In this letter we investigate the packet delay statistics of a fully reliable selective repeat ARQ scheme by considering a discrete time Markov channel with non-instantaneous feedback and assigned round-trip delay m. Our focus is on studying the impact of the arrival process on the delay experienced by a packet. An exact model is introduced to represent the system constituted by the transmitter buffer, the m round-trip slots, and the channel state. Multicellular networks based on the IEEE 802.16 standard appear to be very promising candidates to provide end users with broadband wireless access. However, they also pose interesting challenges in terms of radio resource management, where several design choices are not specified in the standard, intentionally left open to implementors. For this reason, we focus in this article on scheduling and resource allocation, and investigate how they could operate in a cross-layer fashion. In particular, we describe the principles of joint scheduling and resource allocation for IEEE 802.16 operating in AMC mode, and discuss the critical role played by physical layer considerations, especially intercell interference estimation and channel state awareness, in the obtained performance. Thrombopoietin (TPO) or Mpl ligand is the primary physiological regulator of platelet production. This cytokine is the most potent stimulator of the proliferation and differentiation of MK progenitor and precursor cells in vitro. It also acts additively or synergistically with several cytokines on progenitor cells from various hematopoietic lineages, including the primitive stem cells. The factor is an extremely potent thrombocytopoietic agent when administrated to normal animals, and it accelerates platelet and erythropoietic recovery in several models of myelosuppression. Phase I/II clinical trials are ongoing with no detectable adverse effects. Mpl ligand does not induce platelet aggregation, but it lowers the platelet sensitivity to physiological dose of agonists. In experimental mouse models, high and chronic dose of Mpl ligand results in myelofibrosis. TPO is constantly produced by the liver and the kidney; its plasmatic clearance occurs by binding to its receptor expressed on megakaryocytes and platelets. However, the full spectrum of the biological effects of this new cytokine is not fully understood, in particular its the role in the terminal stage of platelet production. Although theoretically necessary, social capital is usually not considered within the process of asset allocation for private
investors. Both the lack of appropriate practical valuation concepts and the effort of providing and processing the required
information as input for a valuation have been obstacles to properly include social capital in this process. However, first
theoretical financial models for the evaluation of social capital have recently become available. Moreover, the fast growth
of business community websites and the technological progress in Web 2.0 tools that allow and acquire the active involvement
of users, facilitate the provision and processing of valuation-relevant information. In this paper we focus on this second

In Experiment 1, children performed a Simon task after a spatially compatible or incompatible task. Results showed a Simon effect after the spatially compatible task and a reversed Simon effect after the spatially incompatible task. In Experiments 2–5, an identical procedure was adopted with adult participants, who performed the Simon task immediately after, a day after, or a week after the spatial compatibility task. Experiment 6 established a baseline for the Simon effect. Results showed a Simon effect after the spatially compatible task and no Simon effect or a reversed Simon effect after the spatially incompatible task. A modified version of the computational model of M. Zorzi and C. Umiltà (1995) was used to compare possible accounts of the findings. Gate oxide reliability can be effectively improved by using dry field oxidation instead of the conventional wet one.
