The electronic structures of quasi-one-dimensional ferrimagnetic Ca3Co2O6 are investigated using the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) as well as the GGA plus on-site Coulomb interaction (GGA+U) scheme. GGA+U calculations reveal that the interchain ferrimagnetic Ca3Co2O6 is a Mott–Hubbard insulator rather than a metal given from GGA. In addition, we found an on-site U induced 3z2−r2 orbital ordering on Copri sublattice which drives the intrachain ferromagnetic coupling along c-axis. Our findings suggest that strong electron-electron correlation plays an important role in Ca3Co2O6. 相似文献

A novel technique is developed to reconstruct the physical structures of a nonuniform transmission line from its time-domain or frequency-domain reflection (scattering) coefficient. This technique takes the past history of reflection processes of nonuniform line into considerations, and its accuracy exceeds that of a conventional time-domain reflectometry (TDR) technique. In this paper, a novel approach composed of digital signal-processing techniques and optimization algorithms is developed to design and implement filters at microwave frequencies. The design phase begins with the adoption of digital filter prototypes and the implementation phase is facilitated by using both parametric modeling techniques and optimization algorithms. All the zeros of digital filter prototypes are removed first; the remaining part of the prototypes is then transformed to an autoregressive (AR) process by parametric modeling techniques. The values of characteristic impedances of transmission lines synthesizing the filters are adjusted according to the AR process by optimization algorithms. Both low-pass and bandpass filters are designed and then implemented in the form of a microstrip line, and their frequency responses are measured to validate the novel approach 相似文献

A novel approach consisting of discrete signal processing (DSP) technique and optimization method is developed to implement a second-order differentiator at microwave frequencies. To utilize the transfer function of a second-order differentiator developed in the DSP study, we formulate the chain scattering parameters of transmission lines in the Z domain. In particular, it is shown that shunt stubs combining with nonuniform serial lines lead to the realization of a second-order microwave differentiator. Simple and accurate formulations are employed to represent discrete-time infinite impulse response processes of both first- and second-order differentiators in the Z-domain. These formulations, in conjunction with the representations of transmission-line elements in the Z-domain, lead to transmission-line configurations that are eligible for wide-band microwave differentiators. This paper reviews the Video-On-Demand technical trial conducted by Computer & Communication Research Laboratories in Taiwan. This trial is one of the key realization of Taiwan's National Information Infrastructure. The primary goal is to provide a testbed and platform for new product development, interoperability test, and interactive multimedia applications. It also explores the technical difficulties from which experiences can be gained for future large scale deployment. Open system and end-to-end system are the most important requirements of the VOD system in this trial. Open system allows a variety of video servers and set-top boxes to be integrated into the system while end-to-end system requires system integration know-how.An overview of the Video-On-Demand system is provided in this paper. The architecture of the video server, delivery network and set-top box will be examined. The system integration issues including content preparation will also be discussed. 相似文献
