The effects of an elevated temperature and a 5 wt% silicon addition on the resultant microstructure and inherent phases of Stellite 6 were investigated by using room and high temperature optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and also bulk hardness and microhardness measurements. It has been observed that exposing Stellite 6 to heat treatments at 1000°C results in a characteristic textured structure and coarsening of interdendritic regions due to bulk diffusion. In addition, both dendritic and interdendritic hardness values increase due to texture formation and increased amounts of carbide and intermetallic phases, respectively. On the other hand, silicon addition to Stellite 6 causes the transformation of the original spongy dendritic microstructure in as-cast Stellite 6 to a eutectic dendritic and skeleton interdendritic structure. Also, when silicon added Stellite 6 was heat treated at 1000°C, particulates emanating from the interdendritic skeleton become irregularly dispersed in the dendritic region. In addition, similarly to Stellite 6; a high temperature heat treatment results in an increase in hardness values of silicon added Stellite 6 due to the presence of an Co2 Si intermetallic phase.  相似文献

In the present study, the sliding wear resistances of ZrN and (Zr, 12 wt% Hf)N coatings deposited on a hardened AISI D2 tool steel by arc-physical vapor deposition (PVD) technique were examined by a ball-on-disc wear tester. Alloying of ZrN coating with 12 wt% Hf did not change the hardness significantly, but achieved an improvement on adhesion strength and dry sliding wear resistance against steel (AISI 52100-55HRC) and Al2O3 balls.  相似文献

A policy-based encryption scheme allows to encrypt a message according to a credential-based policy formalized as monotone Boolean expression written in standard normal form. The encryption is so that only the users having access to a qualified set of credentials for the policy are able to decrypt the message. In this paper, we first revisit the formal definition of policy-based encryption and describe a policy-based encryption scheme from bilinear pairings. Our scheme improves the one proposed in [W. Bagga and R. Molva. Policy-based cryptography and applications. In Proceedings of Financial Cryptography and Data Security (FC'05), volume 3570 of LNCS, pages 72–87. Springer-Verlag, 2005] in terms of ciphertext size, while at the same time preserving the computational efficiency. Then, we describe an application of policy-based encryption in the context of ad-hoc networks. More precisely, we show how the policy-based encryption primitive can be used to achieve a privacy-enhanced secure establishment of ad-hoc communities.  相似文献

In this article we investigate the impacts of interspacing and source polling policies on the cell‐loss rates in transmission of variable bit rate video sources over Asynchronous Transfer Mode networks. We present a mathematical model that finds the approximate optimal starting times of the video sources that minimize the congestion at the multiplexer. Combined with the approximate optimal source starting times, we propose a source ordering and polling policy for reducing the cell‐loss rates. The proposed policy is tested against alternative policies using simulation of pre‐recorded video data. The monitoring of the quality of service in digital television networks needs instruments to assess automatically the perceived quality of audio and video components of an MPEG2 signal. In order to improve the knowledge of the impact of the impairments on the final service, and to validate the algorithms that will be implemented in the quality evaluation instruments, a general simulation chain has been designed and developed. Polycrystalline aluminum was cyclically deformed under strain control at room temperature in the as-extruded form and different annealed conditions after forging. The dislocation substructure developed on saturation was examined by transmission electron microscopy. An inverse relationship was found between the saturation stress and dislocation cell size. Comparison of these results with those for aluminum, copper, and iron obtained under both monotonie and cyclic conditions at various temperatures indicated that the same form of equation with a different constant was characteristic of each of the three wavy slip mode metals. The relationship appears to be dependent upon the stacking fault energy of the particular material and independent of the type of deformation(i.e., monotonie or cyclic).  相似文献
