Ultra-strong, well-apodised Bragg gratings in chalcogenide rib waveguides   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The first ultra-strong, near-perfect, raised-apodised Bragg gratings in As/sub 2/S/sub 3/ chalcogenide rib waveguides using /spl lambda/=532 nm light and a modified Sagnac holographic writing setup are demonstrated. Good agreement is achieved between the experimental results and the numerical modelling of the gratings using the transfer matrix analysis for thin film structures.  相似文献

A comparison of antireflection surfaces based on the two-dimensional binary gratings and thin-film coatings is presented. First, a two-dimensional hybrid binary grating is proposed and analyzed by use of a vector-based implementation of the rigorous coupled-wave analysis method. The optimum parameters of the structure are determined and the effects that changing them have on spectral characteristics of the structure are studied. Then this structure is compared with multilayer thin-film antireflection filters. These filters are designed by genetic algorithm and needle methods, which are powerful methods for multilayer filter design. The comparison results show that the sensitivity of the grating to changes in the incident wavelength is high. However, a reflectance of the order of 10(-3)% at the design wavelength can be achieved. The sensitivity of designed antireflection thin-film filters to wavelength changes is lower, however, and the minimum achievable reflectance is higher.  相似文献

In this research, nickel oxide (NiO) transparent semiconducting films are prepared by spray pyrolysis technique on glass substrates. The effect of Ni concentration in initial solution and substrate temperature on the structural, electrical, thermoelectrical, optical and photoconductivity properties of NiO thin films are studied. The results of investigations show that optimum Ni concentration and suitable substrate temperature for preparation of basic undoped NiO thin films with p-type conductivity and high optical transparency is 0.1 M and 450 °C, respectively. Then, by using these optimized deposition parameters, nickel-lithium oxide ((Li:Ni)Ox) alloy films are prepared. The XRD structural analysis indicate the formation of the cubic structure of NiO and (Li:Ni)Ox alloy films. Also, in high Li doping levels, Ni2O3 and NiCl2 phases are observed. The electrical measurements show that the resistance of the films decreases with increasing Li level up to 50 at%. For these films, the optical band gap and carrier concentration are obtained to be 3.6 eV and 1015-1018 cm−3, respectively.  相似文献

We demonstrate integrated all-optical 2R regenerators based on Kerr optical nonlinearities (subpicosecond response) in chalcogenide glass waveguides with integrated Bragg grating filters. By combining a low loss As/sub 2/S/sub 3/ rib waveguide with an in-waveguide photo-written Bragg grating filter, we realize an integrated all-optical 2R signal regenerator with the potential to process bit rates in excess of 1 Tb/s. The device operates using a combination of self phase modulation induced spectral broadening followed by a linear filter offset from the input center wavelength. A nonlinear power transfer curve is demonstrated using 1.4 ps pulses, sufficient for suppressing noise in an amplified transmission link. We investigate the role of dispersion on the device transfer characteristics, and discuss future avenues to realizing a device capable of operation at subwatt peak power levels.  相似文献
