The numerical simulation of horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWTs) with untwisted blade was performed to determine the optimal angle of attack that produces the highest power output. The numerical solution was carried out by solving conservation equations in a rotating reference frame wherein the blades and grids were fixed in relation to the rotating frame. Computational results of the 12° pitch compare favorably with the field experimental data of The National Renewable Laboratory (USA), for both inviscid and turbulent conditions. Numerical experiments were then conducted by varying the pitch angles and the wind speeds. The power outputs reach maximum at pitch angles: 4.12°, 5.28°, 6.66° and 8.76° for the wind speeds 7.2, 8.0, 9.0 and 10.5 m/s, respectively. The optimal angles of attack were then obtained from the data.  相似文献

Antioxidant activities of protein hydrolysates from threadfin bream surimi wastes, including frame, bone and skin (FBS) and refiner discharge (RD), were investigated. FBS and RD were rich in Lys, Glu, Gly, Pro, Asp, Leu, His, Tyr and Phe. FBS was hydrolysed to a greater extent than RD regardless of proteinases tested (Virgibacillus sp. SK33 proteinase, Alcalase, pepsin and trypsin). Pepsin-hydrolysed FBS, at a 5% degree of hydrolysis (DH), showed the highest antioxidant activity based on 2,2′-azinobis (3-ethyl-benzothiazoline-6-sulphonate) (ABTS) radical (0.455 ± 0.054 mg Trolox equivalents/mg leucine equivalents), ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) (0.221 ± 0.005 mM Trolox equivalents) and inhibition of β-carotene bleaching assays. FBS hydrolysates showed higher antioxidant activity based on chemical assays than their RD counterparts. However, FBS and RD hydrolysates protected HepG2 cells against tert-butyl hydroperoxide-induced oxidative damage to a similar extent. Therefore, FBS and RD hydrolysates have a potential as antioxidative neutraceutical ingredients.  相似文献

The effect of thermal treatments on chemical and cellular antioxidant activities of chicken breasts subjected to in vitro gastrointestinal digestion was investigated. Breast of Korat crossbred chicken (KC) and commercial broiler (BR) were cooked under various conditions, namely heating at 70 °C for 30 min (H‐0.5) and 24 h (H‐24), autoclaving (AC) at 121°C for 15 min (AC‐15) and 60 min (AC‐60). Protein digestibility decreased upon the extreme thermal treatment of AC‐60. The H‐0.5 improved metal chelating activity of KC digesta, FRAP, and anti‐liposome oxidation of BR digesta. Digesta of BR/H‐0.5 and KC/AC‐15 at 50 μg/mL exhibited the highest cytoprotective effect against tert‐butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP)‐induced oxidative damage of HepG2 cells. In addition, the KC/AC‐15 digesta at a concentration as low as 12.5 μg/mL inhibited intracellular TBHP‐induced reactive oxyfen species (ROS) production (P < 0.05). Thus, the digesta of KC breasts subjected to AC‐15 provides not only nutritional value but also antioxidant activity at the cellular level.  相似文献

The solar chimney power plant is a relatively new technology for generating electricity from solar energy. In this paper dimensional analysis is used together with engineering intuition to combine eight primitive variables into only one dimensionless variable that establishes a dynamic similarity between a prototype and its scaled models. Three physical configurations of the plant were numerically tested for similarity: fully geometrically similar, partially geometrically similar, and dissimilar types. The values of the proposed dimensionless variable for all these cases were found to be nominally equal to unity. The value for the physical plant actually built and tested previously was also evaluated and found to be about the same as that of the numerical simulations, suggesting the validity of the proposition. The physical meaning of this dimensionless (similarity) variable is also interpreted; and the connection between the Richardson number and this new variable was found. It was found also that, for a fixed solar heat flux, different-sized models that are fully or partially geometrically similar share an equal excess temperature across the roof outlet.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity and possible mode of action of partially purified peptides derived from threadfin bream surimi byproduct. The frame, bone and skin (FBS) byproduct, which was obtained from a deboning process, was hydrolyzed by Virgibacillus sp. SK33 proteinase and fractionated using anion exchange and size exclusion chromatography. Three fractions, i.e., B1, B2 and B3, were obtained, and the amino acid sequences of the peptides in all 3 fractions were determined using LC-MS/MS. Fractions B2 and B3 contained higher amounts of Trp, Met, Cys and Tyr residues than fraction B1. Fraction B3 exhibited high ABTS radical scavenging activity and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), while metal chelation and hydroxyl radical scavenging ability were principle modes of action of peptides in fraction B2 and B3. In addition, fraction B1 and a synthetic peptide selected from the pooled de novo peptides of fraction B3, FLGSFLYEYSR, had a cellular radical scavenging effect when HepG2 cells were treated with H2O2.  相似文献
