Variation of magnetic critical current density (J mc) and transport critical current density (J tc) in high magnetic fields at liquid helium temperature were investigated on Sm-Ba-Cu-O: Ag x (x=0.0, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6) superconducting samples prepared by the coprecipitation technique.T c and crystallographic parameters remain unaffected by Ag addition. However, bothJ mc andJ tc were found to increase on Ag addition. The volume pinning force (F p) also increased with increase in Ag concentration, resulting in stronger flux line sheer. Microwave-induced d.c. voltage measurement shows a significant reduction of the total number of weak links between the superconducting grains with increasing concentration of Ag, which creates stronger pinning potentials between the boundary of the superconducting intergrains. Hence, the volume pinning force is greatly enhanced by Ag addition, leading to flux line lattice movement which is responsible for highJ mc andJ tc.  相似文献

Magnetization and magnetic relaxation measurements have been studied at 4.2 K on YBa2Cu3O7–:Ag x (x=0 to 1.2) superconducting samples prepared by a coprecipritation technique. Remanent magnetization and hysteresis loops were found to be increased on Ag addition. Transport current density (J c) was enhanced with the addition of Ag concentration. Flux creep rate was also increased with increase in Ag addition resulting in stronger pinning potential. Microwave-induced d.c. voltage measurements show a reduction of weak links with increase in Ag concentration. The enhancement of transportT c is attributed to the stronger Josephson current paths due to the reduction of the total number of weak links after Ag addition.  相似文献

The experimental results of an air-core pulse transformer are presented, which is very compact (<10 Kg in weight) and is primed by a capacitor bank that is fabricated in such a way that the capacitor bank with its switch takes the shape of single-turn rectangular shaped primary of the transformer. A high voltage capacitor assembly (pulse-forming-line capacitor, PFL) of 5.1 nF is connected with the secondary of transformer. The transformer output voltage is 160 kV in its second peak appearing in less than 2 μS from the beginning of the capacitor discharge. The primary capacitor bank can be charged up to a maximum of 18 kV, with the voltage delivery of 360 kV in similar capacitive loads.  相似文献

The n-type GaN layers were grown by plasma-assisted MBE and either intentionally doped with Si or unintentionally doped. The optical characteristics of a donor level in Si-doped, GaN were studied in terms of photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy as a function of electron concentration. Temperature dependent PL measurements allowed us to estimate the activation energy of a Si-related donor from temperature-induced decay of PL intensity. PL peak positions, full width at half maximum of PL and activation energies are found to be proportional to the cube root of carrier density. The involvement of donor levels is supported by the temperature-dependent electron concentration measurements.  相似文献

Numerical investigations on natural convection heat transfer from a vertical isothermal plate with pin fins have been made by solving the Navier–Stokes equation along with the energy equation. Average Nusselt number for the plate with different configurations of pin fins have been obtained. It was observed that the maximum increase of the average Nusselt number occurs at Sv/L?=?0.2 for θ?=?45° with fin height of 24?mm (H/t?=?8). The average Nusselt number increases with fin aspect ratio and decreases with angle of inclination. There is not much difference between the average Nusselt number for in-line and staggered arrangement of fins for the range of parameters studied in the present work. A correlation is developed to predict the average Nusselt number of the plate as a function of fin spacing in stream- and span-wise direction, aspect ratio of fins and its angle of inclination.  相似文献

We fabricated ZnS nanocrystals decorated single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) based chemiresistive sensor for DNA. Since the charge transfer in the hybrid nanostructures is considered to be responsible for many of their unique properties, the role of ZnS nanocrystals toward its performance in DNA sensor was delineated. It was found that the free carboxyl groups surrounding the ZnS nanocrystals allowed large loading of single strand DNA (ssDNA) probe that provided an ease of hybridization with target complementary c-ssDNA resulting in large electron transfer to SWNT. Thus it provided a significant improvement in sensitivity toward c-ssDNA as compared to bare SWNT based DNA sensor.  相似文献

AIMS: This study was designed to assess the changes in left ventricular mass (LVM) in hypertensive patients with left ventricular hypertrophy under drug therapy with once-daily slow-release diltiazem. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used for this purpose because of its higher reproducibility than M-mode or two-dimensional echocardiography. METHODS: Patients suffering from essential hypertension were included if their baseline LVM index (LVMI) was > or = 105 g/m2 in male or > or = 85 g/m2 in female patients, ie, equal or higher to the median values observed in hypertensive patients in our institution. MRI consisted in a true short-axis, electrocardiogram (ECG) gated spin-echo slice acquisition at baseline, after 3 and 6 months of therapy (M0, M3, and M6). Data were stored on magnetic tapes and read subsequently under blind conditions and the control of an external auditor. RESULTS: Thirty-five patients were included. Of these, 14 patients (40%) were not previously treated. Inter- and intra-observer variability for LVMI measurement were 5.6 +/- 4.3% and 2.1 +/- 3.0%, respectively. Mean baseline LVMI was 110 +/- 16 g/m2 in male and 96 +/- 16 g/m2 in female patients. It decreased by 3.6% at M3 (P = 0.05) and by 6.0% at M6 (P = 0.02). A trend towards a greater LVMI reduction was observed in previously untreated patients. CONCLUSION: This study confirms that MRI is a reproducible technique for the measurement of LVM. It demonstrates a significant reduction in LVMI as early as the 3rd month of therapy in hypertensive patients treated with once-daily sustained release (SR) diltiazem, although baseline LVMI in the majority of participating patients was only moderately increased.  相似文献

Enhancement in room temperature ferromagnetism has been observed in Mn doped ZnO, when co-doped with Ni. In the co-doped system, Ni-O-Ni and Ni-O-Mn carrier mediated exchange interaction dominates the Mn-O-Mn exchange interaction which causes a fair increase in the value of saturation magnetization at room temperature. It is believed that the simultaneous doping of Ni and Mn onto ZnO increases the carrier concentration in form of clusters of oxygen vacancies and hence favors the carrier mediated exchange interaction for the enhancement of magnetic moments in the system.  相似文献
