Indoor surfaces may be adsorptive sinks with the potential to change Indoor Air Quality. To estimate this effect, the sorption parameters of formaldehyde and toluene were assessed on five floorings by an experimental method using solid-phase microextraction in an airtight emission cell. Adsorption rate constants ranged from 0.003 to 0.075 m·h−1, desorption rate constants from 0.019 to 0.51 h−1, and the partition coefficient from 0.005 to 3.9 m, and these parameters vary greatly from one volatile organic compound/material couple to another indicating contrasted sorption behaviors. A rubber was identified as a sink of formaldehyde characterized by a very low desorption constant close to 0. For these sorbent floorings identified, the adsorption rates of formaldehyde are from 2 to 4 times higher than those of toluene. Two models were used to evaluate the sink effects of floorings on indoor pollutant concentrations in one room from different realistic conditions. The scenarios tested came to the conclusion that the formaldehyde sorption on one rubber (identified as a sink) has a maximum contribution from 15% to 21% for the conditions of low air exchange rate. For other floorings, the sorption has a minor contribution less than or equal to 5%, regardless of the air exchange rate.  相似文献

This paper presents the physical design methodology of the VCI/SPIN wrappers. The challenge was the validation of the wrappers’ specification with Alliance CAD Tools.A wrapper is a standard gateway used by a subscriber to access an interconnect. Because there are as many wrappers as subscribers, it is relevant to have an estimation of the wrapper’s area, its frequency and then compare these results to the router’s.The interest to perform this study with academic tools is to show that commercial tools are not the unique way for experimentations.  相似文献

The Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) was used to investigate the spatial and temporal dynamics of chlorophyll-a (chl-a) in Erhai Lake, the second largest freshwater lake in the Yunnan province of China. Six chl-a retrieval models, including four Basic ERS & Envisat (A)ATSR and Meris Toolbox (BEAM) software-incorporated algorithms and MERIS three-band and two-band models, were validated to find the best fit to extract chl-a concentration in Erhai Lake. With a chl-a range of 5–15 mg m–3, the Lakes/Eutrophic method showed the best performance. The algorithm was then applied to eight-year cloud-free MERIS images between 2003 and 2009, with seasonal and inter-annual variability analysed. Long-term chl-a distributions of Erhai Lake revealed significant seasonal and inter-annual variability. The mean chl-a of the south lake was higher in summer (14.3 mg m–3) than in spring (10.1 mg m–3), while generally lower chl-a was found in the north lake with a mean chl-a of 6.4 mg m–3 in spring and 9.0 mg m–3 in summer, respectively. An increasing trend was found between 2006 and 2009, and the increasing rate was 12.9% for annual chl-a of the entire lake. While chl-a seasonality was attributed to the seasonal changes of the local temperature, the inter-annual variation was possibly linked to the discharged wastewater from Dali City. This work could provide critical information for decision-makers to manage Erhai Lake’s aquatic ecosystems.  相似文献

Initial moisture and pre-wetting method influence on the water absorption of recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) have been studied experimentally. For this purpose, RCA were pre-wetted by three methods: soaking under partial vacuum (simulating long term wetting), soaking under atmospheric pressure, and spraying (simulating short term wetting). The results show that the same initial amount of water in two samples of RCA do not lead to the same total amount of water absorbed by RCA during 5–120 min. The latter depends on the way they have been pre-wetted (either long term or short term). It is suggested that this phenomenon is related to the accessibility filled pores in the different pre-wetting methods. So, the pre-wetting history of RCA could change the amount of total water absorbed by the RCA up to 1%. When mixing and casting concrete are produced with RCA, the corresponding error in the determination of the effective water should have adverse effects on the fresh and hardened concrete characteristics. In this study real applications on mixtures of recycled concrete have been carried out, where the influence of initial moisture content and pre-wetting history of RCA on fresh recycled concrete properties (slump) have been investigated.  相似文献

Fifty Holstein dairy cows (26 primiparous) were used to evaluate effects of level of concentrate and of slow release recombinant bST on plasma hormones and metabolites. Blood was sampled at wk 14 and 20 of lactation, which was 5 and 11 wk after the first bST injection. In addition, at d 3 and 10 after the third bST injection, diurnal profiles of somatotropin and metabolites were studied in 7 bST cows and 5 control cows by blood sampling every 20 min over 6 h. Supplementation by bST enhanced plasma somatotropin and insulin-like growth factor-I but did not significantly affect plasma concentrations of triiodothyronin and insulin. The bST supplementation increased plasma NEFA at wk 14 and reduced uremia at wk 20. Primiparous cows showed higher plasma NEFA and triiodothyronin than multiparous cows at both sampling periods, higher insulin-like growth factor I, and lower beta-hydroxybutyrate at wk 14, and higher glucose and lower insulin at wk 20. In the diurnal kinetic study, bST supplementation did not alter bST spike frequency and duration but increased spike magnitude, the area under the curve above the baseline, and the baseline mean. Sixty-one to 56% of the increase over controls in plasma bST total area was due to increase in the area under the curve above baseline. Preprandial NEFA were increased by bST at d 10.  相似文献

Three intensive consolidation strategies are currently proposed to younger adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in first complete remission (CR): allogeneic or autologous bone marrow transplantation (BMT) and intensive consolidation chemotherapy (ICC). Patients aged 15 to 50 years with de novo AML received an induction treatment with 7 days of cytarabine and either idarubicin or rubidazone. After achievement of a CR, patients up to the age of 40 and having an HLA-identical sibling were assigned to undergo an allogeneic BMT. All the other patients received a first course of ICC with high-dose cytarabine and the same anthracycline as for induction. They were then randomly assigned to either receive a second course of ICC with amsacrine and etoposide or a combination of busulfan and cyclosphosphamide followed by an unpurged autologous BMT. Of 517 eligible patients, 367 had a CR, but only 219 (59.5%) actually received the planned intensive postremission treatment (73 allogeneic BMT, 75 autologous BMT, and 71 ICC). With a median follow-up of 62 months, the 4-year disease-free survival (DFS) of the 367 patients in CR was 39.5%. The 4-year overall survival (OS) of the 517 eligible patients was 40.5%. In multivariate analysis, DFS and OS were influenced only by the initial white blood cell count and by the French-American-British classification. The type of postremission therapy had no significant impact on the outcome. There was no difference in the 4-year DFS and OS between 88 patients for whom an allogeneic BMT was scheduled (respectively, 44% and 53%) and 134 patients of the same age category and without an HLA-identical sibling (respectively, 38% and 53%). Similarly, there was no difference in the outcome between autologous BMT and ICC. The 4-year DFS was 44% for the 86 patients randomly assigned to autologous BMT and 40% for the 78 patients assigned to ICC (P = .41). The 4-year OS was similar in the two groups (50% v 54.5%, P = .72). The median duration of hospitalization and thrombocytopenia were longer after autologous BMT (39 v 32 days, P = .006, and 109.5 v 18.5 days, P = .0001, respectively). After a first course of ICC, a second course of chemotherapy is less myelotoxic than an unpurged autologous BMT but yields comparable DFS and OS rates.  相似文献

This work reports adhesion behaviour of polyethylene on paper, and deals with the surface energy of the materials involved in the manufacture of these composites, and its influence on the adhesion strength, at constant roughness, for the paper substrates. The surface energy of different papers treated with various sizing agents was determined by measuring contact angles according to the Owens-Wendt method. The peeling energy was shown to follow a linear relationship versus the reversible energy of adhesion. This result is explained by the fact that rupture takes place at the interface and that the size of the defect at the interface depends on the spreading coefficient. Corona treatment, applied to strongly sized papers before making the composites, restored the adhesion strength to its original range of values, again demonstrating the thermodynamic character of adhesion in thermoplastic-paper composites.  相似文献

Concomitant with the launching of the French pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear power program, a large research and development (R&D) effort was initiated, devoted to the steam generators (SGs). This program, managed cooperatively by Framatome, the SG designer and manufacturer; Electricité de France (EDF), the French electrical utility; and the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (CEA), the French Atomic Energy Commission, primarily responsible for nuclear research; was focused on four main objectives:
1. (1) To obtain a better understanding of the physical phenomena existing in these steam generators and leading to SG performance alterations or operating life reductions.
2. (2) To test and validate improved design solutions for the model 51 Framatome steam generator, which was the first one designed under Westinghouse license.
3. (3) To test and validate new Framatome SG designs.
4. (4) To test and validate new, high-performance design tools.
This vast R&D program covers the following theses:
• - SG thermal-hydraulics,
• - SG tube vibration and wear,
• - SG materials (production, corrosion, etc.),
• - Primary and secondary fluid chemistry,
• - SG technology (manufacturing processes, NDT, etc.),
• - SG in-service inspection, and
• - SG maintenance.
These themes are too numerous to be dealt with in a single article. Consequently, the present article will focus on only the first two themes.  相似文献
