Thermoplastics start to manifest a nonlinear mechanical behavior from relatively low loading levels. Under a bending solicitation, which generates a nonuniform stress field, the material behavior becomes more challenging. Indeed, a flexed specimen may have different behaviors from one point to another according to the local stress state. In the present work, a six-parameter rheological model is used to simulate the nonlinear behavior of an elastoviscoplastic beam, subjected to a three-point bending load. In the framework of Euler–Bernoulli theory, the mathematical formulation of a bent beam behavior involves the bending curvature function. This function allows the determination of the strain and stress fields along and through the beam. However, when the beam reaches the viscoplastic stage, the differential equation providing the bending curvature of the beam requires a numerical integration, which has been accomplished in this work. This theoretical modeling approach is supported by experimental creep tests carried out on polyamide specimens (PA6). The testing results are qualitatively consistent with the predictions of the proposed rheological model.  相似文献

The present study is an attempt to valorize local vegetable fibers by evaluating thire effectiveness as a new composite biomaterial. Our aim was to determine the mechanical characteristics, namely the elastic modulus and Poisson’s coefficient, of a fiber, locally called “Lif,” that is a natural material extracted from different date palm tree varieties in Biskra, a region situated in southeastern Algeria. This study compares the mechanical characteristcs of the Lif date palm tree fiber with other synthetic and plant fibers studied previously.  相似文献

The role of electric fields in stabilising combustion is a well-known phenomenon. Among the possible mechanisms favouring the anchorage of the flame base, the ion-driven wind acting directly on flow momentum ahead of the flame base could be the leading one. Direct numerical simulation has been used to verify this hypothesis and lead to a better understanding of diffusion flame base anchoring in the presence of an externally applied voltage. In this context, a simplified modelling approach is proposed to describe combustion in the presence of electric body forces. The model reproduces the tendencies of experimental observations found in the literature. The sensitivity of the flame lift-off height to the applied voltage is studied and the modification of the velocity field ahead of the flame base induced by the electric volume forces is highlighted.  相似文献

The structure of various Co/Au(111) multilayers has been investigated, using electron diffraction and high resolution electron microscopy (HREM). The multilayers were grown by electron beam evaporation on a float glass substrate. The cobalt layers exhibit a face centred cubic (f.c.c.) structure with the cobalt [111] axis parallel to the gold [111] axis. For cobalt layers, this f.c.c. structure hadn't been observed in Co/Au multilayers before. Measurements were done on digitized electron diffraction patterns and high resolution images. An important volume expansion of the cobalt lattice and good epitaxial relations between cobalt and gold were observed.  相似文献
