Results of testing a centrifugal bubble singlet-oxygen generator

The results of parametric tests of a centrifugal bubble singlet-oxygen generator based on the reaction of chlorine with an alkaline hydrogen peroxide solution have been given. The utilization of chlorine grows with bubble-layer height, whereas the relative content of O₂(¹Δ) remains constant. Growth in centrifugal acceleration leads to a more efficient utilization of chlorine. A specific oxygen output of more than 1 mmole·cm⁻²·sec⁻¹ from the bubble layer for a degree of chlorine utilization of ∼95% and a singlet-oxygen yield of more than 50% has been attained. It has been shown that a centrifugal bubble singlet-oxygen generator is an efficient energy source for an oxygen-iodine laser. __________ Translated from Inzhenerno-Fizicheskii Zhurnal, Vol. 80, No. 3, pp. 121–128, May–June, 2007.     

Characteristics of the nutrition of the male population of Ufa

The method of daily ration reproduction was used to study the actual nutrition of 25% of male subsampling comprising 674 subjects, during the epidemiological investigation of unorganized male population in a region of Ufa. The results of the study have shown that the caloric value of their nutrition does not exceed the established standards and is diminished with age. Protein consumption meets the physiological requirements, animal proteins prevail in their structure. Carbohydrate consumption is low, mainly at the expense of starch, while the share of sugar is high. Fat consumption exceeds the values recommended, mainly at the expense of saturated fatty acids. Cholesterol consumption is excessive. The established nutrition imbalance of the main food substances has evidenced the atherogenic character of the population nutrition, prevalence of animal food products in its structure, that should be taken into consideration when measures for the prevention of coronary heart disease are elaborated.     

Singlet oxygen generator based on the reaction of chlorine with filament-guided jets of basic hydrogen peroxide

The chlorine utilization efficiency and singlet oxygen concentration are determined as functions of the chlorine flow rate, the base concentration, and the flow rate and temperature of basic hydrogen peroxide in a singlet oxygen generator based on the reaction of chlorine with filament-guided descending basic hydrogen peroxide jets. The effluent gas, without aerosol entrainment, contains about 10% residual chlorine and more than 60% singlet oxygen.

Several aminoimidazolines and their derivatives are produced from di-and polypropylene polyamines and higher isomeric acids.
