Single point, sender based control does not scale well for multicast delivery. For applications, such as group video or teleconferencing a low total cost multicast tree is required. In this article we present a destination driven algorithm to minimize the total tree cost of multicast tree in a dynamic situation for the whole session duration. In this heuristic approach we considered the staying duration of participants are available at the time of joining. The performance of our algorithm is analyzed through extensive simulation and evaluated against several other existing dynamic multicast routing and also against one well known near optimum heuristic algorithm used for solving Steiner tree problem. We have further tested our algorithm using erroneous information given by the joining participants. Simulation results show that its performance does not degrade that much even when the range of error is considerably high, which proves the robustness of our algorithm.  相似文献

Failure analysis of a steel chimney used in a lime plant was carried out. The chimney broke from two different locations during a storm. During the site visit, it was observed that the chimney was dislodged from weld joints. The chimney was made up of hot rolled mild steel plates. Investigations were carried out on the failed chimney plate and welding between plates. The investigation consists of visual observation, chemical analysis, characterization of macro- and microstructures, measurement of hardness, tensile property tests and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Calculation of wind load at the location of breakage was also carried out. EDS analysis revealed entrapment of slag inside weld. Overall analysis suggested that the failure took place due to selection of improper reconditioning technique as well as poor workmanship in welding.  相似文献

Pre-processing is one of the vital steps for developing robust and efficient recognition system. Better pre-processing not only aid in better data selection but also in significant reduction of computational complexity. Further an efficient frame selection technique can improve the overall performance of the system. Pre-quantization (PQ) is the technique of selecting less number of frames in the pre-processing stage to reduce the computational burden in the post processing stages of speaker identification (SI). In this paper, we develop PQ techniques based on spectral entropy and spectral shape to pick suitable frames containing speaker specific information that varies from frame to frame depending on spoken text and environmental conditions. The attempt is to exploit the statistical properties of distributions of speech frames at the pre-processing stage of speaker recognition. Our aim is not only to reduce the frame rate but also to maintain identification accuracy reasonably high. Further we have also analyzed the robustness of our proposed techniques on noisy utterances. To establish the efficacy of our proposed methods, we used two different databases, POLYCOST (telephone speech) and YOHO (microphone speech).  相似文献

Reinforcing bars, popularly termed “rebars,” are used to impart tensile strength to concrete structures. Concrete has high resistance to weathering and fire and high compressive strength but almost no tensile strength, hence rebars are used to provide the latter to concrete. Property consistency along the length of rebars is an important prerequisite. When the finished product is subjected to thermomechanical treatment (TMT), proper control of rolling and water box parameters and efficient pinch rolling are needed to achieve acceptable properties. Variation of yield strength (YS) along TMT bars from the front to back end has been observed within the same heat treatment. In the presented investigation, it was observed that pinch rolling ineffectiveness is the main reason for the poor mechanical properties at the back end. The pinch roller was unable to support the back end of the TMT bars properly to maintain the speed and tension of the bars, resulting in nonuniform cooling of the back end through the water box and subsequent mechanical property failure. Due to the substandard material of the pinch roller, it was unable to hold the back end of the bar properly. Based on analysis of the roller it was concluded that it failed due to improper microstructure, resulting in inadequate hardness and toughness for the stringent operating conditions. AISI H13 is a better material to use in such high-service-temperature conditions. Moreover, proper heat treatment is needed to achieve adequate hardness and microstructure properties. After proper heat treatment of pinch rollers, their service life was increased twofold, minimizing the YS variation along the rebars.  相似文献

This article presents a multi-objective (maximization of availability and minimization of maintenance cost) preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling model for a continuous operating series system (COSS) which do not provide an off-working period for PM. The objective functions are optimized by using a Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA). The effectiveness of the model is demonstrated through a coal-fired boiler-tube. The case study shows that the model can improve the availability along with profound reduction of the maintenance cost, i.e., increases the profit of the plant.  相似文献

The objective of the paper is to develop a nuclear coupled thermal-hydraulic model in order to simulate core-wide (in-phase) and regional (out-of-phase) stability analysis in time domain within the limitation of desktop research facility for a boiling water reactor subjected to operational transients. The integrated numerical tool, which is a combination of thermal-hydraulic, neutronic and fuel heat conduction models, is used to analyze a complete boiling water reactor core taking into account the strong nonlinear coupling between the core neutron dynamics and primary circuit thermal-hydraulics via the void-temperature reactivity feedback effects. The integrated model is validated against standard benchmark and published results. Finally, the model is used for various parametric studies and a number of numerical simulations are carried out to investigate core-wide and regional instabilities of the boiling water reactor core with and without the neutronic feedback effects. Results show that the inclusion of neutronic feedback effects has an adverse effect on boiling water reactor core by augmenting the instability at lower power for same inlet subcooling during core-wide mode of oscillations, whereas the instability is being suppressed during regional mode of oscillations in presence of the neutronic feedback. Dominance of core-wide instability over regional mode of oscillations is established for the present case of simulations which indicates that the preclusion of the former will automatically prevent the latter at the existing working condition.  相似文献

Effect of silica doping on the densification and grain growth in zinc oxide   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The ability of silica (SiO2) in controlling the densification and grain growth behavior of nano crystalline zinc oxide (ZnO) has been systematically studied. It has been observed that SiO2 acts as a sintering inhibitor in the ZnO–SiO2 system up to 4 wt.% limiting value beyond which densification behavior of the system remains almost unchanged, especially above 1100 °C. The addition of SiO2 to ZnO retards grain growth which in turn results a finer ultimate grain size as compared to the undoped ZnO. However, stabilization in grain size occurs at ≥4 wt.% SiO2 addition. It has been observed that SiO2 incorporation changes the grain growth mechanism up to 4 wt.% addition, beyond which no remarkable changes was noticed. The grain growth (n) shows distinctly different slopes as a function of sintering time for the SiO2 doped ZnO systems than undoped ZnO. The different slopes tend to indicate that different diffusion mechanisms and probably the formation of a secondary phase (Zn–Si–O) at the grain boundary control the densification and grain growth. The thermal expansion coefficient of the system has been found to decrease substantially beyond 4 wt.% SiO2 addition to ZnO.  相似文献

This paper investigates the performance of medium access control (MAC) protocols in a wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) based optical access network consisting of a backbone ring interconnecting several passive-star-based clusters of optical networking units (ONUs) at customer premises. Each cluster is connected to the backbone through an access node (AN). A scheduler located in each AN, executes two MAC protocols, one for the intracluster traffic and the other for the intercluster traffic. In order to maintain the quality of service, the scheduler in the AN employs, priority-based queuing for the intercluster traffic on pre-assigned wavelengths. For controlling the intracluster traffic, the scheduler employs pre-transmission coordination with ranging and look-ahead functionalities in the MAC protocol. The performance of MAC protocol for intracluster traffic is evaluated through event-driven simulation, while for intercluster traffic the MAC performance is evaluated through analytical modeling of the queuing system employing two dynamic bandwidth management schemes. Performance of the intracluster MAC protocol is shown to be improved by novel use of subcarrier multiplexing on the wavelength used for the control packet transmission. A comparative study of the two intercluster schemes in terms of end-to-end delay is carried out, to understand the effect of priority queuing on the real-time and non-real-time service packets.  相似文献

The crystallization behaviour and the mechanical properties of rapidly solidified Al87.5Ni7Mm5Fe0.5 alloy ribbons have been examined in both as-melt-spun and heat-treated condition using differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffractometry (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), tensile testing and Vicker’s microhardness machine. XRD and TEM studies revealed that the as-melt-spun ribbons are fully amorphous. The amorphous ribbon undergoes three-stage crystallization process upon heating. Primary crystallization resulted in the formation of fine nanocrystalline fcc-Al particles embedded in the amorphous matrix. The second and third crystallization stages correspond to the precipitation of Al11(La,Ce)3 and Al3Ni phases, respectively. Microhardness and tensile strength of the ribbons were examined with the variation of temperature and subsequently correlated with the evolved structure. Initially, the microhardness of the ribbon increases with temperature followed by a sharp drop in hardness owing to the decomposition of amorphous matrix that leads to formation of intermetallic compounds  相似文献
