Integrating products and services to customized solutions can help firms to differentiate from their competitors. In practice, however, various companies fall short in extracting value from their customers. Therefore this paper focuses on pricing aspects as central means for value appropriation in the context of solutions. Following the resource-based view of the firm, we adopt a process-oriented perspective on pricing practices in order to identify crucial factors and activities. Based on 15 in-depth interviews with practitioners from various industries we derive six steps of a price management process for value appropriation in the context of solution selling and present critical activities and routines within each step.  相似文献

Stable normal-mode vibrations in engineering can be undesirable and one of the possibilities for quenching these is by embedding the oscillator in an autoparametric system by coupling to a damped oscillator. There exists the possibility of destabilizing the undesirable vibrations by a suitable tuning and choice of nonlinear coupling parameters. An additional feature is that, to make the quenching effective in the case of relaxation oscillations, one also has to deform the slow manifold by choosing appropriate coupling; this is illustrated for Rayleigh and van der Pol relaxation.  相似文献

Progress in scanning probe microscopy profited from a flourishing multitude of new instrument designs, which lead to novel imaging modes and as a consequence to innovative microscopes. Often these designs were hampered by the restrictions, which conventional milling techniques impose. Modern rapid prototyping techniques, where layer by layer is added to the growing piece either by light driven polymerization or by three-dimensional printing techniques, overcome this constraint, allowing highly concave or even embedded and entangled structures. We have employed such a technique to manufacture an atomic force microscopy (AFM) head, and we compared its performance with a copy milled from aluminum. We tested both AFM heads for single molecule force spectroscopy applications and found little to no difference in the signal-to-noise ratio as well as in the thermal drift. The lower E modulus seems to be compensated by higher damping making this material well suited for low noise and low drift applications. Printing an AFM thus offers unparalleled freedom in the design and the rapid production of application-tailored custom instruments.  相似文献

We present a manufacturing method based on the dynamic use of phase plates to photowrite Bragg gratings. This process allows for control of the local value of the index modulation envelope in the grating. The application to apodized fiber Bragg gratings is discussed.  相似文献

The partial (Δ and the integral (ΔH) enthalpies of mixing of liquid Ni-Zr and Cu-Ni-Zr alloys have been determined by high-temperature isoperibolic calorimetry at 1565 ± 5 K. The heat capacity (C p) of liquid Ni26Zr74 has been measured by adiabatic calorimetry (C p=53.5±2.2 J mol−1 K−1 at 1261±15 K). The integral enthalpy of mixing changes with composition from a small positive (Cu-Ni, ΔH (x Ni=0.50, T=1473 to 1750 K)=2.9 kJ mol−1) to a moderate negative (Cu-Zr; ΔH(x Zr=0.46, T=1485 K)=−16.2 kJ mol−1) and a high negative value (Ni-Zr; ΔH(x Zr=0.37, T=1565 K)=−45.8 kJ mol−1). Regression analysis of new data, together with the literature data for liquid Ni-Zr alloys, results in the following relationships in kJ mol−1 (standard states: Cu (1), Ni (1), and Zr (1)):for Ni-Zr (1281≤T≤2270 K),
