production of gratings with desirable periods.  相似文献

We present a complex fluorescence study of a series of gadolinium oxide polycrystalline powders singly, doubly and triply doped with trivalent rare earth ions (Er3+, Tb3+, and Dy3+), to explore a possibility of their use as materials for white light emitting diodes. The excitation and luminescence spectra along with the decay kinetics were measured in the temperature range from 6 to 300 K. The luminescence efficiency was studied within the visible spectral range, i.e. −400 nm to 750 nm under excitation by 355 nm third harmonic Nd:YAG laser pulses. Singly doped Er3+ sample gave stronger luminescence signals, but others showed significantly larger decay lifetimes. The successive rare earths doping leads to substantial changes of the spectral positions due to the up-conversion processes. In the singly (Er3+) doped sample, following the time resolved spectrum and decay curves, there are two different types of emissions: at 660 nm and at shorter wavelengths (below 640 nm) the red emission's lifetime is ten times longer than at shorter wavelengths. The singly doped sample shows unclear temperature-dependence of luminescence with lifetime at 550 nm (the longest at 100 K, similarly at 6 K and 300 K) and achieved luminous efficacy 73.5 lm/W.  相似文献

Principal optical properties of Tl1?xIn1?xSixSe2 solid state crystalline alloys were studied. The influence of the x on the principal optical and structural features was explored. Temperature features of the band energy gap are studied. The possible explanation of the observed behavior is given within a framework of the Urbach rule approach. The role of intrinsic defective sub-system and anharmonic electron–phonon interaction is discussed. A possible application of the titled materials for the infrared optoelectronic is discussed. The replacement of In atoms by Sn is evaluated. Additionally studies of influence of x on the optoelectronic features is done. The formation of the positive charged ions (donors) and negatively charged ions is explored within the introduced intrinsic defect models.  相似文献
