The success of irrigation system operation and planning depends on accurate quantification of supply and demand, and an equitable distribution of available water. The ultimate aim of this study was to determine how to meet the irrigation water demands if possible or to minimize the gap between the water supply and the demand. Most of the irrigation literature focuses only on the demand and the distribution aspects of this issue Irrigation projects that receive water from reservoirs, however, can be challenging to manage because the annual fluctuations in available water release from a reservoir can have a considerable impact on the irrigation management strategy. In real‐world situations, the reservoir operating rules guide reservoir operators in making actual water release decisions. This study develops a water balance simulation model for reservoir management, as well as testing it for Kangsabati Reservoir, West Bengal, India. Two rule curves for deciding irrigation water available from the reservoir were generated by taking the average and minimum stage values on a daily basis for a 16‐year period (1988–2003). Maintaining a minimum stage of 120.4 m throughout the year served as another rule to decide the release water available for irrigation. The minimum allowable stage of reservoir corresponding to a particular date of the year can be determined from those reservoir specific rule curves generated for irrigation purposes. The maximum permissible water release/outflow for irrigation from the test reservoir was taken as the volume of water available above the minimum allowable stage corresponding to the selected rule curve. The saturated hydraulic conductivity value (KS) was calibrated to be 4.31 mm day?1 for Kangsabati Reservoir.  相似文献

This article, from the Motorola (now Freescale) PowerPC design group, presents an interesting synergy among test, equivalence verification, and constraints. The authors use RTL, gate, and switch models of a design in two different flows one for test and one for functional verification to show that rectifying constraints and merging tests between the-two flows saves significant presilicon debug effort.  相似文献

Spices constitute an important group of food which is virtually indispensable in the culinary art. In a view, these spices feared to pose a probability to affect the disposition of conventional pharmaceuticals through inhibition of human cytochrome P450 (CYPs) enzymes. In the present study an approach has been made to evaluate the possible CYP inhibition potential with some Indian spices (Capsicum annuum, Murraya koenigii, Zingiber officinale) and their major bioactive compounds, in combination with pooled microsome; as well as commercially available recombinant human CYP3A4, CYP2D6, CYP2C9 and CYP1A2. Quantification of the bioactive compound was determined through RP-HPLC, in order to standardize the plant material. CYP–carbon monoxide (CYP–CO) complex assay result indicated that all the plants and their bioactive compounds have an interaction potential with CYPs. Fluoregenic assay results indicated that the spice extracts have higher inhibition potential comparing to their single bioactive molecule. The higher enzyme inhibition potential by the extracts may be related to the synergistic effects due to the presence of other constituents in the extract. Capsaicin and C. annuum showed the lowest IC50 value and 6-gingerol and Z. officinale extract showed the highest IC50 value among the entire sample tested. The entire sample showed significantly less (P < 0.001, P < 0.01) interaction potential than known inhibitors. These findings indicate that selected spices are unlikely to cause clinically relevant drug interactions involving the inhibition of major CYP isozymes.  相似文献

A new kind of anhydrous, transparent, and flexible potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH2PO4 or KDP)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) composite in the form of film (0.10 mm) has been prepared by solution casting technique. KDP is well dispersed in the polymer matrix as observed from the microstructural studies. Frequency and temperature dependent dielectric properties of the composites have been studied with varying KDP concentrations. The PVA/KDP composite films exhibited extraordinarily high relative permittivity ε′ ∼ 430 (80 times higher compared with pure PVA and even higher than KDP) near the percolation threshold (ϕC = 2.5 wt % KDP) with low dielectric losses (∼ 0.15) at 1 kHz and room temperature. Such flexible, low loss and high dielectric permittivity material has enormous importance for application in devices. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2012  相似文献

We report the preparation of polyaniline (PANI) nanoparticles dispersed in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix. From SEM picture it is seen that the particle sizes vary from 100–20 nm. Also with increase in PVA content the stability of dispersion is found to increase. Apart from SEM, spin cast films of PANI in PVA are also characterized through XRD and FTIR. XRD shows increase in crystallinity with PVA content and FTIR gives evidence of crosslinking between PANI and PVA molecules. In plane electrical conductivity (in the range of 102 Scm−1) and the exponent of nonlinear I–V are found to decrease with increase of PVA content. There is a good correlation between SEM, XRD, FTIR and electrical properties.  相似文献

Polymer nanocomposites based on poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/starch blend and graphene were prepared by solution mixing and casting. Glycerol was used as a plasticizer and added in the starch dispersion. The uniform dispersion of graphene in water was achieved by using an Ultrasonicator Probe. The composites were characterized by FTIR, tensile properties, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), thermal analysis, and FE‐SEM studies. FTIR studies indicated probable hydrogen bonding interaction between the oxygen containing groups on graphene surface and the –OH groups in PVA and starch. Mechanical properties results showed that the optimum loading of graphene was 0.5 wt % in the blend. XRD studies indicated uniform dispersion of graphene in PVA/starch matrix upto 0.5 wt % loadings and further increase caused agglomeration. Thermal studies showed that the thermal stability of PVA increased and the crystallinity decreased in the presence of starch and graphene.
