Forty paediatric cases of A.R.F. (Acute Renal Failure) of various aetiology were included in the study. 60% of patients were less than 4 years of age with male predominance. 80% cases reported to us very late with oligoanuria of more than 24 hours (2-7 days). Diarrhoea, vomiting and fever were other dominant symptoms. Maximum cases were severely anaemic (87.5%) with mean Hb 7.73 +/- 1.9 gm%. 40% cases were of underweight while only one case (2.5%) was of over weight, inspite of volume excess in 40% cases. All 24 cases, who were estimated for serum albumin, found to have marked hypoalbuminemia. Mortality was found to be as high as 65% inspite of effective peritoneal dialysis in all cases. High mortality seems to be due to profound anuria of many days (because of marked delay in reaching the hospital), fever and malnutrition besides other factors as aetiology. 相似文献

Recent advances in the fabrication of high-T
c
superconducting thick films demand processing techniques which can eliminate film/substrate interdifiusion that occurs during subsequent post-annealing heat treatment after the film is deposited, thereby limiting the application of the thick films for devices. The present study evaluates laser annealing techniques for plasma-deposited Y-Ba-Cu-O thick films using a high-energy CO2 laser (10.6m) in a continuous wave mode. The results are compared with those obtained by conventional furnace annealing techniques necessary for post-heat treatment of as-deposited superconducting thick films. The high-T

superconducting phase is recovered by cationic diffusion during subsequent post-annealing heat treatment. Crystallographic phases and microstructural characterization have been performed using XRD, SEM, and EPMA analytical techniques. The significance of the technology lies in the elimination of film/substrate interdiffusion problems, thereby resulting in high-quality superconducting thick films. Nb2O5:MoO3 (95:5 and 85:15) thin films were deposited onto glass and fluorine doped tin oxide coated glass substrates at 100 and 300 °C by RF magnetron sputtering technique. The physical and electrochromic properties of the films were studied. XRD result reveals that deposited films were amorphous. The XPS study confirms the compositional purity and the presence of Nb5+ and Mo6+ in the deposited film. Surface morphological study shows platelet like features of deposited film. The average transmittance of the film is varied between 91 and 85 %. Photoluminescence study exhibits three characteristic emission peaks and confirms the better optical quality of deposited film. Raman spectra show the LO–TO splitting of Nb–O stretching of the deposited film. Electrochromic behavior of the deposited films characterized by cyclic voltammetry using 0.5 M LiClO4·PC and 0.5 M H2SO4 electrolyte solutions show all the films are having better reversibility and reproducibility in their electrochemical analysis. 相似文献

Summary The thermal effects on the dynamics of an axisymmetric flow of a non-volatile incompressible viscous thin liquid film on a
rotating disk due to viscosity variation depending exponentially on temperature are considered. The nonlinear evolution equation
is solved numerically. The numerical results reveal that heating the film from below enhances the rate of thinning. The increase
in Biot number increases the film thickness, when the film is heated from below. Further, the relative amount of fluid retained
on the substrate decreases as the film is heated from below. The results are reversed for the case of a film which is cooled
from below. The rate of thinning of the film is more (less) for the case of temperature dependent viscosity when the film

The bacterium Bacillus altitudinis AP-MSU, able to produce esterase was isolated from the gut of marine fish Sardinella longiceps. The esterase production was investigated in solid-state fermentation experiment using various fish processing waste meal. Among the tested fish processing wastes, red grouper waste emerged as the best source for higher esterase production. The suitable surfactant and triglyceride identified to increase the lipase production was neem oil. Effect of individual carbon and nitrogen sources supplementation on esterase production revealed that fructose and peptone aided the higher esterase production than the other tested carbon and nitrogen sources. The suitable concentration of sodium chloride for higher esterase production was at 5%. Effect of surfactants and trace elements on esterase production showed that Tween 20 and zinc sulphate, respectively produced maximum amount of esterase. The effect of physical parameters on lipase production revealed that 50 °C temperature and pH 7–8 were optimum for higher esterase production. Statistical optimization with Plackett–Burman design showed that neem oil, NaCl and fructose were found to be the most predictive factors for esterase production by this strain. 相似文献

15–25 wt% zirconia (stabilized with 14 mol% ceria) toughened alumina was synthesized by co-precipitation technique. The synthesized powders were calcined at different temperatures, compacted and conventionally sintered following two steps sintering process. Uniformly distributed submicron sized grains with Vickers' hardness value up to 1730±6HV20 were achieved after conventional sintering. In order to assess the ageing behaviour, samples were hydrothermally treated (in vitro) at 134 °C under 0.2 MPa in presence of simulated body fluid. Rietveld refinement of the X-ray diffraction patterns was carried out to estimate the phase content after calcination, sintering and after different stages of hydrothermal treatment. No significant phase change (only ∼3%) was observed even after 100 h of hydrothermal treatment. Very few bulged grains (resulted from the tetragonal to monoclinic phase transformation) on the surface and slight decrease in hardness value were observed after hydrothermal treatment. Fretting wear in dry condition was carried out taking ball on flat geometry for 105 cycles at different loads before and after hydrothermal treatment. Wear volumes were directly estimated from the surface scanning of the wear scar using profilometer. Transition of wear and its related mechanisms at different loads along with the effect of ageing on wear were discussed. 相似文献

This paper primarily discusses the profile of minor components in hemp seed oil and their beneficial and adverse effects on oil quality.
