Support vector machines (SVMs) with the gaussian (RBF) kernel have been popular for practical use. Model selection in this class of SVMs involves two hyperparameters: the penalty parameter C and the kernel width sigma. This letter analyzes the behavior of the SVM classifier when these hyperparameters take very small or very large values. Our results help in understanding the hyperparameter space that leads to an efficient heuristic method of searching for hyperparameter values with small generalization errors. The analysis also indicates that if complete model selection using the gaussian kernel has been conducted, there is no need to consider linear SVM. 相似文献

The artificial materials for bone implant applications are gaining more importance in the recent years. The series titania‐chitosan‐chondroitin 4–sulphate nanocomposites of three different concentrations (2:1:x, where x ‐ 0.125, 0.25, 0.5) have been synthesised by in situ sol–gel method and characterised by various techniques. The particle size of the nanocomposites ranges from 30–50 nm. The bioactivity, swelling nature, and the antimicrobial nature of the nanocomposites were investigated. The swelling ability and bioactivity of the composites is significantly greater and they possess high zone of inhibition against the microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The cell viability of the nanocomposites were evaluated by using MG‐63 and observed the composites possess high cell viability at low concentration. In this paper, parameter optimization of FSW of cryorolled AA2219 alloy was carried out to obtain defect free weld joint with maximum weld strength. To achieve this, artificial neural network (ANN) was used to model the relationship between the input parameters and the mechanical and corrosion properties (output) of the weld joints. The optimal FSW parameters were determined by genetic algorithm (GA). The feasible solution of the GA was tool rotational speed of 1005 rpm, tool travel speed of 20 mm/min and tool tilt angle of 3°. The feasible parameter was used to weld and check the ability of the parameter to produce better weld joint than the L9 orthogonal array parameters. The weld, subjected to the confirmation test, was investigated by means of metallurgical, mechanical, and corrosion testing. This process reduces the costs associated with trial runs to obtain optimal parameters and also the production cost of the cryorolled (CR) plate which is high. 相似文献

Detonation gun sprayed Cr3C2–NiCr coating was deposited on nickel-based superalloy Inconel-718. Hot corrosion studies were conducted on uncoated as well as Cr3C2–NiCr coated superalloy in 75 wt% Na2SO4 + 25 wt% NaCl salt environment at 900 °C for 50 cycles. The thermo-gravimetric technique was used to establish kinetics of corrosion. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive X-ray analysis techniques were used to analyze the corrosion products. The uncoated superalloy suffered intense spalling, while the Cr3C2–NiCr coating provided good protection against hot corrosion in the given salt environment. 相似文献

The present investigation deals with the electrodeposition of tin from chloride electrolytes. Gelatin, β-naphthol, polyethylene glycol, peptone and histidine were used as additives in the plating bath to improve the surface morphology, grain size, smoothness and corrosion resistance of the tin deposits. XRD data obtained for electrodeposited tin show polycrystalline nature with single β-phase and tetragonal structure. A uniform and pore free surface was observed under SEM analysis. AFM results indicate the grain refining brought about by the additives. Corrosion rate measurements using the Tafel extrapolation method and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy reveal the increased corrosion resistance from baths containing additives. 相似文献
