This case report details the multidisciplinary treatment of peripartum left iliac vein thrombosis using percutaneous catheter-directed urokinase thrombolysis and balloon thromboplasty. Enhanced chances for long-term patency and the normalization of venous function make these minimally invasive procedures accepted options for the treatment of iliofemoral deep venous thrombosis in selected peripartum patients.  相似文献

1. The spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR) exhibits a lower bodyweight in utero and an exaggerated salt appetite post partum. To determine whether salt appetite is affected by the perinatal environment, we measured the salt appetite of embryo-cross-transferred SHR and Wistar Kyoto (WKY) rats at maturity. 2. One-cell embryos were collected from the oviducts of donor rats and transferred into the oviducts of recipients through the infundibulum. The salt appetite of the resultant female offspring for 0.10 and 0.15 mol/L saline was measured at 20-30 weeks of age. 3. Salt intake of SHR gestated in WKY rats was significantly lower than that of SHR gestated in SHR, while that of WKY rats gestated in SHR was higher than that of WKY rats gestated in WKY rats. 4. Therefore, some maternal factor plays a role in the development of the exaggerated salt appetite of the SHR. This factor is also able to affect the later salt appetite of WKY rat offspring born to SHR surrogates.  相似文献

The influence of the addition of two ethylene-propylene random copolymers (EPM) with different composition on the mechanical properties, thermal behavior and overall morphology of high density polyethylene (HDPE)/isotactic polypropylene (iPP) blends, was investigated on extruded samples. The experimental data showed that the morphology of binary HDPE/iPP blends is drastically modified by these additives and that the ultimate mechanical properties of these mixtures are greatly improved. A reasonable explanation of these results can be ascribed to the fact that these copolymers can act as “compatibilizing agents” in the amorphous regions of the two semicrystalline homopolymers. The extent of such effects is dependent on the chemical structure and/or on the molecular mass of the added copolymer as well as on the HDPE/iPP blend compositions.  相似文献

Two random commercial ethylene-propylene copolymers (EPM) with different ethylene content have been added to binary isotactic polypropylene (iPP)/high density polyethylene (HDPE) blends by melt mixing in a Brabender-like apparatus. Impact Izod tests and a morphological analysis on the fractured surfaces of broken specimens have been performed and discussed, in order to improve the deficiency in toughness of the binary HDPE/iPP mixtures. The results show that the impact performance of both homopolymers and HDPE/iPP binary blends is strongly improved by the addition of the EPM copolymers. Such an effect is related to the fact that the overall morphology, as well as the mechanism and mode of fracture, are greatly modified by the presence of such additives. The extent is dependent on factors such as the nature of the matrix (HDPE or iPP), the composition, and the chemical structure and/or the molecular mass of the added copolymer.  相似文献

The phase morphology and structure of thermoplastic elastomers obtained from isotactic polypropylene (iPP) and ethylene—propylene random copolymer (EPR) blends by means of the dynamic curing of EPR rubbery component carried out during its melt mixing with iPP in a Banbury mixer at 180°C were investigated. Samples obtained by compression molding and by using isothermal crystallization conditions of the iPP phase were analyzed by means of differential scanning calorimetry, of optical, scanning, and transmission electron microscopy, and of wide-angle and small-angle X-ray diffraction. The influence of cooling below the melting point and of EPR molecular structure on the kinetic and thermodynamic parameters related to crystallization process of the iPP phase was also studied. It was found that the process of dynamic curing of the EPR component dramatically affects the development of the phase morphology and structure in the material. As a matter of fact, the blend containing the uncured EPR is characterized by the presence of iPP domains randomly distributed in the EPR rubbery matrix, whereas in the blend containing the cured EPR the iPP phase becomes the continuous phase crystallizing in a structure that resembles a cobweb tending to surround the EPR cured particles; moreover such an iPP cobweb appears to be contituted by row structures of stacked lamellae. It was found that the addition of EPR phase interferes dramatically with the crystallization process of the iPP, thus inducing drastic modification in its intrinsic morphology (size, neatness, regularity of spherulites, inner structure of spherulites, etc.). Such interference was found to be comparatively stronger when the iPP phase crystallizes in presence of cured EPR. The elastic behavior of the thermoplastic elastomer material was accounted for by applying the “leaf spring model” to the morphology and structure of the iPP phase crystallized in presence of cured EPR. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

We present a systematic study of the changes induced in the refractive-index profile of different sets of K -Na + ion-exchanged waveguides on soda-lime and BK7 substrates because of thermal annealing in the presence or absence of salt vapors. The concentration of potassium is recovered by secondary ion mass spectrometry, and the propagation losses are measured by means of the three-prism configuration.  相似文献

A large number of methods for circle detection have been studied in the last years for several image processing applications. The context application considered in this work is the soccer game. In the sequences of soccer images it is very important to identify the ball in order to verify the goal event. This domain is a challenging one as a great number of problems have to be faced, such as occlusions, shadows, objects similar to the ball, real-time processing and so on. In this work a visual framework trying to solve the above-stated problems, mainly considering real-time computational aspects, has been developed. The ball detection algorithm has to be very simple in terms of time processing and also has to be efficient in terms of false positive rate. Our framework consists of two sequential steps for solving the ball recognition problem: the first step uses a modified version of the directional circle Hough transform to detect the region of the image that is the best candidate to contain the ball; in the second step a neural classifier is applied on the selected region to confirm if the ball has been properly detected or a false positive has been found. Some tricks like background subtraction and ball tracking have been applied in order to maintain the search of the ball only in limited areas of the image. Different light conditions have been considered as they introduce strong modifications on the appearance of the ball in the image: when the image sequences are taken with natural light, as the light source is strictly directional, the ball, due to self-shades, appears as a spherical cap; this case has been taken in account and the search of the ball has been modified in order to manage this situation. A large number of experiments have been carried out showing that the proposed method obtains a high detection score.  相似文献

We report the results of a study to evaluate the growth rate of three species of mould on plasters, finishes and paints typically used in structures with heavy weight building envelopes. The aim was to determine the influence of the chemical composition (in terms of organic fraction of the materials) on the growth rate of moulds. The study was carried out in the following steps: – characterization of materials; – inoculation of mould spores (3 species) on 7 types of material (2 plasters, 3 finishes, 2 paints); – growth in a climatic chamber (23 °C and 90% RH); – analysis of the mould growth rate using various experimental techniques (fluorescence microscopy analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, etc.). Results show a clear correlation between the organic substances contained in paints, plasters and finishes and the growth rate of the mould.  相似文献

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxation methods have been used to investigate the internal structure of porous silica gelled from colloidal silica and potassium silicate mixtures. These materials possess a narrow pore size distribution with average pore diameter ranging from 470 to 2400 Å (47 to 240 nm) as determined from mercury intrusion porosimetry. NMR relaxation measurements were performed on deionized water impregnated into the pore space. These results determine the distribution of local surface-to-volume ratios and show that all of the silica samples are very uniform on a length scale greater than 5 μ. NMR relaxation measurements performed on silica samples partially filled with water provide a precise confirmation of the theoretical model upon which the NMR pore structure analysis is based. Measurements of the relaxation strength at the water—silica interface were found to depend systematically on the initial composition of the material. The self-diffusion coefficient of water, saturated in the pore space, is reduced by 14% from its bulk value.  相似文献
