The diamond-like carbon (DLC) multilayer films have been deposited by plasma CVD deposition onSi wafer substrate. The deposited films have then been post-annealed in vacuum at 250 °C for 2 h. Changes in internal stress, hardness, critical load, friction coefficient and wear have been investigated toassess the influence of annealing on mechanical and tribological properties of DLC multilayer films. At the same time, DLC single layerfilms are also deposited and annealed in the same method for a comparison.The results show that there is 28–33% decrease in internal stress and 10–13% decrease in hardness of theDLC single layer films after the anneal treatment. However, for the DLC multilayer films, there is 41–43% decreasein internal stress and less than 2% decrease in hardness. In addition, the annealed DLC multilayer filmhas the same friction and wear properties as that un-annealed film. This result indicates that the anneal treatment isan effective method for the DLC multilayer films to reduce the internal stress and to increase the critical load.The by-effect of the annealing, decrease of hardness and wear resistance of the multilayer film, can be restrictedby the multilayer structure.  相似文献

Long-term survival of cultured rat cerebellar granule neurons requires depolarizing concentrations of potassium (high potassium; 25 mM KCl). A high-potassium culturing condition has been reported to increase the intracellular calcium concentration ([Ca2+]i) and the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which in turn induces the expression of neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) in these neurons. We therefore examined the neurotrophic effect of these two neurotrophins in low-potassium (5 mM) cultures and their neuroprotective capabilities against sodium nitroprusside-induced neurotoxicity in both low- and high-potassium cultures. Neuronal survival and neurotrophic effects were monitored by [3H]ouabain binding and 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assays. In low-potassium cultures, the neurotrophic effect of BDNF approached that found in high-potassium cultures but was much more robust than that of NT-3. In contrast, undifferentiated neurons cultured in high-potassium medium were much less responsive to BDNF and not responsive at all to NT-3. Induction of nitroprusside neurotoxicity occurred more readily in low- than in high-potassium cultures. BDNF, NT-3, and a high potassium concentration, alone or in combination, were unable to protect neurons treated with nitroprusside at 50 or 100 microM. However, the neurotoxicity of a lower dose of nitroprusside (10 microM) was reversed by the combined actions of these two neurotrophins in low-potassium cultures and by BDNF alone in high-potassium cultures. Because nitroprusside neurotoxicity is less robust in high-potassium cultures, high-potassium-induced BDNF expression and subsequent NT-3 expression may participate in its neuroprotection and neurotrophism in these cultures. Also, we found that toxic doses of nitroprusside antagonized KCl- and NMDA-induced rises in [Ca2+]i, suggesting that this effect is related to nitroprusside-induced neurotoxicity.  相似文献

Diamond-like carbon (DLC) film was deposited on Si wafer by a plasma CVD deposition system using benzene. Tribological properties of the DLC film were evaluated using a ball-on-disk tribo-meter in low (RH 1720 %) and high humidity (RH 9095 %) conditions in air. The effect of sliding speed (4.2 mm/s to 25 mm/s) and load (1.06 N to 3.08 N) on friction and wear was investigated. The friction behavior of the DLC film was obviously different in low and high humidity. When tested under low humidity conditions, the friction coefficient decreased significantly with increasing speed, and increased with load. However, under high humidity conditions, the friction coefficient increased with the speed and decreased with increasing load. The wear of the DLC film was little influenced by the sliding speed, normal load and humidity; a level of 10-8 mm3/Nm could be obtained in all tests. The formation of a uniform transfer layer would be the main factor which controlled the friction coefficient of the DLC films. Unlike the friction, the wear resistance of the DLC film is not so easy to discuss and may be affected mainly by the tribo-chemical reaction in all the test conditions.  相似文献
