The use of drugs for common pregnancy complications like premature labor, hypertensive diseases, and premature rupture of membranes with chorioamnionitis is reviewed. In addition, new publications on antiviral drugs in HIV-positive pregnant patients are also discussed. Among the drugs, suppressing premature labor side-effects of beta-mimetics are of growing concern. The effectiveness of other agents like magnesium, indomethacin, and sulindac are addressed. The various mechanisms explaining the beneficial effect of magnesium in pre-eclampsia are reviewed and new data on antihypertensives, such as labetalol, calcium channel blockers, and methyldopa are presented. The evidence from various clinical trials on the value of low-dose aspirin as a prophylactic agent against pregnancy-induced hypertension, pre-eclampsia, and intrauterine growth retardation in high-risk and low-risk patients is compared. Pharmacokinetic data including transplacental transfer of antibiotics and anti-HIV nucleosides are part of this review.  相似文献

The disposition behavior of trientine, a selective copper-chelating drug for Wilson's disease, and its metabolites in normal patients with Wilson's disease and rats were studied. A high concentration of metabolites appeared in blood samples of patients and rats in the early stage after administration of trientine. Furthermore, large amount of trientine metabolites were excreted into the urine of patients. These results suggest that trientine is remarkably subjected to a first-pass effect. The drug concentration area under the curve (AUC) of the unchanged form and the metabolites of trientine in patients was not dependent on the administered dosage. It seems that the absorption process is an important factor for the disposition behavior of trientine, we have also investigated the uptake characteristics of trientine by rat intestinal brush-border membrane vesicles. The uptake characteristics of trientine were similar to the physiological polyamines, spermine and spermidine. The uptake rate of trientine was dose-dependently inhibited by spermine and spermidine. Moreover, spermine competitively inhibited the uptake of trientine with a Ki value of 18.6 muM. This value is very close to the Km value for spermine (30.4 muM). These data suggested that the uptake mechanism of trientine in rat small intestinal brush-border membrane vesicles was almost identical to that of spermine and spermidine, and that the physiological polyamines seem to have the ability to inhibit the absorption of trientine from the gastrointestinal tract.  相似文献

This paper examines how reflectance spectrometry used in the laboratory to estimate clay and calcium carbonate (CaCO3) soil contents can be applied to field and airborne measurements for soil property mapping. A continuum removal (CR) technique quantifying specific absorption features of clay (2206 nm) and CaCO3 (2341 nm) was applied to laboratory, field and airborne HYMAP reflectance measurements collected in 2003 (33 sites) and 2005 (19 sites) over bare soil sites of a few meters within the La Peyne Valley area, southern France. Nine intermediate stages from the laboratory up to HYMAP sensor measurements were considered for separately evaluating the possible degradation of estimation performances when going across scales and sensors, e.g. radiometric calibration, spectral resolution, spatial variability, illumination conditions, and surface status including roughness, soil moisture and presence and nature of pebbles.Significant relationships were observed between clay and CaCO3 contents and CR values computed respectively at 2206 nm and 2341 nm from reflectance measurements at the laboratory level with an ASD spectrophotometer up to the HYMAP spectro-imaging sensor. Performances of clay and CaCO3 estimations decreased from the laboratory to airborne scales. The main factors inducing uncertainties in the estimates were radiometric and wavelength calibration uncertainties of the HYMAP sensor as well as possible residual atmospheric effects.  相似文献

Statistical evaluation of biclustering solutions is essential to guarantee the absence of spurious relations and to validate the high number of scientific statements inferred from unsupervised data analysis without a proper statistical ground. Most biclustering methods rely on merit functions to discover biclusters with specific homogeneity criteria. However, strong homogeneity does not guarantee the statistical significance of biclustering solutions. Furthermore, although some biclustering methods test the statistical significance of specific types of biclusters, there are no methods to assess the significance of flexible biclustering models. This work proposes a method to evaluate the statistical significance of biclustering solutions. It integrates state-of-the-art statistical views on the significance of local patterns and extends them with new principles to assess the significance of biclusters with additive, multiplicative, symmetric, order-preserving and plaid coherencies. The proposed statistical tests provide the unprecedented possibility to minimize the number of false positive biclusters without incurring on false negatives, and to compare state-of-the-art biclustering algorithms according to the statistical significance of their outputs. Results on synthetic and real data support the soundness and relevance of the proposed contributions, and stress the need to combine significance and homogeneity criteria to guide the search for biclusters.  相似文献

Modified Nafion membranes by self-assembling of palladium composite nanoparticles were successfully synthesized and used for the reduction of methanol crossover in Direct Methanol Fuel Cells (DMFC). The positively charged polydiallyldimethylammonium (PDDA) was used for stabilizing the palladium nanoparticles. Modified and unmodified membranes were tested in a DMFC at 30 °C and 50 °C. The performance of the DMFC using modified membranes with different composite nanoparticles (i.e., Pd/PDAA ratios) and self-assembling times was compared with that using an unmodified membrane. The modified Nafion membranes proved to reduce the methanol crossover in ca. 10% – 35%, depending on the self-assembling time, nanoparticles composition and test temperature. However, a decrease in the performance was observed mainly for the modified membrane with the higher PDDA content due to a decrease in the proton conductivity. On the other hand, the membrane modified with nanoparticles containing less PDDA and tested at 50 °C showed similar performance as the unmodified one. Additionally, the fuel cell efficiencies obtained for all the modified membranes at both temperatures were similar or higher than the unmodified one.  相似文献

Data on mineralogy and diffuse reflectance spectra, obtained from 56 samples of Brazilian lateritic soils, were used to establish quantitative relationships between spectral parameters and iron oxides contents (hematite and goethite). A redness index RI H calculated from Helmholtz chromatic co-ordinates ( lambda d, P e, Y) and correlated to hematite content is found. A good estimate of the ratio Hematite/ (Hematite + Goethite) is given by the dominant wavelength lambda which takes into account a large proportion of the tint detected on the soil sample. Based on these laboratory results, radiometric indices were elaborated by combining only those parts of the visible spectrum that correspond to Thematic Mapper (TM) channels: (i) a hematite index I Hm to estimate hematite concentration; and (ii) a ferric index I Fe to estimate the ratio hematite/(hematite goethite). The hematite index, applied to a TM image of the area around Brasilia, allowed hematite contents in the surface horizons of lateritic soils to be mapped accurately.  相似文献

Making information and telecommunications available is a permanent challenge for cities concerned to their social, urban and local planning and development, focused on life quality of their citizens and on the effectiveness of public management. Such a challenge requires the involvement of everyone in the city. The objective is to describe the information and telecommunications project from the planning of a digital city carried out in Vinhedo-SP, Brazil. It was built as a telecommunications infrastructure of the kind of “open access metropolitan area networks” which enables the integration of citizens in a single telecommunications environment. The research methodology was emphasized by a case study which turned to be a research-action, comprising the municipal administration and its local units. The results achieved describe, by means of a methodology, the phases, sub-phases, activities, approval points and resulting products, and formalize their respective challenges and difficulties. The contributions have to do with the practical feasibility of the project and execution of its methodology. The conclusion reiterates the importance of the project, collectively implemented and accepted, as a tool to help the management of cities, in the implementation of Strategic Digital City Projects, in the decisions of public administration managers, and in the quality of life of their citizens.  相似文献

Feature modeling systems usually employ a boundary representation (b-rep) to store the shape information on a product. It has, however, been shown that a b-rep has a number of shortcomings, and that a cellular representation can be a valuable alternative. A cellular model stores additional shape information on features, including the feature faces that are not on the boundary of the product. Such information can be profitably used for several purposes.A major operation in every feature modeling system is boundary evaluation, which computes the geometric model of a product, i.e. either the b-rep or the cellular model, from the features that have been specified by the user. Since boundary evaluation has to be executed each time a feature is added, removed or modified, its efficiency is of paramount importance.In this paper, boundary evaluation for a cellular model is described in some detail. Its efficiency is compared to the efficiency of boundary evaluation for a b-rep, on the basis of both complexity analysis and performance measurements for the two types of evaluation. It turns out that boundary evaluation for a cellular model is, in fact, more efficient than for a b-rep, which makes cellular models even more attractive as an alternative to b-reps.  相似文献

Contrarily to conventional sintering (CS) method where longer cycles and high temperature (1400–1500?°C) are applied to sinter yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystalline (Y-TZP) ceramics, this work presents a faster and low temperature (1175?°C) way through hot pressing (HP) to produce full densified zirconia with good mechanical and tribological properties. This work is concerned with the influence of sintering pressure on the microstructure and tribological properties of hot-pressed Y-TZP. For this purpose, four sintering pressures 5, 20, 60 and 100?MPa were tested. The wear tests were carried out by reciprocating ball-on-plate as a simplified test for tooth-to-restorative material contact under 37?°C using artificial saliva to mimic oral conditions. The results demonstrated that density, hardness and tribological properties are strongly influenced by the sintering pressure, namely an improvement with pressure increase was achieved. The highest density, hardness values and wear resistance were achieved for Y-TZP samples produced at P?=?100?MPa. Furthermore, it was revealed that a smaller grain size for Z100 samples (full densification condition) was achieved comparatively to conventional-sintered Y-TZP. This work proves that it is possible to produce dense Y-TZP materials under low sintering temperature and faster cycles with reduced grain size without compromise mechanical and tribological properties.  相似文献
