An electronic circuit is presented that encodes an array of analog input signals into a digital number. The digital output is a rank order code that reflects the relative strength of the inputs, but is independent of the absolute input intensities. In that sense, the circuit performs an adaptive analog to digital conversion, adapting to the average intensity of the inputs (i.e. effectively normalizing) and adapting the quantization levels to the spread of the inputs. Thus, it can convey essential information with a minimal amount of output bits over a huge range of input signals.As a first processing step the analog inputs are projected into the time domain, i.e. into voltage spikes. The latency of those spikes encodes the strength of the input. This conversion enables the circuit to conduct further analog processing steps by asynchronous logic.  相似文献

In this paper we present a systematic approach for taking into account the resulting CO2 emissions reductions from investments in process integration measures in industry when optimizing those investments under economic uncertainty. The fact that many of the uncertainties affecting investment decisions are related to future CO2 emissions targets and policies implies that a method for optimizing not only economic criteria, but also greenhouse gas reductions, will provide better information to base the decisions on, and possibly also result in a more robust solution. In the proposed approach we apply a model for optimization of decisions on energy efficiency investments under uncertainty and regard the decision problem as a multiobjective programming problem. The method is applied to a case of energy efficiency investments at a chemical pulp mill. The case study is used to illustrate that the proposed method provides a good framework for decision-making about energy efficiency measures when considerations regarding greenhouse gas reductions influence the decisions. We show that by setting up the problem as a multiobjective programming model and at the same time incorporating uncertainties, the trade-off between economic and environmental criteria is clearly illustrated.  相似文献

Duplex grades have, due to balanced chemical compositions of both filler and base metals, a weldability that allows for successful welding using a majority of the technically relevant techniques of today. In order to fulfil the performance requirements several aspects must be considered. In the heat affected zone (HAZ) the austenite reformation must be reasonably high and in the weld metal the microstructure must be stable so that e.g. high productivity welding and multi‐pass welding are possible, without precipitation of detrimental phases in previous passes. This paper addresses the effect of alloying elements and thermal cycles on phase balance in the high temperature HAZ (HTHAZ) of the newly developed lean duplex grade LDX 2101 (EN 1.4162, UNS S32101). Bead‐on‐plate welds and simulated weld structures have been produced and investigated using metallography, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results are analysed using the thermodynamic database Thermo‐Calc and a model for phase transformation based on a paraequilibrium assumption for ferrite‐austenite transformation. In the temperature region outside the paraequilibrium domain, growth controlled by diffusion of substitutional elements was considered. The analysis follows a model by Cahn regarding grain boundary nucleated growth and the Hillert‐Engberg model on kinetics of spherical and planar growth.  相似文献

Municipal solid waste landfill leachates from 9 Norwegian sites were size charge fractionated in the field, to obtain three fractions: particulate and colloidal matter >0.45microm, free anions/non-labile complexes <0.45microm and free cations/labile complexes <0.45microm. The fractionation showed that Cd and Zn, and especially Cu and Pb, were present to a large degree (63-98%) as particulate and colloidal matter >0.45microm. Cr, Co and Ni were on the contrary present mostly as non-labile complexes (69-79%) <0.45microm. The major cations Ca, Mg, K, and Mn were present mainly as free cations/labile complexes <0.45microm, while As and Mo were present to a large degree (70-90%) as free anions/non-labile complexes <0.45microm. Aluminium was present mainly as particulate and colloidal matter >0.45microm. The particulate and colloidal matter >0.45microm was mainly inorganic; indicating that the metals present in this fraction were bound as inorganic compounds. The fractionation gives important information on the mobility and potential bioavailability of the metals investigated, in contrast to the total metal concentrations usually reported. To study possible changes in respective metal species in leachate in aerated sedimentation tanks, freshly sampled leachate was stored for 48h, and subsequently fractionated. This showed that the free heavy metals are partly immobilized during storage of leachate with oxygen available. The largest effects were found for Cd and Zn. The proportion of As and Cr present as particulate matter or colloids >0.45microm also increased.  相似文献

Background  

Rye products have been demonstrated to lower the acute insulin demand, induce a low and prolonged blood glucose response (high Glycemic Profile, GP) and reduce subclinical inflammation. These products may therefore contribute to a lowered risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardio vascular disease. The objective of the present paper was to evaluate the mechanism for a reduced postprandial insulin demand with rye products, and to explore possible appetite regulating properties.  相似文献

Municipal solid waste landfill leachate was sampled over from a landfill receiving varying amounts of municipal solid waste. The investigation aimed to provide information on expected leachate changes in the short term, either after closure of an active landfill, or after a strong decline in the amount of waste deposited at smaller landfills. It was found that during a two year period following a sudden decline in the amount of waste deposited, the levels of various chemical and physical parameters all dropped sharply. The reasons for the decline in discharge levels are thought to be aerobic decomposition taking place in the municipal solid waste just after landfilling, and thus the decline in the impact of this process when there were less fresh waste masses available, and formation of preferential flow paths for the leachate as the municipal solid waste stabilized in the landfill.  相似文献
