This paper describes an improved model for multiple building diffraction modeling based on the uniform theory of diffraction. A well-known problem in conventional uniform theory of diffraction (CUTD) is multiple edge transition zone diffraction. Here, higher order diffracted fields are used in order to improve the result. Hence, we use higher order diffraction coefficients to improve a hybrid physical optics (PO)-CUTD model, the results show that the new model can correct errors of the PO-CUTD model. Therefore, the proposed model can find application in the development of theoretical models to predict more realistic path loss in urban environments, when multiple building diffraction is considered.  相似文献

An ultra wideband coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed slot antenna is presented. A rectangular slot antenna is excited by a 50-CPW with an arc-shaped tuning stub. For the proposed antenna, the 210 dB return loss bandwidth could reach 15.6 GHz (3.7-19.3 GHz), which is about 135% with respect to the centre frequency of 11.5 GHz. Details of the antenna design, simulation and measured results on the return loss and the E-and H-plane radiation patterns of the proposed antenna are presented.  相似文献

The authors present the results of a polygonal patch antenna for ultra-wideband applications covering a frequency band from 4.14 to 13.50 GHz. The fabricated antenna achieved a 210 dB impedance bandwidth in excess of 125% with an antenna size of 0.373λo/sub / x 0.373 xλo/sub /0.149λ/spl o/ at its centre frequency. The antenna?s impedance bandwidth is 64% higher than what is currently obtainable with state-of-the-art folded-patch techniques. The proposed patch antenna has a polygonal-shape with a rectangular slot and shorting pins. The analysis of this antenna shows that bandwidth broadening is achieved by using a rectangular slot on the patch that is fed from a folded-patch feed, whereas the reduction in antenna size is achieved through the use of two shorting pins strategically located on the radiating patch.  相似文献

Two novel planar slotted-antennas (PSAs) are presented that exhibit good radiation characteristics at the UHF–SHF bands. The proposed antennas are constructed using metamaterial unit-cells constituted from capacitive slots etched in the radiating patch and grounded spiral shaped inductive stubs. The proposed PSA design is fabricated on a commercially available dielectric substrate, i.e. Rogers RO4003 with permittivity of 3.38 and thickness of 1.6 mm. The first PSA comprising five symmetrical unit-cells of slot–inductor–slot configuration operates over a wide bandwidth extending from 1 to 4.2 GHz with a peak gain of 1.5 dBi and efficiency of 35 % at 2 GHz. The second PSA consists of ten asymmetrical unit-cells of slot–inductor configuration on the same size of substrate as the first PSA, enhances the antenna gain by 2 dB and efficiency by 25 % and operates over 0.75–4.5 GHz. The asymmetrical unit-cell effectively increases the aperture size of the antenna without comprising its size. The electrical size of the antenna is 0.083λ0 × 0.033λ0 × 0.005λ0, where free-space wavelength (λ0) is 1 GHz.  相似文献
